to think this is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen?

This is the 65,000 strong crowd at a Greenday gig singing along to Queen as the venue music played before bands came on.

There is something so, so beautiful about the sheer joy of the entire crowd joining in to sing together, when not a single performer is on stage. It as enough to make me weep.

Is it just me who thinks this is a beautiful moment? Am I just flooded with new baby joy and hormones? Grin

It's really lovely - makes me goosepimpley ... love flashmobs too - sorry you're having a rough time, it will get better - some people are just gits - ignore idiots

OliviaStabler · 25/09/2018 19:28

It's Queen. Always awesome.

I miss Freddie, even after all these years Sad

Couple of days ago. What happens when an orchestra's flight is delayed:

PerkingFaintly · 25/09/2018 19:31

And one of my favourite flashmobs:

jarhead123 · 25/09/2018 19:31

I'm with you OP

KnitFastDieWarm · 25/09/2018 19:31

@HemanOrSheRa the haka always gets me too! And the Icelandic football supporters’ chant. Something about human voices in unity is spine-tingling.

StrangeLookingParasite · 25/09/2018 19:38

Thank you for saying that to the race car person.

Thank you. It still got me deleted, though!

Thelastredwinegum · 25/09/2018 19:40

Choked up listening to that.

kungfupannda · 25/09/2018 19:42

I have now disappeared down a rabbit hole of Youtube flashmobs! There are a couple of cracking Les Miserables one, including an amazing version at a Danish wedding.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 25/09/2018 19:42

I watched it with my DH, we both weeped at the beauty of it, these moments make you realise there are some good in humanity

MsRinky · 25/09/2018 19:43

Oh, even though I can't watch any of the links at the moment, this is a lovely thread, and I shall watch them later. The positive power of crowds is a very life-affirming thing.

My contribution is this one - when a crowd of a thousand Italians did this Foo Fighter's song to persuade them to come and play a gig for them (spoiler - they did)

SchadenfreudePersonified · 25/09/2018 19:44

perking

Lovely!

And what always strikes me is how much sheer JOY we can see in the faces of the performers and the audience members - and if you lot are anything like me, you will be grinning away like half-wits with tears coursing down your cheeks!

If I haven't thanked anyone individually please believe it's just because there are so many - they're wonderful. We need more singing in the world.

I used to love little Gareth Thing and The Choir- wish it was still an ongoing programme.

Madmarchpear · 25/09/2018 19:45

I'm sobbingGrin. What a life affirming thing to be part of. Well jel.

GulagMilkMonitor · 25/09/2018 19:47

Thank you all for sharing your links! This thread is putting such a smile on my face.

This is terrific - a pub full of people at a wake singing Mr Brightside.

My moment like this was watching Muse at download festival a few years ago. They closed with Knights of Cydonia and 50,000 voices singing 'No-ones going to take me alive...' Still can't listen to it without getting all misty eyed! Things like this stay with you forever.

BartholinsSister · 25/09/2018 19:53

Is this what passes for a 'punk' gig these days?

Loonoon · 25/09/2018 19:57

There were things I had to do this evening but I’ve just sat and cried at all these links. Great thread OP.

Nissemand · 25/09/2018 20:00

I'm normally a 'music is just noise' person, but this is something else

Was a thing of beauty op

KnitFastDieWarm · 25/09/2018 20:00

BartholinsSister have you been to an Idles gig recently? Hmm it’s wall to wall joy and camaraderie and good feeling. Punk is joyful music!

Pigletpoglet · 25/09/2018 20:02

@perking - you beat me to it! This one is my favourite...

bushtailadventures · 25/09/2018 20:09

This is one I love, everyone singing, makes me cry every time

bushtailadventures · 25/09/2018 20:10

Forgot to thank you OP for this thread, I've watched, and enjoyed, every link.
