Women who smoke when pregnant are selfish, irresponsible fuckwits

MsKLo · 08/01/2011 00:13

...and so are parents who smoke around their babies/children. I see soooooo many parents pushing prams and smoking or driving and smoking with babies in their car seats etc.

And the number of times I have seen pregnant women having a fag...

Selfish, irresponsible fuckwits

And for the record, I am an ex smoker. I LOVED smoking but stopped before I starte trying for a baby as it was, and is not, fair to inflict my selfish habit on my babies.

What about my SIL who gave up smoking for her second baby - baby was stillborn so she started smoking again and was so stressed she couldn't give up when she got pregnant again?

Well done you for giving up but it's not so black at white in reality!

LovePinkBitsOfMyHorse · 08/01/2011 00:16

Really julybuttetfly? All the more reason for her not to inflict nasty cir chemicals on her unborn baby

There is NO excuse for smokin when pregnant

NONE

How can anyone justify it? I just don't get it!

stress hormones during pregnancy are pretty bad during pregnancy. Going cold turkey when pregnant can cause a lot of stress and thats seriously bad. It affects the baby, not just with things like weight at birth, but also things like cognitive abilities in later life, diabetes, blah blah blah.

I cant be bothered to list all the stuff properly right now, but there is enough literature out there. look at it before you make blanket judgements on people

Smokin ?

Can't be arsed to comment on this.

MsKLo · 08/01/2011 00:26

Whatever julybuttetfly
Whatever

Amazing that you think it is ok for her to have done this

A close friend of mine went though the same thing but never smoked

Vent all you want I won't bother replying to you again to you as your selfish reasoning stuns me

OP posts:
usualsuspect · 08/01/2011 00:26

< goes for a fag>

Maelstrom · 08/01/2011 00:26

I think people are inclined to defend smokers not because they condone smoking in pregnancy, but because your self righteous tone is sooooo annoying, it is almost a call to shut you up.

NotShortImFunSized · 08/01/2011 00:27

Whilst I agree with what you are trying to say and that I too didn't smoke whilst pregnant or bf'ing you can't just assume that it is that easy for everyone [hmm}

Like July said, it isn't like that for everyone Angry

You can't impose your belief on every pregnant woman just because it is your opinion.

julybutterfly · 08/01/2011 00:27

What's a load of shite?

SIL had a stillbirth whilst NOT smoking - what 'inflicted' that innocent foetus.

Thingumy · 08/01/2011 00:28

Enjoying your blue wkd there op?

MsKLo · 08/01/2011 00:29

Amazing how many selfish women have come on here to justify smoking when pregnant

If you want to smoke don't have babies and inflict your nasty SELFISH habit on your baby

Unbelievable how many selfish fuckwits there are out there! Those poor poor babies having selfish mother like that who put their need to smoke above their baby's health and think it is ok

Just amazing

I agree. Who died and made you God OP?

julybutterfly · 08/01/2011 00:30

I didn't say it was ok for her to do it. What I think is that it was ok for her to do what she felt necessary after what she went through.

Odds are you've never been through it so you have no idea!

I used to think abortion was vile until I HAD to go through it so maybe you should hold judgement and hope you never have to do something you so strongly oppose
