To not get slippers?

I just don't understand the need for slippers. I know people get cold feet...I do...so I wear socks.

If I need to go outside I put on shoes or flip flops...I wouldn't go outside in slippers and then wear them on the carpets...

My friend is insistent her children wear slippers indoors all the time.

She says they might slip over on the floor...mine never slipped! We, like her have hard floors...if their feet are all day in shoes and slippers, when do they get a chance to...I don't know...be free!?

I luffs slippers, I have all kinds of novelty ones. When I was at university, I was surprised to see people in my hall of residence wearing big animal-shaped ones - even the boys wore them! I jumped on the bandwagon, and got a pair shaped like big sharks with "where's my dinner" written on them. I used to wear them in bed.

Now my favourite pair is some scarlet Victoria's Secret ones I was given as a prezzie; one labelled "naughty", the other labelled "nice". I imagine some people of a certain age don't like slippers because there was always the fear of being smacked with one as a kid; I was never smacked with a slipper as a kid, but I sometimes think of it when I see the "naughty" one.

I pay no heed to fungal woes - I always wear slippers without socks, and I sometimes do the same with trainers as well (I don't do invisible socks), call me gross if you like! If they need some fresh air I put them in a covered area in the garden.

My labrador somehow splashes water all over the entire kitchen floor every time he has a drink, there is no worse feeling than putting on a fresh pair of warm fluffy socks the standing in a pool of water/labrador drool so slippers are a necessity to me!

Anyway, Uggs in winter, Moroccan babouches in spring, summer and autumn -turquoise right now.

We live in a flat with a PITA neighbour downstairs, so no shoes on in the house. We just have a shoe rack near the front door with room for 2 pairs each.
Shoes off, slippers on.
Crocs for the kids, cushioned flipflops or felted ones for the grownups.
I'm lusting after a pair of these mahabis with removable outside sole, though...

What's not to understand? Some people's feet get colder than others, some houses are colder than others. I get cold feet and don't like paying for stuffy heating. So I wear soft-soled sheepskin boots indoors, with a proper-soled backup pair by the door in case I need to go outside. In the summer I wear sheepskin flip-flops. I feel all wrong with bare feet!

My DC, however, will happily walk around barefoot on freezing floors (weirdos).

No to slippers here too + do have Wood floors. My two DS & DD have them but rarely wear them. Love my Birkenstocks in the summer & always hv spare pairs by the front & back doors to nip outside if needed. Just prefer to walk around barefoot - do snuggle up in the sofa if chilly though. Sleep naked + with my feet out of the quilt most of the night so perhaps just my funny body temperature!

Personal preference as my feet get cold just socks. Also I have legs different lengths so walk marginally better in slippers than socks

According to my granny, if you walk around in bare feet you might die. We had to wear slippers all the time. Going out without a hat was also dangerous.

I wear crocs - I know, I know, but I have really bad foot problems, plantar fasciitis and other things & crocs are brilliant - but someone needs to make some that don't look like utter shite. I wear socks if my feet don't scream when I stand up.

We have wooden floors and a dog
Even with a daily hoover and/or sweep, socks would end up covered in hair and general floor muck
Slippers are lovely and toasty

I have the hands and feet of a corpse - currently warming hands on laptop and feet on hot water bottle.

Mostly I wear socks and change them if I feel like they are getting dirty. I can't deal with slipper slippers but I do wear ballet slippers around the house sometimes (extra helpful when work was being done on the house and bits of tile and plaster got everywhere).

Our Dane is the same. Water seems to get sucked up into his flews when he has a drink, and then it pours like a bloody fountain dribbles out as he -lurches clumsily moves away from the bowl.

Another one with furry lined zip up slipper boots too - mine go in the washer every now and again, but I do usually wear socks with them. I think I got mine from Aldi or Lidl years ago for about £7
They protect my feet from random shite dropped or spilt on the floor, and help support my feet. I've had Plantar thingummy too, and now have arthritis. We have hard floors, and my feet would freeze with out them. They have hard soles, so I do pop through to the garage in them - washer and dryer out there. I have prettier slippers for hospital or hotels.

We have concrete floors and cant afford carpet. We wear slippers indoors and have slip ons for running out to the bins. For going out, we wear shoes.

Omg I love my slippers! I get through at last 2 pairs a year. I wear them all year round - except on those rare occasions we have a heat wave. We all have slippers in our house but I'm the only one who wears them religiously.

I have a couple of foot problems and am currently wearing totes isotonoer slippers which I love.

I can't be without my slippers! Especially on our hardwood floor. My feet get really cold and if my feet are cold the rest of me feels cold 👍🏻

Never got slippers. Now we live in a big drafty house and having warm slippered feet delays significantly the point at which we have to put the heating on.

I badly want Mahabis for Christmas.
