Urgh he makes me vom.

And I don't believe he is a woman. He just wants to be treated differently.

He is a vile disgusting sociopath.

araiwa · 28/12/2017 17:14

i cant see anywhere in that article that suggests he is a woman?

he has feminised his name and maybe he wears some make up to look more feminine

RavenLG · 28/12/2017 17:17

“Huntley was not planning transitioning to switch gender.”

She wants to transition into a woman so that she can be transferred into a woman's estate. She is to be known no longer as Ian Huntley.

To dead name her will be seen as transphobic.

StrawBasket · 28/12/2017 17:19

a minority position for sure..
I don't advocate anything, but I don't give a damn what happens to that individual once he is locked away for good.

Lancelottie · 28/12/2017 17:21

That’s just one newspaper reporting what another paper said, though, without backup, back in February.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 28/12/2017 17:23

Elendon All current reports say that he DOES NOT want to transition. He just wants to be called Lian!

He is despicable enough without misunderstandings!

Not to be acknowledged as any sort of human would surely be best?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 28/12/2017 17:24

You'll be happy to note that I did/do refer to him as he! Smile

Elendon · 28/12/2017 17:24

Can you link to those 'current' reports? Curious

Insomnibrat · 28/12/2017 17:24

Great. Here we go with another 1000 reply Trans thread.

WhatALoadOfBaubles · 28/12/2017 17:24

so youre a rape advocate? a minority position for sure

This is the child murdering Ian Huntley we're talking about here. I'd advocate absolutely anything terrible happening to HIM

Shockers · 28/12/2017 17:25

I don’t believe his wants should be pandered to, whether they’re genuine or not.

I can’t imagine the distress this must be causing the families of his victims.

If you want the freedom to make such choices about your life, stay out of prison.

Elendon · 28/12/2017 17:26

Surely all he needs to do to transition now is to call himself Lian though?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 28/12/2017 17:26

As in all of the updates, round ups and rehashing of the year's 'news' Elendon.

Lots from a quick Google search. Nothing new, just a lot of blather about a man who nobody needs give further thought to!

Andrewofgg · 28/12/2017 17:30

If he wants to call himself Shirley and paint his face purple I don't care.

But to advocate anyone being raped by anyone is out of order - whatever s/he has done. WhatALoadOfBaubles would you say the same about Rose West?

wherethevioletsgrow · 28/12/2017 17:30

This is quite an old article. Why start a thread about it now? I very much doubt that Ian Huntley (whether he calls himself Lian or not) will be stepping foot in a women's prison any time soon. It doesn't work like that.

MarmaladeIsMyJam · 28/12/2017 17:33

Such an old article Hmm

ATeardropExplodes · 28/12/2017 17:33

This is quite an old article. Why start a thread about it now?

Is there a limit on how old something needs to be without being able to look at it in a new light?

The proposed changes to the GRA say that anyone could realign their gender and gain additional rights. Just wondering whether this particular case, it could be anyone, could be argued for the proposition in the OP.

Bluntness100 · 28/12/2017 17:37

God this is nearly a year old. Why dig it out and start a thread about it. Nothing has come of it since then and he can call himself what he pleases. Who gives a shit.

Lovesagin · 28/12/2017 17:41

You're an utter transphobe op. A man says they are a woman that's it, we all have to believe it and it's literal violence to say otherwise and violates his human rights and feelings.

And yes it will work like that when the new dawn is ushered in.

wherethevioletsgrow · 28/12/2017 17:42

Is there a limit on how old something needs to be without being able to look at it in a new light?

No, you are right. But is this really looking at it in a new light? Usually links to new articles are very recent ones so I was a little surprised.

But no, I do not think that Ian Huntley is a woman is the answer to your question.

I think that even if the reforms come in, Ian Huntley will not be moved to a women's prison and from the article it seems that he would not request this either. In Scotland there are already rules stating that prisoners should be permitted to express their chosen gender regardless of having a GRC. This does NOT equate to a right to be moved to the prison of your choice. In the vast majority of cases it means you do your 'expressing' in the appropriate prison, which for violent male offenders is a men's prison.
