Many people and organisations use these words interchangerbly. The meaning is always clear. I actually don't give a stuff if others disagree.

I don't care either , when people say gender scan it's obvious what they mean don't see the need for people to keep stating it's sex not gender....but think this will be a minority view here....

Except when talking about unborn babies, perhaps.

With babies already born, when you talk about finding out their "gender", one doesn't know if you mean by that that you'll present them with a doll and a toy car and determine their "gender identity" by what toy they reach for.

You might not care now, but wait til it impacts you or your children.

The guides are a good example of the impact these distinctions will begin to make.

It’s important because some people actually don’t understand the difference and think sex is something that can change according to how you feel because everyone is talking about being gender fluid and men being women and they’re all confusing each other. So, yes, quite important we remind people of the actual meaning of the words they are using.
