Happy to go first with Navy on a little boy. Not sure if they were going with the colour or a nautical theme but it kind of suits him actually. Also a little girl called Nala from the Lion King. My own legal name is a absolute clanger before anyone comes for me with the ‘sneery thread’ accusations 😂

I know a grown up Buster and a Jolene.

In the 80s I knew a whole family of boys named after planets, Mars, Mercury etc. there were about six of them.

I've known a fair few Merlins in my time too.

i congratulated a woman at college years ago when she brought in her baby - she’d called her Tiah Maria “like the drink but with a h at the end” 😳

Did she plan to call her future son Tioh Pepe? Let's hope Tiah Maria never moved to a Spanish speaking country.

I used to work with someone called Heavenly Blessing. And she really was - the name was perfect for her, she was so lovely. Her sister was Precious Gift. Their brother was called…. Brian. Grin

ETA in response to the post just above - they were from Nigeria. Apparently the dad was a huge fan of Queen so the son was named after Brian May.

(HB, if you happen to be on MN, hi!!! I still make the cake, and I think of you often!)

Edited

I got a work email from someone called Blessing once and I initially thought this is how someone religious signs their emails, like best wishes, blessing 😄 then I saw her email address and realised it's her name

Blessing is actually a beautiful name, I think. I wouldn't use it as it's not in my culture, but I think it's a lovely name to give your child.

I am in my sixties and have never met anyone with my name. Have lived in a few countries too.

Well...? The name is...?

I know someone (yes, of African origin) called Lovely.

One of my son's care workers is called Precious 🥰 and she is! She's from Nigeria
