I am still trying to pick my jaw off the floor...

Who the fuck does this?

Why would you do this without consulting your wife?

What the fuck do I do?

He's home in 20 minutes.

I've namchanged!

Fucking bastard...

Fiendishlie · 27/01/2012 20:14

I'd make him return it. Seriously. Me or the car (and if he chose the car at least I'd know where I stand)

ThePsychicSatsuma · 27/01/2012 20:15

can you actually get a refund on a car if you just change your mind?

Openmouthedshock · 27/01/2012 20:16

We have autonomy and we had discussed him buying a nice used car but regardless, we kind of share money. He has his, I have mine, but I thought that neither of us would spend that much without at least mentioning it in advance!

I have a Citroen Picasso

Need more details - what is it?!?

If it's brand new out a show room then he really is an idiot.

Has he got ishoos?!

LoveHandles88 · 27/01/2012 20:17

Grin @ seb1
I would definitely throw him a duvet and pillow!

redrubyshoes · 27/01/2012 20:17

Feed the DCs copius amounts of ice cream, burgers, blackcurrent jelly and Fruit Shoots and the take them all for a spin on winding and bumpy roads.......
..............for hours with the windows up and the heater on whilst they are trying to read a very, very small print book.

Openmouthedshock · 27/01/2012 20:19

Who fucking knows what's he's done.

Could have just paid a deposit, could have bought the whole thing... I dont' know.

Our joint is showing no different.

I realise this is not a "I can't buy bread 'cos of no money thread" and I'm certainly not bragging by stealth. My 6 year old keeps saying 'mummy are you ok' 'why are you typing so fast on the computer'

OP posts:
redrubyshoes · 27/01/2012 20:19

Blackcurrant - sorry Blush

Also borrow a puppy for the trip.

Openmouthedshock · 27/01/2012 20:21

No, he'd never buy a new one, he's not that much of an idiot.

But he is still an idiot to have done this.

Affordabilty or not, why would he not tell me?

I've got 5 minutes 'til he's in.

Please fill my head with reasoanble questions, I want to rip off his head and piss down his tubes

Of course you wouldn't be stealth boasting Hmm, why would we think that?

naturalbaby · 27/01/2012 20:21

oh I can sympathise so much with you, Dh is finding it v.v.v.hard coping without his beloved BMW. Start writing a list of favours he will pay you back with.

So is he going to be up all night every night doing up the house himself, to keep costs down??

ILoveSanta · 27/01/2012 20:22

Maybe he's joking.......

If not, he's sleeping in the fucking car tonight I imagine. Tough shit if he hasn't collected it yet!

Fucking hell, does he have a death wish?!

ProfessorFiggyMoriarty · 27/01/2012 20:22

DH just said,

"pillock, why spend that much on a BMW, there are better cars for that amount!"

Refrain from sex for at least 3 months, then take that car out on your own and pose. (miss my convertible..........Sad)

BleatingRose · 27/01/2012 20:23

How on earth did he think you could afford it with the house renovations?

I have no idea what I would say in this situation tbh. I cannot imagine it ever occurring. Good luck.

JoyceDivision · 27/01/2012 20:24
Shock

Dh daren't break it to me that he's spent £30!

I'd buy a patio to bury him under if he spent £30K!! Grin

Openmouthedshock · 27/01/2012 20:25

snow whenver anybody has a shock that's not so cheap, the abuse comes from somewhere. I was just pre-empting it...

We can't afford it with house renovations.

OP posts:
naturalbaby · 27/01/2012 20:25

O.k, take a deep breath. You will be cool, calm and collected. You will be aloof and slightly sarcastic.

You will be a named driver won't you? You can fit 3 car seats in if you turn the airbag off and put one in the front. You look forward to doing the school run in it! Wink

Ouch, you knew he was looking to change his car, but to spend that amount of money without consulting or asking for an opinion at least, mine would be on the sofa tonight.

I think I would insist he cancel it, your house should be priority.

ThePathanKhansWitch · 27/01/2012 20:28

I reckon he's won a £100,000 on a scratch card today.

BleatingRose · 27/01/2012 20:28

Did he order a diamond-encrusted soda-stream with it?

ProfessorFiggyMoriarty · 27/01/2012 20:29

OP some people have a little more money than others, I couldn't spend £30K on something right now, but did have some money to spend on our house when we moved - because we knew we had to spend money on it! If dh had spent family house money on a car, I would have fucking killed him and no it wouldn't have occured to me that it was stealth boasting. The convertible side though now that is boasting Wink

ProfessorFiggyMoriarty · 27/01/2012 20:30

natasha yeah but I might want sex too Wink

BrandyAlexander · 27/01/2012 20:32

Dh would be in sooooo much trouble if he spent that kind of money without consulting me. Irrespective of who earned the money or which account its in, we view everything as joint.
