Longleat Center Parcs, taking £600 a night to be on a 24hr building site! Aaagghh

We are currently staying at Longleat centre parcs. Having saved for this for a year, it's costing an eye watering £600 a night for 4 nights. Total £2400.

What we weren't told was our villa was opposite a 24 hour construction site. Which, as I type is sounding like smashing bottles being thrown into a bottle bank crossed with several generators running.

I'm fuming, no sleep possible and we have 4 children to entertain tomorrow.

AIBU to have expected Center Parks not to have booked out our villa knowing this. Or at very least warned us.

Any advice? We've called customer services at 2am to be told that extra work was being carried out!

I'd expect a refund for tonight at the very least. That's appalling.

What on earth is going on with this, and the thread about bedrooms closed off in a holiday house, AND the thread about a 5-star hotel with furniture piled in the corridors? People are just taking the piss!

I agree. Video and pics and then go to town on Twitter with them, inclyuding the useless response from their "help" line.

Frankly I would expect a full refund if its like this for the whole stay. No swimming pool with a sunroof would make up for absolutely no sleep.

No warning at all. We expected construction to finish around 5pm but it continued......

Still banging and crashing and it's now 3.15

We have videos and I've made several call to customer services who have logged my complaint. They say they have driven over and witnessed the noise first hand and are writing it up for us to complain officially tomorrow.

I'd start posting on Facebook, trip advisor & Twitter. Do not swear, be emotive etc. Be factual, polite, but post evidence. You'll get a resolution asap!

That's horrendous. I hope you get some fairly substantial redress tomorrow.

I know nothing about CenterParcs. Are they always that expensive??

I'd be tempted to go and get a Premier Inn near somewhere with an indoor swimming pool quite honestly.

At least customer services seem helpful...make sure you keep a record of everything they say and send you.

£600 a night? exactly what would you get for your money? I'd expect diamond encrusted service including a bloke to scrub my back and a built in childrens entertainer 24/7

I don't mind paying £600 a night for us all. But I do expect it to meet standards.
We need 4 bedrooms and it comes with a sauna and daily housekeeping service who wash my dishes

It's usually a very good family experience and we get quality time with the children who all have different ideas as to what makes a good holiday. It ticks the boxes of each child. In fact the children got together and voted for this holiday as they enjoyed the last two so much.

Still no sleep, I'm shattered. tomorrow (today) I'm going to get this sorted out.

Christ, that's eye wateringly expensive and you're definitely not BU at all. I'd inisist on my money back and being moved. A free meal as a "sorry for the inconvenience" at that price also wouldn't go amiss.

Sounds a complete nightmare, definitely push for a full refund and new accommodation.

YABU for paying such outrageous prices in the first place.

OMG you poor thing. What a horrible time. Hope they move you in the morning to a nice quiet spot.

I am off to Elvedon next week and have paid £1300 for a week for the 3 of us. I would be fuming too, thats no break having that. Even in day time hours who the hell would want to be stuck listening to building?! No do not let this drop. I would expect nothing less than a full refund.

Definitely don't just accept a move. You need at least refund for yesterday (too noisy), last night and today (too tired to enjoy). And don't let this drop.
