Should they have offered to have washed clothes with vomit on?

We went to see the inlaws. For various reasons we don't stay with them however relations are good and they seem to genuinely love DS (age 1).
We didn't stay in their town, but 15 mins away and about 5 mins away from SILs.

DS was horrendously sick when we arrived In our hotel bedroom. Both our clothes and the surrounding area were covered in vomit. So much so we had to buy new clothes as the handwashed ones didn't dry.

We spoke to MIL at various points in the day namely to ensure that we went to the dinner (in a restaurant in the town where we were staying). We did and DS vomitted there too a few times leaving us both drentched in vomit again.

Since coming home I've been thinking it would have been nice if MIL or even SILs had offered to have washed our clothes or even just DS's or even when we saw them this afternoon said something along the lines of " you could have washed your clothes here, we have a washing machine and a dryer". As it was they didn't offer and I didn't ask. It has got me thinking if IABU to at least hope they would offer? FWIW I would have offered.

Missing the point entirely but I wouldn't have gone to the dinner.
But that aside, maybe they thought that because you didn't ask you were coping fine?

I'm more thinking you were BU for taking a clearly sick child to a restaurant.

I wouldn't have waited for them to offer, I would have asked "can I just rinse these in the utility sink and pop them in machine on a quick cycle?"

Could they really have said no?

Maybe they assumed you had plenty of spare clothes? I normally do when visiting overnight with dd,and if I don't...i ask .

I don't get it?
A) why didn't you just ask one of them? They aren't physic. They probably assumed you had washed or had plenty spare

B) why would you take a child who had vomited so much you were both covered to a restaurant? Now half your family, half those eating and staff will probably also get ill

Same as early30smum - there is 48 hour curfew for D&V for a reason, maybe ILs wanted nothing to do with the offending items.

Hey oh why did you take an ill child to a restaurant so your DS could vomit on you again and spread it to everyone else in the area? Sorry, realise slightly of the Q but I really hate it when parents do that. I would have thought it nice for someone to have offered and a shame that they didn't help you out under the circumstances X

I wouldn't have taken a sick child to dinner. I don't believe in sharing certain things and sickness bugs are on that list.

But I would also have thought nothing of asking if I could use the washer.

This whole situation is odd.

Perhaps since you were out and about, you were coping. Perhaps they felt you would have been offended (plenty dont like their mils offering to do anything), perhaps thry thought you would ask if you needed help.

You didn't think about it till afterwards so why are you surprised they didn't think to offer.
You should have just asked.
Although if they don't have a drier and you'd already hand washed the clothes then there's not much they could help with.

Should you even have been at the restaurant? When we have come down with vomiting bugs in hotels we hole up and look after ourselves in an effort not to spread it around.
Why didn't you ask? Surely you could have just said 'can I pop round in the morning and do a load of laundry - it will save me buying more as we are completely out?'
Hotel laundry service is usually pretty good, but travelling with small kids and vomit is an occupational hazard. Someone always get noro at some point. We usually came home with oodles of clean unworn clothes because we had been caught out a few times. But better safe than sorry.
