I am still trying to pick my jaw off the floor...

Who the fuck does this?

Why would you do this without consulting your wife?

What the fuck do I do?

He's home in 20 minutes.

:-O!!

Here's to hoping there's a punchline.

Gumby · 27/01/2012 20:08

Is it on credit? Do you have savings?

RoughShooting · 27/01/2012 20:08

Wow...I'd be angry.

catinboots · 27/01/2012 20:08

Leave the bastard Grin

But keep the motor Wink

ThePsychicSatsuma · 27/01/2012 20:09

what kind of car? colour?

joanofarchitrave · 27/01/2012 20:09

Is that you Sam? Is it a German car?

Openmouthedshock · 27/01/2012 20:09

There's no punchline I'm afraid.

Not on credit, but we've just moved and our house needs gutting, literally top to bottom.

I might actually give him an upperhook!

He's having a late mid-life crisis I think.

Oh my god!

Did he need a car? Confused

ThePathanKhansWitch · 27/01/2012 20:10

Are you married to Mr Hester from RBS?Grin

ChickensGoMeh · 27/01/2012 20:10

I. Would. Freak. Out.

funnypeculiar · 27/01/2012 20:11

Blimey. Had he discussed it with you at all? I can't begin to imagine the amount of shit dh would be in if he did something like that....

ThePsychicSatsuma · 27/01/2012 20:11

pathankans 3ok is chump change to him

jelliebelly · 27/01/2012 20:11

Actually spent £30k or bought a car on finance worth £30k? Either way he should have discussed it with you.

seb1 · 27/01/2012 20:11

Is it a nice car Hmm, will he be comfy sleeping in it Grin

Magneto · 27/01/2012 20:12

What type of car is it? (this is apparently a very important point according to dh) Grin

Openmouthedshock · 27/01/2012 20:12

It's a BMW!

Used, that's his justification of course.

Would have been 60K brand new.

Have just seen the actual model, he told me the name of the dealer.

Must admit it's quite nice... BUT... I have THREE very young children and really dont' see how a convertible is useful to us as a family.

I could actually weep. I'm not joking! We bought a 70's museum of a house and bar credit to decorate it, it will be that way for a lot longer.

It's not on

What should I say?

I would like to squish his nuts but clearly that's not on.

jelliebelly · 27/01/2012 20:12

You mean he spent £30k earmarked for doing up the house on a car?!?!

Openmouthedshock · 27/01/2012 20:13

BMW 635D, convertible so I'm told

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 27/01/2012 20:13

A convertible. Mmmm. Mid life crisis alert?

ThePsychicSatsuma · 27/01/2012 20:13

is it an m3? colour?? (nice)

Quattrocento · 27/01/2012 20:14

It depends upon the nature of your finances and how independent you are wrt to cars.

Me personally, I buy my own cars. I don't consult DH about the make, model or colour, or when I choose to buy one or how much I spend on one. That's just us though, and I'm guessing that you don't have that degree of autonomy.

CinnabarRed · 27/01/2012 20:14

Can he even get out of the purchase if you talk sense into him?

ThePsychicSatsuma · 27/01/2012 20:14

you have 3 kids.....duh he needs a slap.
what do you drive? enough room for 3 kids hopefully,

Openmouthedshock · 27/01/2012 20:14

Yes, he did need a car.

I needed a car... I got a fucking MPV with about as much get up and go as a drunk snail.
