DP's friend's wife has just had a baby last Thursday. All fine and dandy, but she had a long birth (24 hours or so).

DP saw his mate yesterday, asked how the baby was etc, said 'yep she's fine and so is X (his wife), we had a good shag as well last night, so all back to normal'

DP thought 'wtf' and so did I.

Some people's idea of a shag is different! I know this because DH considers a blow-job to be sex....

If she was happy to play hunt the sauage then why does it worry you

I just thought it was odd as are you not supposed to wait for 6 weeks. Plus DP isn't really the type to talk about sex lives, why did his mate feel the need to share?

I couldn't have even contemplated it at that stage. I just didn't feel sexy. For AGES. If she (the mate's wife) felt up to it good for her, I suppose. I just couldn't imagine it. Personally.

Well it's against medical advice and I can't imagine it being all that comfortable whether she had a VB or a CS.
Actually I think the most likely explanation is that the bloke is fibbing.

It definitely makes me feel a bit ill...I wouldn't have thought it was a good idea yet as ins't there a risk of infection if the cervix hasn't completely closed again yet? Or maybe not - but I do think it is a bit yucky.

I can't imagine wanting to 5 days after a long labour.

I reckon they didn't and your DH's mate is trying to prove something. God knows what though. Maybe he's scared they'll never have sex again so he's trying to reassure himself by pretending they have. My sex drive returned quite soon after my first, but it was at 3 weeks - that's when I felt the bruising had gone down and the bleeding had stopped. Would be very surprised if someone felt up for it before 2 weeks tbh.

It's dangerous. Risk of air embolism. Women have died because of having sex too soon after childbirth.

Jus the mere thought of it is making me cross my legs and cringe!
