So, Ryanair and Thomas Cook are inserting clauses in their booking terms to say that if your flight abroad doesn't go ahead because of Brexit that's your problem. No doubt others will follow. If any deal is ever done, to allow planes to fly, it is bound to be a lot more expensive than it is now.

They are just being sensible. No-one knows what is going to happen next march, there is no plan, no roadmap. The terms and conditions have to reflect that.

Well, it's possible you would need a visa to go to Europe after Brexit, and not everyone would get one, so some people could be trapped, I suppose? I would say unlikely, but certainly possible.

People aren't going to buy plane tickets if they think there is a real risk that all flights will be cancelled. Likewise, airlines won't commit to flights if they think that they may not go ahead. Time is running out.
The tourism industry in this country is going to suffer a massive hit. It's already suffering now, as the UK has destroyed its previously good public image.

All the agreements to use airspace are EU wide at the moment and would have to be entered into by the U.K. on its own which may take a while. Ferries might work subject to visas etc.

Obviously I'm talking about the EU. Where most people go for their holidays.

Unlikely but as with so much else Brexit related we simply don’t know for certain.
You would like to think that with a bit of common sense it could be sorted quickly but at this stage nobody knows what will happen

Won’t be panicking just yet. Might be a good time to have a fabulous holiday in Cornwall come to think of it. Maybe U.K. holidays will sell out quickly. Better start panic buying a U.K. holiday.

Brittanyspears. The British are not the only people that brings money through tourism into the EU. I don't know what the percentage is and I an sure it is a significant amount but I am fairly sure that it is not the major source of income for tourist destinations in the EU.
If this thing with airlines does happen, EU tourists will also have the same problem with coming to Britain as tourists and the impact on the income from tourism for Britain will also not be insignificant.

I (and many others) travelled widely in Europe before the EU. No visas were required. I'm sure we'll cope again!!

I actually work in tourism, and we are already suffering a big reduction in interest from EU visitors. If the issue with flights is not sorted very soon, we will probably go out of business.
So concrete information from you would be great.

I don't think we'll be trapped per se, but it might certainly get harder/more expensive to fly out to the EU27 from the UK. And travel restrictions may well increase (applying and waiting for expensive visas etc).

ohno - strangely, you telling people that no information is needed doesn't really help us, does it? Do you know more than the owner of Ryannair? If you do, please do put him right, because he is clearly extremely worried. As am I. You know, needing money to buy food (already a lot more expensive than it used to be), etc etc.
