To bloody scream at Hermes 'delivery'

Sorry but posting mainly for traffic.

I was a due a delivery today from an order from Amazon. Came in from work (three other people in the house all morning). No parcel. Fine.

Chatting to my DD on the settee that faces the road.
A white van pulls up outside my neighbours a couple of doors up. Said to DD that might be my parcel.
No-one walked past my house.
No-one rang my bell
No-one knocked on my very loud knocker.
Assumed wasn't said parcel.

Checked on email and it says 'Tried to deliver but driver didn't want to leave it unattended' but to check calling card for number to ring re re-delivery.

Rang 'customer services' and the automated thing says delivered to unspecified location and to check calling card - I DON'T BLOODY HAVE A CALLING CARD!!!!!!!

Checked with neighbours - nope, no delivery to them either.

So where on Earth is my bloody parcel that I want for the weekend???!!!!!!

'Customer service' doesn't seem to exist!

I am fuming!!!!!!

Is my parcel somewhere in my street or will they try again tomorrow when it might be missed???!!!!!

Sorry, I'm rambling because I'm fricking fuming!!!!!

So, AIBU to want to bloody shout from the rooftops how utterly shit Hermes delivery is and more importantly, does anyone have a number that I can ring to actually talk to a human being?????

Even a live web/chat!

Anything!!!!!!!!

😫😤😡

I've only had one problem with Hermes a few years ago where they delivered the clothes I needed for the dcs for Christmas on the day after Boxing Day 😫 .ither than that it's all been fine.

peppaporkysandwich · 06/09/2019 14:03

@Dipi this is the second thread I've seen today where you have upset people and has your comments removed. You don't you go away and act like the good catholic ( other thread) that you claim to be despite ridiculing those in need of alms ( other thread again- sorry everyone )

Pigflewpast · 06/09/2019 14:20

MHQ commented on another thread today that they had just banned Dipi for their comments

This has recently happened to me. I had a couple of days off work to wait for a parcel. They emailed saying that there was a delay and my parcel was with the driver. 3 days later I had an email saying that 3 attempts had been made to deliver so it had been returned to sender. NO attemptes were made at all to deliver my parcel and there is non-existent customer service. The whole company is a absolute shambles!!

They did the same thing to my DH, saying 3 attempts had been made. He gave his work address which is a shop that is open until 8pm, so there is ALWAYS somebody there. Hermes just can't be arsed to actually do their job

VaIn98 · 06/09/2019 14:51

Hermes is the worst parcel service ever Angry I had to wait for a parcel for 19 days and finally they told me that the package was lost, God knows how and where.. every time, the tracking info was updated as 'attempted delivery but unsuccessful' while I was home ALL the time.. totally disgustedAngry

rainbowstardrops · 06/09/2019 18:01

I so want to hear what @Dipi said!!!!!!!! The poor thing is obviously bored or something!!!

Anyway, I am absolutely fricking fuming x 2!!!!!
I have made sure that my window to the street has been manned since early this morning - my self-employed husband even took the morning off work to stake out the window that faces the street until I came home from work and my children took the early shift before school etc.
Nothing arrived. Nada!!!
I seethed until 4.30ish and then rang Amazon. Again.
I struggled to hear what he said because my hearing is crap but he seems to think a delivery attempt was made at 2.34pm today when I was sat opposite the bloody window!!!!!!!
I might have got a bit emotional and shrieked at this point and shouted that it was a bloody lie (I have had no email and no calling card YET AGAIN) and the poor bloke at Amazon agreed with me. He said that they won't be dealing with Hermes soon??!?

Soooo .......

My delivery for my husband's special birthday is clearly not coming and so we can all stand down from window watch.

I am fricking fuming

God help Amazon when this party weekend is over and I can focus on a suitable email to them!!!!!!!!

What an utter bunch of bastards!!!!!!!

It turns out that a friend of mine has had to send her child to school in borrowed uniform today because Hermes has lost her order!!!!!!!!
Surely there is something we can all do together here????

Hermes has a number for the delivery driver did that not come up?

ohapples · 06/09/2019 20:46

Hermes are awful I don’t know they are still running business, every delivery I’ve had with them goes missing or doesn’t arrive and sent back to shop.

Djjohn46 · 06/09/2019 21:11

Hi I was given this number for Hermes from one of my retailers when my parcel wasn't delivered hope it helps 08445437331

Sunflower20 · 06/09/2019 22:00

@WhatAGreatDay

Did that driver explain why he pulled up to your house but didn't even try to deliver but took the effort to send a stupid email instead!?!?!

I detest Hermes, they are the WORST. Currently I'm avoiding ALL retailers using them. I'm hoping they will go bust soon. Fucking incompetent wankers.

Sunflower20 · 06/09/2019 22:01

Can we get a petition together to investigate these losers?! So that they can somehow disappear off the face of the earth!?

tashakg89 · 06/09/2019 22:10

I ordered something getting delivered by Hermes a few weeks ago. Tracker said it was coming between a certain time in the afternoon - never showed up- waited all week and was a no show. Got in touch with the shop where I got it from they said to wait a few days and they would get In touch with them to find out what's going on- a week later still not heard anything so phoned back up, turns out the parcel had got lost. Had to wait another week for my refund to come in. Total farce.

ladyshapes82 · 07/09/2019 03:43

Our local Hermes courier is usually OK, but recently I was expecting an eBay delivery via Hermes and got a message to say that they couldn’t deliver to my address, and asking me to get in touch with them to resolve the problem. Obviously I couldn’t find any contact details for them but the parcel turned up the next day anyway with a note on it saying that they hadn’t been able to fit it in their car the day before. Why not be honest about that to start with, instead of making up some lie about my address, which is a very straightforward one on a London street that they’d delivered to countless times before, and trying to make it the customer’s fault instead of their own? So annoying.

rainbowstardrops · 07/09/2019 07:01

@mumtooneyr I don't recall seeing one but I'll have another look. I've just resigned myself to the fact this parcel isn't coming and I'm getting sick and tired of thinking about it now!

@Djjohn46 thanks for that number. I think I might have tried that one already but I'll double check!

@Sunflower20 my sentiments entirely!!!! I will never ever willingly buy anything that uses them again!

Well that was an utter bold fail!!! Arghhhhh!!!!

OP posts:
SunshineCake · 07/09/2019 07:12

They once delivered me a big box of clothes and linens that I hadn't ordered. My name, my address but not me. Someone had fraudulently ordered the stuff. It wasn't a pleasant experience getting it taken back.

Another time, though I can't be 100% sure it was Hermes but probably was, I watched the tracker and we were next. I had to go and collect my child so I installed another one in my lounge so couldn't miss seeing them arrive. Said we weren't in. I know they hadn't even come. I did the live chat thing but they didn't give a shit.

I also waited in all day for British Gas. They also said they came when they didn't . Liars.

wizzler · 07/09/2019 07:30

I have parcels delivered to my work address . We have someone on reception 24x7, even on xmas day. The Hermes driver doesn't work on Saturdays and so shows the item as "unable to deliver as no one in". To be fair, it's always arrived on the Monday but really not helpful to have tracking showing something that is obviously not true

rainbowstardrops · 07/09/2019 09:13

With so many negative stories with Hermes, how on earth are they still in business and why on earth do any companies use them????!!!!!!! Angry

OP posts:
peppaporkysandwich · 07/09/2019 09:18

My delivery from Hermes will be here todayGrinthey deliver on Saturdays in my area.

rainbowstardrops · 07/09/2019 09:24

My email says it's out for delivery but as they've lied on Thursday AND Friday, I have no confidence that I shall see it today. Or any day for that matter!
