Longleat Center Parcs, taking £600 a night to be on a 24hr building site! Aaagghh

We are currently staying at Longleat centre parcs. Having saved for this for a year, it's costing an eye watering £600 a night for 4 nights. Total £2400.

What we weren't told was our villa was opposite a 24 hour construction site. Which, as I type is sounding like smashing bottles being thrown into a bottle bank crossed with several generators running.

I'm fuming, no sleep possible and we have 4 children to entertain tomorrow.

AIBU to have expected Center Parks not to have booked out our villa knowing this. Or at very least warned us.

Any advice? We've called customer services at 2am to be told that extra work was being carried out!

I'm not happy at all.

Sorry to miss the point, but £2400 for four nights? Really? Three of us are going to Crete for five days all inclusive for £1800.

Crikey - people should really read the whole thread.

It is £600 per night for 4 double/twin bedrooms, that equals £150 per night, per bedroom in peak season. It also has I think a hot tub or sauna and game room.

It is not comparable with everyone sharing a small hotel room in a hotel.

We are spending £950 for a 2 bedroom cottage in Cornwall without on site swimming pool or restaurants ( hopefully less noisy though).

The cost is not the point of this thread, other than the OP expecting a relaxing break at that price.

Hear hear rookie!

Christ, I wish folk would read a thread before posting. Yes, I, talking about you lot up there still going on about the cost. This has been addressed several times by the OP.

rookiemere · 28/07/2017 19:03

Also talking about cost I remember last year when we stayed at the Cornwall Forest holidays using the last of our membership points ( sadly defunct scheme) the going rate for a 2 bed villa in August was £2000 and this is with no access to excellent swimming pool and half the size of OPs villa.

Rachie1986 · 28/07/2017 19:47

Glad it's resolved. Presume you aren't allowed to share details of what they offered?

CandleWithHair · 28/07/2017 21:23

OP how did the last meeting with guest services go?

Ginkypig · 29/07/2017 12:41

How did they conclude things with you in the end mumble?

Glad your home and hope you've caught up on your sleep!

mcdog · 06/08/2017 14:53

What was the generous offer??? I've been waiting all week for an update!!

cowssheephens · 06/08/2017 15:06

I would love an update OP.

Libitina · 06/08/2017 15:29

It's great that they came to an agreement. Eventually.

Why couldn't CP put their hands up at the beginning and own it? It would have saved the OP a lot of angst during what should have been a nice relaxing break.

milliemolliemou · 06/08/2017 15:48

I'd like to hear more about the offer, too, but I guess it came with some promise from OP not to publicize it (or criticize CP in the future?). And to whichever PP posted about her miracle dad who worked in customer relations and knew how to complain - has he written a book about it?

MaverickSnoopy · 06/08/2017 15:52

Yes I think you're probably right but without more information I'm left thinking that CP have poor customer service and could do the same to me. And I say that as someone who has recently been and had a good experience and was thinking of rebooking.
