Why the language change? I know it's all about being trans-inclusive. But is it really trans-exclusive if Lunette had said menstruating woman or girl?

AIBU to say I'm a menstruating woman not a menstruating person?

Do we really have to do this every single day?

You are not hurt in any way by the use of inclusive language. So go and live your life and stop fomenting outrage where none is needed.

Speakupspeakout · 18/09/2018 09:56

You are not hurt in any way by the use of inclusive language But I am causing hurt to.others if I don't use it? That's my q really?

YANBU, I don't want to be referred to by my bodily functions. I am a masticator, a defecator, a breeder (according to INCELS). I don't know how menstruator is seen as acceptable, especially when women are being asked to keep quiet about their biology. Just another example of misogeny

PermanentlyFrizzyHairBall · 18/09/2018 09:59

Yawn. Does this really impact you in any way? Just be glad that your life is so stress free that you have time to worry about this kind of thing.

WhatIsThisTomfoolery · 18/09/2018 10:03

Lol

Inclusive language but then hashtags 'mother' earth!! I guess that will change next....'person earth' or some such rubbish!

Speakupspeakout · 18/09/2018 10:04

Still, as above pp, not actually answering my q

Yanbu, ridiculous, I cannot think of many others that have been so swiftly written into inclusive language on the scale that is happening to removing gender.

WhatIsThisTomfoolery · 18/09/2018 10:07

It will all change back in a few years

Noqont · 18/09/2018 10:10

Yanbu to say you are a woman who menstruates. After all, it's something that only biological woman do.

PositivelyPERF · 18/09/2018 10:11

Oh no! We must all just ignore the fact that the word woman is being erased, other than when men want to appropriate it, because it doesn’t affect us. 😒

However, we must all use ‘inclusive’ language so we don’t hurt the feelings of confused people who want to live a fantasy. 😒

In other words ‘be quiet non men, you have no say in this! Only the woke get to have a say’. They can fuck off, if they think this will encourage women with any common sense, to buy their products.

PositivelyPERF · 18/09/2018 10:12

Btw, yes we WILL have this every single day, until the woke stop shitting all over women and our rights and opinions.

leafgrass · 18/09/2018 10:14

Surely, even if a person agrees with self ID, a woman can declare she is a woman and menstruating!

TheActualLastJedi · 18/09/2018 10:14

You can call yourself and identify yourself as whatever the fuck you want to this day and age OP didn't you know? 😂

I'm a menstruating apachi attack helicopter 🚁 and I'll shout down anyone who says otherwise!!

World's gone mad...

Noqont · 18/09/2018 10:15

Btw, yes we WILL have this every single day, until the woke stop shitting all over women and our rights and opinions

Yes to this. Absolutely.

PositivelyPERF · 18/09/2018 10:17

a menstruating apachi attack helicopter 🚁 that could be messy! 🤣

TooTrueToBeGood · 18/09/2018 10:17

I'm outraged at them assigning gender to "mother"earth. What a bunch of cunts non-gender specific genitals.

drspouse · 18/09/2018 10:20

Because it has become as if "women" is a dirty word.
I don't want the name for what I am to be a dirty word.

Umpteenthingsclean · 18/09/2018 10:21

Ok. I'm a man so I'm aware my opinion is completely worthless, but surely if you're menstruating, then you are a woman, meaning they're effectively synonymous?

ilovesooty · 18/09/2018 10:24

we WILL have this every single day

Evidently.

TooTrueToBeGood · 18/09/2018 10:24

Ok. I'm a man so I'm aware my opinion is completely worthless, but surely if you're menstruating, then you are a woman, meaning they're effectively synonymous?

So why not just say "menstruating woman" or even just "menstruating" then? "Menstruating person" is so blatantly contrived it would be laughable if the current public debate wasn't so not a source of humour.

Umpteenthingsclean · 18/09/2018 10:26

I couldn't agree more. Clearly my point wasn't made properly.

You shouldn't have to differentiate, because you are what you are and no amount of PC do-goodery will change that.

Helmetbymidnight · 18/09/2018 10:26

Why not just say 'woman'?

Juells · 18/09/2018 10:29

WOMAN. The word is woman. I don't care if some people think it's not important. Would any company seriously describe men as prostate-havers?

paintedwingsandgiantrings · 18/09/2018 10:31

Ok. I'm a man so I'm aware my opinion is completely worthless, but surely if you're menstruating, then you are a woman, meaning they're effectively synonymous?

You would think so, wouldn't you?

Trans rights activists say we're being transphobic, are "TERFs" and deserve to "die, cis scum!" for saying women have periods.

Their line is that "transwomen are women but they don't menstruate" and "some men have periods" as women who ID as men may still bleed (if they haven't taken enough testosterone / had their wombs removed).

There is an aggressive colonisation of womanhood and our language happening right now, by men who keep their penises but who want to ID as women.

It might sound ridiculous, but governments across the world are going along with this shit.

Note my careful language above, by the way. Transactivists don't say transwomen menstruate, but many of them insist they have periods, just without the bleeding. Hmm

Umpteenthingsclean · 18/09/2018 10:33

My wife has introduced me to this site and I am gobsmacked at the things she tells me about trans people and the way women's rights are stepped upon.

I'm sorry if I've misworded above as I was only trying to say that surely anyone menstruating must be a woman.
