I got this from an antique shop and I love it but my DH is not too sure and I want to know if it is just me that likes it. It is nearly 80 years old.

I love it, my partner would hate it!

Zintox · 07/09/2018 17:19

Ugh. It's awful. Not my taste at all.

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 07/09/2018 17:19

The sofa and armchair are nice shapes but the fabric’s pretty hideous, IMO. If I’d bought them cheaply, I’d get them reupholstered. But if you love them, what does it matter?

WhiteCat1704 · 07/09/2018 17:19

I hate it. My grandmother would like it.

lonalsland · 07/09/2018 17:20

I like it in that setting- I wouldn't like it if more patterns were added. I'm also a lover of antiques

formerbabe · 07/09/2018 17:20

Awful...Sorry!

BitchQueen90 · 07/09/2018 17:20

Not my cup of tea at all but I like ultra modern stuff. Just depends on your tastes.

Madmarchpear · 07/09/2018 17:20

It's absolutely divine. Husband would have me sectioned.

PlateOfBiscuits · 07/09/2018 17:20

As two separate pieces (ie just the sofa) and with the right decor/room vibe it could be fantastic. But together and in a beige room (sorry), it’s not for me.

Bluecloudyskies · 07/09/2018 17:21

Oh I bet it’s seen some action over the years! Grin

rudehealth · 07/09/2018 17:21

If it was in a grander or more quirkier surroundings - then I’d quite like.

However the surrounds look like a rather bland front room. And consequently it looks drab rather than quirky.

RatherBeRiding · 07/09/2018 17:21

I agree that in that setting they are lovely. But with a clashing colour scheme or more patterns it would look hideous. Plain cushions would help tone it down a bit.

PickAChew · 07/09/2018 17:21

Not entirely my bag, but it's crying out for a glamorous sitting room with not a trace of beige or grey to match! You need a big, ornate brass framed mirror behind it.

Kattyy · 07/09/2018 17:22

Nope. Not for me. Would pay to get it outta the house.

Floralnomad · 07/09/2018 17:22

It wouldn’t be something I’d choose , although I do think the sofa is a nice shape I couldn’t live with that fabric .

WeShouldOpenABar · 07/09/2018 17:22

Hideous

BastardGoDarkly · 07/09/2018 17:23

Jesus fucking wept that's hideous.

(Sorry op)

Did your partner agree to that eyesore it?

Madmarchpear · 07/09/2018 17:24

Needs era appropriate friends in that room mind.

ShalomJackie · 07/09/2018 17:24

Get some funky orange paint on the wall. The roo is too blah for the suite. With the right walls and floor covering (get a rug if you can't afford to replace the carpet).

InDubiousBattle · 07/09/2018 17:24

I don't think I could live with that for even one day! It's a nice shape but needs to be reupholstered.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 07/09/2018 17:25

The shapes are nice, but the fabric is a bit gordy.

Soontobe60 · 07/09/2018 17:25

I've got a similar one to this but it's a new one. I hate it now! It's so uncomfortable for me with short legs, but my DH finds it really comfortable. It does look lovely in our Victorian house, but I want comfort.

Dontsweatthelittlestuff · 07/09/2018 17:25

I like the shape but not the fabric and I don’t think it goes well with the cabinet behind

Smellybean · 07/09/2018 17:25

I would Keep one or The other. Not together. But I do like it and can really make it work with some modern decor to bring it up do date.

HeadsDownThumbsUpEveryone · 07/09/2018 17:25

Another one agreeing with you Husband, it's pretty grotesque. It also makes the room look very dark and small due to its colours, although it is a nice size and shape so if you reupholstered it, it could be fabulous.
