To ask what was the best thing you've ever bought from TK Maxx?

I've just gone in hoping to find some decent things but it just resembled a jumble sale! Things out of their packets, in the wrong places etc. I know a few people who have bought great designer items so cheap from there but I can never find anything.

Aibu to ask what's the best thing you've bought from there?

I like their le creuset bits ....

Craftycorvid · 29/08/2019 19:53

TKM used to be fab’ - like an incredibly posh jumble sale - and I loved browsing. Nowadays they have lots of ‘brands you’ve never heard of’ which turn out to be their own brands Hmm. I’ve had some good stuff there in the past - good quality leather jackets and Frye boots. Nothing particular recently. I go in from time to time as they do have decent toiletries and underwear.

nitgel · 29/08/2019 19:55

Lee jeans. Stuff from wolford. Lots of good stuff

FudgeBrownie2019 · 29/08/2019 19:55

I found a Mulberry Bayswater in the Solihull one years ago that thrilled me to bits.

I collect little pottery bits and often come across them in there when I'm not really searching.

And Bliss soap; I always find it in there and buy it in bulk as it's the best soap in the world.

FudgeBrownie2019 · 29/08/2019 19:56

Ooh yes, the Wolford tights come in every now and then and I bulk buy those, too!

queenMab99 · 29/08/2019 19:58

Socks with soft welts, that don't leave a mark on my legs, they don't always have them so I buy in bulk when they doGrin

TeamUnicorn · 29/08/2019 20:00

I used to get my grobags from there as they were always much cheaper and there when you needed them.

whiteroseredrose · 29/08/2019 20:01

DH and DS get Ralph Lauren chinos and polo shirts from there. I used to get a lot of Paul Costello clothes there when I used to dress like that.

Flamingo84 · 29/08/2019 20:01

Wrangler jeans that feel like they were made for me.

Recently a jumpsuit with cream 3/4 length sleeve top and navy wide leg paper bag style waist. Beautiful on and was £11 Shock

Jamie Oliver glassware.

You have to be there at the right time. I can go there 5 times and find nothing, but the one time I find something amazing makes it worth it!

RavenLG · 29/08/2019 20:01

When I was in school we had a “prom” and we managed to get my dress in there. It was Morgan branded but reduced to £25 and it was black (going through a goth phase). It was a godsend really as my poor parents really couldn’t afford much more.

Lately we just tend to get photo frames. It’s crap.

ThatssomebadhatHarry · 29/08/2019 20:03

I got a lovely sailors and brides jacket a few years ago and it was £50, selling for about £300 online. It’s really good quality (looks the same as the day I got it) and has lots of hidden pockets so great when travelling.

I didn’t go it for a coat though, which is always the way.

Foslady · 29/08/2019 20:03

Elizabeth Arden duo skin care pack - got it for £12.50 in the final reductions with a bit of a bettered box. Was eye wateringly expensive in duty free last week!

mumaw · 29/08/2019 20:04

So envious of all your great buys!!

£20 Carvela shoes!

Also, their kids books are often really good so I stock up on those I.e. pack of 10 Mr men books for £8 usually £2.99 per book.

mumaw · 29/08/2019 20:04

I saw a lot of brands that I've never heard of

Years ago I needed a formal dress for a cruise and found a floor length halter neck in a deep red for £30.

I got so many compliments on it and the dress made me feel beautiful.

Jesaminecollins · 29/08/2019 20:05

I recently got my grandson some stuff for his playhouse - he loves them

percheron67 · 29/08/2019 20:06

A Jean-Paul Gaultier silk scarf for £15.00.

MindatWork · 29/08/2019 20:06

I got a gorgeous silk French Connection sundress a few years ago for £14 from the clearance rack - I wore it to death 😞

sandichshortofapicnic · 29/08/2019 20:06

A calvin Klein black cropped jacket. They also stock the yummy mummy changing bags sometimes

mumaw · 29/08/2019 20:06

@percheron67 Shock what was it RRP?

pandarific · 29/08/2019 20:07

A gorgeous black real leather jacket for £50. I miss that jacket.

Toomanyradishes · 29/08/2019 20:07

Lulu guiness shoes, 7 for all mankind jeans and several nice bags

Pangur2 · 29/08/2019 20:08

Spanx, Wolford tights, Carvela shoes, Too Faced make up, Urban Decay make up, By Terry make up. They are great for make up and skin care as long as you get to it before people open everything and wreck it all.

Letsnotargue · 29/08/2019 20:08

A long (kneelength) Firetrap coat about 15 years ago. It’s just wearing out and I’ve just found out they’re one of the SportsDirect own brands now ☹️

A beautiful grey leather slouchy hobo Liebeskind handbag. I loved it and carried it everywhere until I had a red biro leak all over it ☹️☹️
