To ask how much you are paying for your Summer holiday?

How much do you/are you paying for your Summer holiday? What will you be doing? Abroad, UK, camping or hotel or cottage etc. How long for?

I just want to know if my holidays are very expensive.

The last few years we've been going to the same place and renting fab little cottages, the location is ideal for us and the places we've rented have been lovely, home from home.

A few people have been shocked at how much we've paid but I think they are kidding themselves to think you'd get equivalent in the school holidays for any less.

Ours is about £, 3800 for two adults cruising the Med for 14 nights. Doesn't include spending money

lostherenow · 03/04/2018 21:02

About £200 all in. Long weekend in a caravan. Kids will love it. Well will love it... less.

macnab · 03/04/2018 21:03

We're going to Spain for 2 weeks during school holidays, have booked a 2-bed house with a communal pool in a lovely location. Total cost £1,500 and we'll spend about that again on eating out and food for the house etc.

edwinbear · 03/04/2018 21:04

£7k all inclusive to Mexico for 2 adults and DC of 8 & 6.

Passthecake30 · 03/04/2018 21:05

£3k 10 days in lanzarote, 2 adults, 2 dcs under 12. Self catering, so will most likely add another £1.2k on the top of that with eating out in the evenings, drinks and ice cream.

Justgivemesomepeace · 03/04/2018 21:06

£1800 in August to France for 2 weeks. We will be self-catering, a week each in two different cottages. The first has a private pool but no pool at the second one so it's cheaper. Overnight ferry travel included but we will have to pay petrol and food. The journey isn't too long and we don't really eat out so hoping £750 or so should be enough spending money.

We do this sort of holiday every year. I looked at flying somewhere but it costs so much if you want to stay in a house, which we prefer.

Stillgameforalaugh · 03/04/2018 21:06

8 nights in lovely 2 bed cottage. 390 quid. We go every year as we love it and can't find anything as good

MinnieMousse · 03/04/2018 21:07

Should have said we are 2 adults and 2 kids.

Mymouthgetsmeintrouble · 03/04/2018 21:07

This year we cant afford much , £200 for a mon-fri uk holiday camp in may we normally have much nicer holidays but im sure the children will have a lovely time and we are lucky as many families cant afford any holiday

Doje · 03/04/2018 21:08

£2k end June, 2 adults and 2 kids all inclusive.

It'll be our first holiday abroad since having the kids, so I'm excited and apprehensive. I've never spent so much on a holiday! We've always booked last minute before.

sweetkitty · 03/04/2018 21:19

3K for 2 adults 4DC to Spain for 7 days full board

Blondephantom · 03/04/2018 21:26

Camping in France for two weeks. Spent £400 ish on campsites. Two different sites, both with pools. Eurotunnel cost £150. Will need to pay for fuel for the car and food/activities for us. Two adults, a teen and two kids. We eat out a bit and cook in the tent a bit too. Shopping in a foreign supermarket and trying different things is so much fun that it would be a shame to miss out. Plus there is something special about settling in for an early night under canvas sometimes. If you like camping obviously - it would be hell for some people. Then gain some people’s choices would be sheer hell for me. My ex husband’s idea of a good holiday was somewhere all inclusive and sitting at the side of a pool drinking all day. Nothing wrong with that but I’d be bored silly.

Holidays are such a personal choice and are always money well spent - no matter how small or large the budget.
