This is the 65,000 strong crowd at a Greenday gig singing along to Queen as the venue music played before bands came on.

There is something so, so beautiful about the sheer joy of the entire crowd joining in to sing together, when not a single performer is on stage. It as enough to make me weep.

Is it just me who thinks this is a beautiful moment? Am I just flooded with new baby joy and hormones? Grin

I get you OP. I have a thing about choirs. They make me well up and they don't even have to be good. There is a video of a school for kids with additional needs, singing Hallelujah, the little girl singing the lead is incredible. I literally sobbed watching it whilst my friend who was watching was like "meh".

GulagMilkMonitor · 25/09/2018 16:25

I’m glad I’m not alone. It doesn’t have to be good, it just has to be filled with happiness and I’m off and crying my eyes out. I showed my DC and they said it looked like “the best party ever!”

You are definitely not BU. It's beautiful...

Bicnod · 25/09/2018 16:34

This was Hyde Park right? I was there and singing, it WAS beautiful OP (the moment in general I mean, not my singing in particular which is pretty mediocre at best...) Grin the whole gig was bloody brilliant.

CSIblonde · 25/09/2018 16:35

That's such a beautiful tribute to Queen & Freddie Mercury's legacy. Most of that crowd weren't even born when Queen were at their peak. I did feel a bit teary. The recent doc I saw said It was only 6months after he passed that drugs that would have given him a normal lifespan came into being.

GulagMilkMonitor · 25/09/2018 16:40

Yes it was the Hyde Park gig in 2017.
It sends shivers dowwwwn my spinnnneee!

That is quite something! What a song.

RonniePickering · 25/09/2018 16:49

Lovely OP.

How’s that lemon, Racecardriver?

dontcallmelen · 25/09/2018 16:49

Oh my that was so uplifting, am very emotional at the moment for some reason so made me very teary, probably being way over the top but it makes me feel as though, there is still some hope for us all when a crowd of people comes together & the sheer joy of singing unites them, rather than all the selfishness & self absorbed nonsense that surrounds us at the moment.

luckycat007 · 25/09/2018 16:50

I'm more interested in the chance to drool over Billie Joe 😏

Losingthechubrub · 25/09/2018 16:51

I was there too, adding my godawful vocals to the song. There were no lyrics on screen or anything; we're British, Bohemian Rhapsody is part of our collective DNA. Apparently Green Day play this before all thier British gigs, but this was captured so beautifully, with Hyde Park and the setting sun.

MadisonAvenue · 25/09/2018 16:52

This is usual at recent Green Day gigs just before the band come on stage. I wasn’t at Hyde Park but it’s happened at GD shows I’ve been to at Brixton Academy and the Emirates in the last few years.

CoolCarrie · 25/09/2018 16:55

I love flash mobs as well as choirs. There are some crackers on YouTube.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 25/09/2018 16:56

It sends shivers dowwwwn my spinnnneee!

Down mine, too!!!!

Thank you so much for sharing this - it's cheered me up no end.

imonaplane · 25/09/2018 16:57

That is wonderful. I like one of the comments - " If you can rock 65,000 people in a concert 27 years after your death and without being there, you are not just a singer, you are a legend."

SchadenfreudePersonified · 25/09/2018 16:57

I love flash mobs as well as choirs. There are some crackers on YouTube.

There are, an' all! There was once to "Doe , a deer" - I think it was at a Belgian railway station - it was AMAZING! (I might have cried . . . )

wheresmyhairytoe · 25/09/2018 16:58

That ward awesome. I love big crowds singing, football fans all singing together moves me.

wheresmyhairytoe · 25/09/2018 16:58

*was awesome

Noboozeforme · 25/09/2018 17:02

For me, it shows how music is universal. People pulling together to make something beautiful.. no matter of age, race or ability.

It also helps (For me) that Freddie and this song are in my opinion a national treasure.

Beautiful.

Oh yes flash mob choirs. They make me melt. And when the actors dressed as soldiers sang “We’re here because we’re here” was incredible.

marycontraryquite · 25/09/2018 17:06

It has me in tears too. I love it. Thanks for sharing.
