This is the 65,000 strong crowd at a Greenday gig singing along to Queen as the venue music played before bands came on.

There is something so, so beautiful about the sheer joy of the entire crowd joining in to sing together, when not a single performer is on stage. It as enough to make me weep.

Is it just me who thinks this is a beautiful moment? Am I just flooded with new baby joy and hormones? Grin

I have watched this video so many times since you posted, thank you (though I can't get this song out of my head now!). Smile

RockNRollNerd · 26/09/2018 20:08

Just to say re the video I posted stick with it if you don’t know the song, it gets going about two and a bit minutes in.

DanglyEarOrnaments · 26/09/2018 20:09

Thank you, so very beautiful

Andromeida59 · 26/09/2018 20:12

I love the mass "Learn to Fly" video. I always play it if I need cheering up. I think there is something wonderfully unifying about voices singing together.
I think was particularly demonstrated for me in Manchester after the minute's silence last year. Not long after the silence had ended people started singing "Don't look back in anger". It was the most extraordinary thing I'd ever witnessed. We went from feeling distraught to an overwhelming feeling of love, to me it was a symbol that of love and it was everything we needed at that point.

DailyMailWankers · 26/09/2018 20:14

Thanks for sharing. YANBU there is something lovely about this x

Binkytheslug · 26/09/2018 20:24

I saw Queen at Wembley in 1986. When they did Radio Ga Ga, I was in the midst of a sea of clapping hands, seemingly stretching as far as I could see in every direction. I can still feel that profound feeling of ‘something’- it’s never left me. Just a huge sense of one-ness.

frufru27 · 26/09/2018 20:26

I totally get it,sounds like a beautiful moment. I got a slight lump in my throat 💞

Mikklehaha · 26/09/2018 20:30

YANBU at all, almost any crowd singing together can make me well up. I cried in the stands at White Heart Lane at the crowd singing for Ginola, I wouldn’t mind but I support Chelsea 😂.
And as for a crowd of my fellow Brits singing their hearts out to Queen, that would just bowl me over.

Binkytheslug · 26/09/2018 20:36

I’ve been to several concerts like that. Live Aid too. A massive feeling that everyone had come together to DO something. Everyone there was united in purpose, and the feeling was that we could effect change- it ran through like a wave. I’d never felt that before. When I listen to Heroes, I’m instantly transported back.

Binkytheslug · 26/09/2018 20:37

So, no, YANBU by any stretch.

SingingSands · 26/09/2018 20:41

Absolutely agree, it's magical.

@Dillydallyer my DH is a Celtic fan and he was at this Liverpool v Celtic match in 2003... I was 8 months pregnant and the anthem just set me off in floods!

nannykatherine · 26/09/2018 20:42

where’s the baby then ?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 26/09/2018 20:42

Yanbu OP, thank you for posting it.

Ravenesque · 26/09/2018 21:01

I loved that so much. I was watching and thinking, will the headbanging happen? And it did! It was glorious and gave me all the feels.

And then Freddie and Montserrat and then Liverpool and Celtic.

I have so many shivers and such a big smile. Thank you all for all of the sharing!

Dexy1957 · 26/09/2018 21:05

Fabulous x

Never fails to make me smile...... and reminds me we have more in common than we think.....

Hope link works

Every Green Day gig is a wondrous thing, and to be singing in the crowd is pure joy. Thanks for this clip OP.

CanYouHearThePeopleSing · 26/09/2018 21:51

That NT retirement film is incredible. So many of those employees would have been completely outside their comfort zone, but they got involved and swept along through the power of music. There's nothing like it. I want to work somewhere like that!
And people singing BR like in the original clip just gets me every time. Amazing. Thanks OP for sharing.

MadisonAvenue · 26/09/2018 22:32

YourWinter couldn't agree more! I've seen them loads of times and have enjoyed every single moment. I took my husband once, under duress, and at the end he said it was the best gig he's ever been to and he's been to more with me since.

Shewhomustbeobeyed1 · 26/09/2018 23:02

Lump in the throat and soggy eyes. Living in Aus and missing London atm

MissesBloom · 27/09/2018 00:01

I'm the same. I sing with a choir and I got asked to start off a flash mob in kings cross st pancras station (will try and dig out the video) and I was physically shaking but the feeling was amazing!

The feeling of us all singing and dancing together makes you feel amazing. Especially when we do hallelujah...gives me goosebumps Blush

NothingsReal · 27/09/2018 00:12

I was there with me husband. Such a great day

AhCheeses · 27/09/2018 08:46

One of my favourite flash mobs was this one in Stockton at the council offices for a judging panel.
Always makes me smile 😊

Ah, AnnoyedinJanuary, that's properly special.

Thought "yeah, nice idea, done OK" when it started. Few minutes in and I was welling up. It just takes over.

Standrews · 27/09/2018 11:51

It's the sheer JOY of sharing, being of one mind for even a short time. I have sung in many choirs and at 80 still get the spine shivers.
