to think this is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen?

This is the 65,000 strong crowd at a Greenday gig singing along to Queen as the venue music played before bands came on.

There is something so, so beautiful about the sheer joy of the entire crowd joining in to sing together, when not a single performer is on stage. It as enough to make me weep.

Is it just me who thinks this is a beautiful moment? Am I just flooded with new baby joy and hormones? Grin

I remember being at the Simple Minds tour at Wembley in 1989. The old stadium was packed to the rafters and as one of their encores the band sang Biko. The whole stadium just rose to their feet and as this was before mobile phone days lit their lighters and sang along to it. It was the most amazing, spine tingling moment I've ever experienced.

Thank you for all that have posted some lovely flash mobs. I've just lost the morning to it.

@MNHQ Why was my post deleted?

A Whole crowd singing, often is really uplifting and touches you.

MrsWhatToDo · 26/09/2018 17:30

OMG this happened at their Sheffield concert too. It was such a buzz to be part of.

ProudRavenclaw · 26/09/2018 17:32

It is beautiful and even more so when you’re one of the people in the crowd singing along. I was at their Leeds show last February and as soon as that song came on there was an eerie silence before Freddie started singing. It was incredible and weirdly emotional.

perfectstorm · 26/09/2018 17:45

If MNHQ delete a post, and a response quotes that deleted offensive post, then sometimes they delete it as well if they see it. It's a way to fully eliminate twattery. It's a shame as it doesn't always make the innocence of the respondent plain though - might that be at issue, here?

Thanks for the post OP. Starting chemo soon and things like this - things that remind me that most people are lovely, and the world is full of beauty in unexpected places - is incredibly helpful. You've made my evening. Flowers

Nousernamefound · 26/09/2018 17:47

I was there, it was amazing.

Dillydallyer · 26/09/2018 17:58

I grew up listening to Queen, my parents were huge fans. This is amazing. There is definitely something emotional about a crowd singing. Really not a football fan but I found sitting in The Kop at Anfield singing ‘You’ll never walk alone’ with tens of thousands of people goosebump worthy too.

Tinkerbell1980 · 26/09/2018 18:05

I bloody love this OP!!!

perfectstorm · 26/09/2018 18:12

@Nousernamefound ah, jealous! It does sound incredible. Really communal (and do you remember a few years ago, when they conflated thousands upon thousands of facial images, from all parts of the world, to create one archetypal human face, and it was beautiful? This sort of reminded me of that - some voices will have been stronger than others, but overall that sound was really wonderful. Reversion to beauty, in crowd form.

searose · 26/09/2018 18:13

Thanks for sharing the joy

Nousernamefound · 26/09/2018 18:15

@perfectstorm It was great, in fact the whole day was great and it didn’t rain so that always helps. Very lucky to have been there.

Toptheginup · 26/09/2018 18:18

It's stuff like this that makes me cry too, I've got goosebumps all over my body hearing that

LucyAutumn · 26/09/2018 18:23

Fab!

thebatman · 26/09/2018 18:27

This is why music is such a huge, important part of my life, it's ability to bring people together and to lift you out of even the shittiest day. I went to see Billy Bragg in Glasgow a few years back, his songs aren't exactly known for their singalongabilityness (that's a word, no need to Google it) Halfway through Between the Wars the audience, not a big venue 1500 people maybe, started singing it, not in a big shouty way but like a Choir, it was breathtaking, the only time in 35 years of gig going I have been moved to tears. Afterwards Billy said that it had given him goosebumps listening to it.

rangel67 · 26/09/2018 18:29

Absolutely, I'm an emotional wreck at any sort of performance, kids, stage shows, flash mobs, etc. This performance is absolutely awesome, in fact, my 11yo son, came over to see what I was watching, and proceeded to sing along 😍

sheldonesque · 26/09/2018 19:00

Sitting here crying.

There was something quite beautiiful about that op

Thank you Flowers

figelnarage · 26/09/2018 19:01

Thanks for sharing. Made me emotional too as Queen reminds me of my dad.

3out · 26/09/2018 19:11

Aww, fab! I saw this video earlier this summer on fb, but it said it was in Russia! 😂

MrsStrowman · 26/09/2018 19:27

I was there! Hyde park 2017, things like this are why i love open air music and festivals, this kind of thing is pretty common, but still amazing

Beautiful - thank you for sharing :-)

herethereandeverywhere · 26/09/2018 19:50

Love this.

It's this sort of thing that reminds me that THIS is what human beings are really like; are really capable of. We are exposed to so much news of conflict and harm and division and cruelty... and actually, put loads of us in the same place and we'll all sing like loons and have an amazing old unifying uplifting time.

Thanks for the +ve vibes OP.

RockNRollNerd · 26/09/2018 20:02

Not Queen but Freddie - this is an enchanting video that makes me happy cry every time. The sheer joy on Montserrat Caballe’s face is just wonderful
