to vote UKIP?

runnerBeanee · 03/04/2014 09:02

Over time I have warmed to UKIP. I see the other parties as self serving bullshitters. Recently I looked at schools for dd, every local school is bursting at the seams, bulge years etc and it's likely I won't get a school of choice. I've been told be teachers and other parents that a high percentage of the children at said schools do not speak English, so rather than teaching maths, the teachers spend more time just trying to teach English to non English speakers.

I live in an average area, I've been told be friends in other areas that it's the same there. There's not enough housing, schools and NHS resources to cope with the levels of immigration. So which stupid power hungry politicians decided it was a good idea to allow all this immigration when there wasn't the infrastructure to cope with it or the funds to pay for more schools etc?

I'm not from a 'British' family myself and have plenty of non British friends, it's not about racism, it's common sense, you can't have an uncontrolled surge in population and expect public services to cope unless you're happy to pay for it. Though I'm sure the govt arehappy that this has caused wages to be driven down...

Aibu?

I'm not sure what you want to be told really.

Of course YANBU in that we live in a democracy and you can vote for who you want

I think YABU in your reasoning though

mrsjay · 03/04/2014 09:05

YABU and its a shame this party is getting onto peoples radar in the first place I guess it is because the condems and labour are just as bad, do you think UKIP will really solve the non English speaking problem ,

Fecklessdizzy · 03/04/2014 09:07

If the pensioner's wing of the BNP floats your boat go for it ...

Personally any crew that thinks gay marriage causes global warning will have do do without me.

Dawndonnaagain · 03/04/2014 09:08

Yeah, you vote for people who want to lock my kids up. Hmm

FreudiansSlipper · 03/04/2014 09:11

of course you are not being unreasonable if you want to live in a society will treat so many as second class citizens

but if you want to live in a society that aims to treat people equally I would suggest you do not vote ukip

softlysoftly · 03/04/2014 09:13

If you think every policy in Britain can be fixed by a party who's only remit is blaming immigration and the gays then go for it.

Only there's a bit more to running the country than that.

mrsjay · 03/04/2014 09:14

oh and they dont like the gays either cos they might want to get married in church Shock

Ubik1 · 03/04/2014 09:17

Not unreasonable to vote for them... if you are a complete cement head

That lot couldn't organise a piss up etc etc

Can you imagine... "Barack Obama...meet...er....Nigel Farage"

Shock Grin

If you want a tin pot 'little England' then voting for UKIP is the right way to go

Ubik1 · 03/04/2014 09:19

This is what pisses me off about the media - they seem to bigging-up UKIP, they are never off the television, their exposure far far outweighs their support.

And Nick Clegg - if you are going to have a debate with Farage COULD YOU AT LEAST FUCKING WIN?

I think I hate Clegg more than Farage

Amrapaali · 03/04/2014 09:22

"...migrants in the UK pay more in tax than they consume in public services .....Without them, we would have to make further cuts to public services or pay higher taxes or both."

This from the Torygraph, no less!! Shock!

But you go on OP and vote for UKIP. Don't let facts stand in your way.

If public services are affected, we should be making sure our Government addresses spending in those areas. Becoming xenophobic is not the answer.

mrsjay · 03/04/2014 09:22

Ukip is in scotland too only one elected member though so it is not all little england it is quite scary

I hate Nick clegg I really do hate him , he is a siveling aggressive coward i hate him

PetiteRaleuse · 03/04/2014 09:23

"Self-serving bullshitters" describe Farage and his party members perfectly. UKIP are full of crap and bigoted to boot. The few policies they have are flawed at best, and downright wrong at worst.

thebody · 03/04/2014 09:24

totally agree ^^ especially about Clegg being a total twat.

how on earth Can a dick head like Farrage come off better than anyone else. only Cleggy.

op think your post is goady really don't you?

runnerBeanee · 03/04/2014 09:25

So Labour and Con dems got this country into this mess and you think I should still vote for them? I do agree with gay marriage but it's not as important to me as my childrens education, which will be great when half the class (at least) speak no/little English and they get sent to a school miles away because all the local ones are full. Who considered the poor teachers in this? It's hard enough to teach a class of thirty without having to factor in multiple languages Hmm where's the extra funding to support all this?

Clearly I don't want to live in a 'little England' as I already said I'm not from a 'British' family. Seems govt are happy to reap rewards of immigration (lower wages, skilled employees) but haven't invested in infrastructure to pay for it.

thebody the OP is not going to come back. You know that, don't you?Grin

Amrapaali · 03/04/2014 09:26

Ooops sorry OP. My mistake....

GossamerHailfilter · 03/04/2014 09:27

YANBU if you want all 'forin' people gone, all disabled people shoved away in some God forsaken hole so that 'normal britons' don't have to suffer them and you want Britain to become an isolated country all by herself then by all means, vote away.

GossamerHailfilter · 03/04/2014 09:29

Well if thats your attitude then there is no point in debating.

You have made up your mind, now off you pop and read the Daily Mail.

juliacharles2013 · 03/04/2014 09:29

If you wish to live in a country run by Daily Fail reading bigots & homophobes, not to mention the racist bullshit they spew be my guest, in fact the only reason I'd still vote labour or Tory is to keep those fuckwits from UKIP out, which is really saying something as I hate the Tories & what they've made this country's education system into but I'd still rather have Osborne, Gove & co for another 5 years than that utter moron Nigel Farage

runnerBeanee · 03/04/2014 09:30

Ok for the critics, what do you suggest I do about my dc education when the local schools are full, due to a surge in immigration and whatever school they're allocated probably miles away has mainly non English speakers? So the poor teacher has to spend his/her time teaching English whilst my dc twiddle their thumbs? Great education, thanks Labour and Con dems....

OP posts:
ballinacup · 03/04/2014 09:31

Labour got us into what mess? A global economic crisis that started on Wall Street?

Fleta · 03/04/2014 09:32

I do agree with gay marriage but it's not as important to me as my childrens education, which will be great when half the class (at least) speak no/little English and they get sent to a school miles away because all the local ones are full. Who considered the poor teachers in this

Tell me just how UKIP are going to solve this for your children.

I live in an area with a heavy, heavy Pakistani population. Many, many children enter school not speaking English - they are third and fourth generation who have been born in England. Are English. How does the UKIP "immigration" policy deal with that?

exexpat · 03/04/2014 09:33

Nigel Farage can't even keep his own party in line or write a coherent manifesto. How on earth do you think he could run the country? He might just about manage to run a golf club, but he'd probably spend too much time in the bar and not notice the bookkeeper fiddling the accounts.

Fecklessdizzy · 03/04/2014 09:34

What happens if one of your kids turns out to be gay, OP?

We live in a pretty mixed area and I don't recognise your description of schools at all. Hmm

mrsjay · 03/04/2014 09:34

OP there has always been migrants to the UK generations of families with lots of Z and Ws in their surname around here their grandparents at some point must have had to learn English and usually that would be at school,
