I've just gone in hoping to find some decent things but it just resembled a jumble sale! Things out of their packets, in the wrong places etc. I know a few people who have bought great designer items so cheap from there but I can never find anything.

Aibu to ask what's the best thing you've bought from there?

Years ago I got a DKNY silk scarf for about £15. More recently a Michael Kors canvas and leather jacket which was on the sale rail for about £20. It was labelled size 16 but it's only slightly large on me (I'm a 10) so assume it was rejected because the sizing was wrong - lucky for me I tried it on anyway as I've worn it to death!

Anolon saucepans, a full set for less than £50.

MaudesMum · 29/08/2019 20:31

I found a Bennetton black jacket which fitted perfectly last year in the Tottenham Court Road branch. Only one there, and for some reason it was priced at £5.00. It's now my go-to black jacket to wear over skirts, dresses etc whenever I need to look respectable.

EskewedBeef · 29/08/2019 20:32

I got a long navy cashmere Benetton cardigan there last week for £10.

Beautiful Falke tights - so warm, soft and they actually fit!

Perfume - Serge Lutens, Miller Harris, Olfactive Studio

Majestic Filatures cashmere tops and cardigans

Birkenstocks

Bloody love tk maxx!
I went in today and got some Philip Kingsley shampoo and scalp mask in the clearance section, soo cheap compared to full price.
Also good for natural deodorants in my local one.
I got a set of 2 wonderbras that are so comfy. They have no underwire but are still giving me the shape I need. Tempted to go back for more. Think they were only £10 for the 2.

MoaningMinnie1 · 29/08/2019 20:35

A couple of really good handbags.

JuneSpoon · 29/08/2019 20:36

Ski clothes

pigglypug · 29/08/2019 20:37

I like the Christie towels, Le Creuset stuff (not usually the cast iron but the mugs, dishes etc) and the cashmere.

Sometimes there are some nice NEOM candles in there too.

I agree a lot of the rest is rubbish.

Destinesia · 29/08/2019 20:38

Joseph joseph utensil set and chopping board for less than half the rrp, still using them 7 years later.
Fitted bed sheets.
Full size CND rescue RX and solar oil for £1.99

Herocomplex · 29/08/2019 20:39

Nicole Fahri navy dress, a silk velvet black short jacket, cashmere sweaters. All saints jeans for my DS. I’ve found all sorts of treasures in tiny sizes, so not for me!

I LOVE TK Maxx.

Got a beautiful Liberty silk tie for my DH for £2 down from £110.

RobertSmithdoesmyhair · 29/08/2019 20:42

Footwear and kitchenware are excellent. Everything else? I can't be arsed!

Zampa · 29/08/2019 20:43

My best ever buys were Liberty of London silk ties for £10. RRP £90 - £120. Bought the lot!

user1497997754 · 29/08/2019 20:43

Pekesniff candles and men's aftershave

Zampa · 29/08/2019 20:44

Goddamit sexnotgender I feel ripped off now!

IncrediblySadToo · 29/08/2019 20:45

The stores vary enormously!

I can’t think of a single outstanding item, but lots of great things over the years. Especially during the baby/toddler years!

Plus notebooks/ pretty storage boxes & kitchen stuff.

Not so much clothing but that’s due to HATING clothes shopping & bring to fat for most of their designer clothing.

FuzzyPuffling · 29/08/2019 20:46

A Betty Jackson coat, lovely bedlinen, sheepskin boots.
I find them better online these days; the shop never seems to have much in that inspires me.

My favourite purchase was a posh label LBD. (little black dress). I've worn it to death. RRP over £400, reduced reduced reduced and got it for £24.99. It's fully lined, really flattering and I always get compliments when I wear it (unusual for me!)

Saucepans, frying pans, OPI nail varnishes and lots from HomeSense.

MrsMozartMkII · 29/08/2019 20:47

Had a lot of good stuff from there...

Well cut clothes (known and unknown brands), crockery, handbags, lamps. All sorts.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 29/08/2019 20:48

I can only assume that branches vary massively as I've never seen any clothing priced for less than £9.99 in my nearest one let alone some of the £5 designer bargains that some of you have managed to get!

Ours seems to be full of the "labels/brands" that are actually only available in TKMaxx

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 29/08/2019 20:48

We used to go twice a year for a big shop, trawl through all the racks. We'd spend about 150 and come away with clothes for me, dh and 3 boys. Best thing I got for them was Versace sweatshirts for 5 quid. These days it's shite, though I got a wool Berkasongaard (sp) for 3 quid last year.

Roussette · 29/08/2019 20:48

Oh and Charles Trwhyitt shirts for DH.
