To bloody scream at Hermes 'delivery'

Sorry but posting mainly for traffic.

I was a due a delivery today from an order from Amazon. Came in from work (three other people in the house all morning). No parcel. Fine.

Chatting to my DD on the settee that faces the road.
A white van pulls up outside my neighbours a couple of doors up. Said to DD that might be my parcel.
No-one walked past my house.
No-one rang my bell
No-one knocked on my very loud knocker.
Assumed wasn't said parcel.

Checked on email and it says 'Tried to deliver but driver didn't want to leave it unattended' but to check calling card for number to ring re re-delivery.

Rang 'customer services' and the automated thing says delivered to unspecified location and to check calling card - I DON'T BLOODY HAVE A CALLING CARD!!!!!!!

Checked with neighbours - nope, no delivery to them either.

So where on Earth is my bloody parcel that I want for the weekend???!!!!!!

'Customer service' doesn't seem to exist!

I am fuming!!!!!!

Is my parcel somewhere in my street or will they try again tomorrow when it might be missed???!!!!!

Sorry, I'm rambling because I'm fricking fuming!!!!!

So, AIBU to want to bloody shout from the rooftops how utterly shit Hermes delivery is and more importantly, does anyone have a number that I can ring to actually talk to a human being?????

Even a live web/chat!

Anything!!!!!!!!

😫😤😡

Watching this closely. I'm waiting on a second delivery attempt from them today. There doesn't seem to be any way to communicate with them.

ArsenicChip · 05/09/2019 15:59

I too am waiting for a second delivery attempt. I have never seen them in my street at 9pm - the time it is estimated, so I fairly sure it won’t come again. I paid a fortune for deliver too. Angry

PivotPivotPivottt · 05/09/2019 16:00

Scream away I bloody hate Hermes and have been ranting about them all week. My parcel was supposed to be here on Monday and the tracker said it has been delayed and will be with me soon.

The live chat system is shit, their phone number is just an automated thing that tells you your parcel is on the way and it charges you £6.00 Angry. Everytime I have a parcel arriving with Hermes it goes AWOL. I FUCKING HATE HERMES!!!!!

WhatAGreatDay · 05/09/2019 16:00

This happened to me once with an Amazon parcel. My son was waiting for a delivery of Lego and was looking out the front window. We saw a van pull up outside, but no one left the van or came to our house or any house. He drove off and I instantly got an email saying that the driver had tried to deliver.

Luckily I had to pick up my daughter from a club and I saw the van parked about 150m down the road. I got the parcel from the bloke and he was very very apologetic.

I was also once stood in my front hallway when the postman put through a "we tried to deliver a parcel" card.

Twitter and Facebook are your friend in this situation. The official pages not a rangy local page. I had a issue and when I finally got one of live chats (which took me hours to figure out on the website) it was sorted within 24 hours.
I couldn’t find a number for Hermes anywhere

cattreats · 05/09/2019 16:00

I had this yesterday - you need to complain directly to Amazon rather than Hermes, but I've also found a live chat link.

www.number-helpline.co.uk/guide/speak-someone-hermes/

Be warned - you wait 20 minutes in a queue and once you've got through to someone, if you don't type an answer fast enough they end the chat and put you back to the end of the queue.

Honeybingbong · 05/09/2019 16:00

* ranty not rangy Blush

PivotPivotPivottt · 05/09/2019 16:01

ArsenicChip

If you phone the retailer they will maybe refund you the delivery charge. JD Sports did it for me a couple of weeks ago when yet another Hermes delivery didn't arrive on time.

Busydrinkingcoffee1 · 05/09/2019 16:03

I had a text this morning from Hermes to say my parcel was being delivered between 1-3, so I stayed at home despite needing to do our food shop and guess what?! Not here! Now the tracking says it been delayed, despite being out for delivery and no reason why!

PivotPivotPivottt · 05/09/2019 16:04

And yes on live chat this morning I was asked to confirm my name and delivery address it took me less than 10 seconds to type and the arse on the other side advised he would be closing the conversation as I hadn't respondedAngry

PivotPivotPivottt · 05/09/2019 16:05

Busydrinkingcoffee1

Sounds like what's happened to me. Apparently they are going to search the depot for it it's ridiculous.

EvilHerbivore · 05/09/2019 16:06

Twitter. It's the only way with Hermes
yep been in this bloody situation myself

rainbowstardrops · 05/09/2019 16:06

Jeez, they are indeed utterly shit then!!!!!!
Where can I locate the live web chat because I am seriously getting tec rage now!!!!!!

I was following a delivery 'live' on a map for once. It showed the driver (DPD, from memory) a few streets away, then suddenly displayed a 'signed for by customer' notice and gave the name of the signee as something similar to, but not exactly, my name. This was within the delivery time window. Three quarters of an hour later, outside of the delivery window, the driver knocked on the door with my package. I think he'd signed for the package himself and had a sly tea break while making sure it looked like it had been delivered in time Angry

Ohbuggerlugs · 05/09/2019 16:12

They’re absolutely shit!!!!

Hermes are awful! They have lost without trace something that was sent to me by a friend. Their ‘customer service’ is nonexistent.
Also, I returned an item to Boden using Hermes and it took nearly a month. Whenever I use Royal Mail returns it is acknowledged within a few days.

Shittiestdayinalongtime · 05/09/2019 16:17

This happened to me, they didnt even try and deliver and didn't leave a calling card. They did deliver the 2nd time. Was not very happy!

RedSheep73 · 05/09/2019 16:18

They are the absolute worst delivery company, up against pretty stiff competition. We had exactly what you describe, it never did turn up and customer support did nothing at all. I can only assume couriers steal the stuff.

chimpandzee · 05/09/2019 16:20

This happened to me the other day. I went online and got on to live chat with Amazon customer services - can't remember exactly how I got there but if you go to your order information there is a link somewhere in there. They didn't exactly provide an explanation as to why my delivery was marked as unsuccessful when I had been sitting at home waiting for it all day, but they did credit my account with £5 for the inconvenience. And the parcel was delivered the following day succesfully.

userlotsanumbers · 05/09/2019 16:21

They're awful. I have, before now, told companies that I won't order from them again because they use Hermes. Utterly shite - oh, and their 'contract' is with the supplier, so they reckon they don't have to talk to you, a mere customer. They don't have a contract with you, see. The absolute worst delivery company by a long chalk.

pooopypants · 05/09/2019 16:22

Email the CEO's office, their email is online. They're fucking appalling and their customer service is beyond hellish. I got a call back within 24 hours from CEO's office, they were amazing.
