to think this is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen?

This is the 65,000 strong crowd at a Greenday gig singing along to Queen as the venue music played before bands came on.

There is something so, so beautiful about the sheer joy of the entire crowd joining in to sing together, when not a single performer is on stage. It as enough to make me weep.

Is it just me who thinks this is a beautiful moment? Am I just flooded with new baby joy and hormones? Grin

*Someone told me recently that if left unconducted choirs, like crowds, will end up singing at a tempo that matches the human heartbeat.

What a wonderful thought Londonmummy.

Racecardriver · 25/09/2018 17:45

Kind of like if you had posted a pic of Tom Hardy iyswim? Everybody likes that but it's not what expect from the title

SchadenfreudePersonified · 25/09/2018 17:46

I was at the national Eucharistic Congress in Liverpool the other week and 6000 people singing 'sweet sacrament divine' was absolutely spine tingling.

The must have been amazing Toddlertea

Racecardriver, why not just not comment then?

GulagMilkMonitor · 25/09/2018 17:48

Racecardriver

I answered your question, you don’t like the answer. I don’t care.

Thanks for the Flashmob video, I’m now in a loop of lovely up lifting videos. I needed this today.

Now you've got me looking for Queen footage from Knebworth 86.
a) it's awesome
b) I am very old.

It was wonderful though. Thanks for inspiring me to look.

The OP shared something beautiful. Quite apt title.

Shame someone as vacuous and lacking in intelligence as you patently are can’t decipher the most basic of words. Do try harder.

CassandraCross · 25/09/2018 17:52

Yeah right Racecardriver the opening post read exactly like you interpreted it and full marks for the passive aggressive non apology.

ALovelyWoman · 25/09/2018 17:57

I thought that was lovely OP. I'm not even postnatal and it made me well up a bit.

Also the flash mob one. Really good! I want to be in a flash mob now....

Lovelylovelyllamas · 25/09/2018 18:01

Oh and while I'm at it, this flashmob makes me cry. The staff at the National Trust did it when Fiona Reynolds retired from the CEO role. Her face is priceless...

Womaningreen · 25/09/2018 18:02

Thank you for posting this OP Smile

BoJolly · 25/09/2018 18:05

@Lovelylovelyllamas

I was there.
It was amazing.

I am also very old Wink

BoJolly · 25/09/2018 18:07

x post.

I meant I was at Knebworth - not doing the Flashmob Grin

I've found my people! Choirs only have to start singing and I'm away. I love all the videos people have posted, especially the one of the National Trust staff singing to their retiring DG. I can't think of a more wonderful retirement gift.

Re the Hyde Park Queen singalong - which is lovely - did they project the words? Or was everyone in the audience word perfect?

I seem to remember seeing a Youtube video ages ago of a flashmob singing welcome home to people arriving in an airport, but I can't find it. Anyone recognise that?

Scatteredthoughtss · 25/09/2018 18:20

I read it thinking it was lighthearted too rather than a deep emotional investment and read racecardrivers post as just a joke.
It's an AIBU! Somebody posted one recently AIBU to hate the word uni, sometimes they are lighthearted.
I don't actually like this clip because for personal reasons too boring to go into I don't like the song at all, so YABU!

SleepingStandingUp · 25/09/2018 18:23

Does anyone watch X Factor? The choir group singing This Is Me gave me goose bumps

SomewhereNow · 25/09/2018 18:25

I was there (username might be a giveaway) but I’d forgotten about this. Something so powerful about the atmosphere and live music at events like that, totally get what you mean OP. Interestingly I also saw them at the O2 and while it was amazing Hyde Park was much better, I think it was being outside on a summer evening in London, hard to beat that in my book.

Whatsthisbear · 25/09/2018 18:26

@GulagMilkMonitor it brought me out in goosebumps when I first saw this clip so thank you for posting and reminding me.
Sorry you are having a bit of a crap time at the moment but you just made me snort coffee out of my nose with “ Dickhead achievement: unlocked.” Grin
Hope your 4yo & your injuries both heal soon Flowers

biscuitmillionaire · 25/09/2018 18:26

If you want to see/hear something genuinely incredibly moving, watch this scratch choir of 3000 people from different religions in Israel singing 'One day' about peace.

southnownorth · 25/09/2018 18:29

I found it moving as well OP Smile

Ignore the arseholes on here. Mumsnet is full of them at the moment.

Want2beme · 25/09/2018 18:30

Can't watch it. It's making me very tearful. It is lovely though.

Vandree · 25/09/2018 18:30

OP, that is beautiful. I always cry or end up teary when listening to choirs and some concerts. This one made me ugly cry after Dolores Riordan passed away. Its a very emotive song anyway but just hearing those many voices and I was a goner . I hope things get better for you lovey

Genderwitched · 25/09/2018 18:35

That is a lovely video OP, thank you for posting it. It made me very happy and I played it twice.

The most beautiful thing that I have ever seen, apart from my Dc of course, is the Trevi fountain. I don't know why really but the day that I was in Rome I was hot, tired and very stressed. I turned a corner and saw it there with the sunlight sparkling, and just burst into tears. Sometimes things just get you like that. And make you feel better.
