IT'S NOT A BLOODY RULING. IT'S A RECOMMENDATION.

THERE IS A DIFFERENCE.

SluttyButty · 25/07/2018 21:56

I we t out today into a supermarket and I was shivering. I do have medical shit so YABU and stop judging!

noselimit · 25/07/2018 21:56

Shouting doesn't make you right Grin

ILikeyourHairyHands · 25/07/2018 22:03

Being completely wrong and wilfully misunderstanding the English language doesn't make you right either!

BarbaraOcumbungles · 25/07/2018 22:05

sensible people overseeing the units.

I guess that's as your were at a committee meeting last night you have some input in to the running of the unit? I don't think a sensible person would ignore the Ministry of Defence of matters of defence. The people who run our unit are all very nice but are completely unqualified to make the decision to ignore the MODs reccomendation that is trying to keep their children out of danger.

I'd guess if you didn't know the recommendation from the MOD that the parents don't either because the information hasn't been relayed back to them? I wouldn't my children in the care of anyone so reckless and foolhardy.

Cast your mind back to Lee Rigby.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 25/07/2018 22:05

DD's worn her denim jacket every day this week. People are looking like HmmConfused at her.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 25/07/2018 22:06

Zero cowering. Zero fear. 100% sensible attitude and respect for the rules

100% scaremongering and respect for no actual rules. Because (I'll say it again), it's not a rule, it's a recommendation.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 25/07/2018 22:10

I will cast my mind back to Lee Rigby. Who was in civvies at the time he was attacked.

Five years ago.

Near an army barracks.

In London.

alltoomuchrightnow · 25/07/2018 22:12

When I managed shops, especially charity shops, there were always shop lifters with coats on. Of course it just made them stand out... so they didn't often get away with stuffing their coats, not in summer anyway

LeighaJ · 25/07/2018 22:15

OkMaybeNot

"Man's not hot."

Forty degrees and man's not hot. Grin

GoatWithACoat · 25/07/2018 22:15

I work in a care home. All the elderly people are wearing jumpers and coats today. Some of them are still moaning about being cold!

LeighaJ · 25/07/2018 22:18

@Metoodear

They were prolly going to shop at ALDI. It's always freezing in there.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 25/07/2018 22:19

Anyway, that was a massive thread derailment, I think it has been amply proved that it isn't terrorist-aware cadets that are wearing coats in this weather.

As they get changed at the unit.

noselimit · 25/07/2018 22:39

Being completely wrong and wilfully misunderstanding the English language doesn't make you right either!

Oh I'm not wrong. I have absolutely got this. 100%. I totally understand the language. I also understand your numerous attempts to be right do not actually make you right.

noselimit · 25/07/2018 22:40

100% scaremongering and respect for no actual rules. Because (I'll say it again), it's not a rule, it's a recommendation.

Keep going......

But I'm not scaremongering.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 25/07/2018 22:41

O.K.

It's still not an MoD ruling though

noselimit · 25/07/2018 22:42

I will cast my mind back to Lee Rigby. Who was in civvies at the time he was attacked.

Cast it back to the fact that they killed him because he was a soldier.

User64zoolane · 25/07/2018 22:43

Sorry haven't read full thread but...

My DS is tiny and swims (regularly) in a freezing pool! When he comes out he dons a massive hoody jumper to help him warm up which he will wear outside in the sweltering heat until his little body thaws out :) (makes me hot just looking at him!)

LadyRussell · 25/07/2018 22:43

I have seen ladies wearing tights ffs 🤢

Underhiseye2 · 25/07/2018 22:44

Maybe they are popping to Waitrose for some dairy items

llangennith · 25/07/2018 22:47

Getting back to the point of this thread (wtf has it got to do with nutters who kill???) I've been sweltering for days. I really do suffer in this heat. Meanwhile DGS 13yo had his fleece on with the hood up over his headphones when we made a brief trip to buy him shorts today. It's going to be 35 here tomorrow🙈

ILikeyourHairyHands · 25/07/2018 22:50

I am completely giving up with this discussion Nose, your brand of logic is hard to argue with!

AsAProfessionalFekko · 25/07/2018 22:51

I watched someone jogging around a track in long trousers under his shorts and one of those lightweight down jackets yesterday (all black). He had the hood up and must've been melting.

Gwenhwyfar · 25/07/2018 22:55

Went out today without a jacket as it was warm, thinking I'd be home by 8pm. Stayed out till 10 and really wished I had a jacket (prob under 20 degrees here now). So anyone staying out late might at least carry a jacket with them.

Gwenhwyfar · 25/07/2018 22:57

"I wear jeans because I can’t be arsed shaving my legs. When they get done, I enjoy shorts and dresses for a week and then it’s back to jeans"

This is really. Wear summer trousers or very long dresses. Surely you can see that there are more appropriate options that also cover your legs?
