Happy to go first with Navy on a little boy. Not sure if they were going with the colour or a nautical theme but it kind of suits him actually. Also a little girl called Nala from the Lion King. My own legal name is a absolute clanger before anyone comes for me with the ‘sneery thread’ accusations 😂

I know a Buster, I'm fairly sure it's his real name.

A couple of kids in the playground one day calling their sister to come get her share of the picnic. "Gizzy, Gizzy..." as in golf or give. Turned out to be Giselle!

Well, I suppose it's better than shortening it to 'Jizzy'!

Worst I ever came across was Jeepster.

I once taught a Diesel, but Jeepster beats that hands down!

SabrinaThwaite · 30/08/2026 21:01

There was a thread on here a while ago where someone was asking for a sibling name to go with Buster Boo and Dolly Dot.

I work with children. The most unusual GIVEN name (not a nickname!) I've had is 'Bubblegum'.

PurpleYarnivore · 30/08/2026 21:34

Zebedee ( he was usually referred to as Zeb)

MotherOfCatBoy · 30/08/2026 21:37

Once in a school met a boy called Archerbold. Probably an alternative spelling of Archibald but I loved it, thought it made it much more brave and Robin Hood sounding!

My paternal gran’s middle name was Isca.

localnotail · 30/08/2026 22:01

Justice Mellencamp is John Cougar's daughter 😂but I'm assuming that if you don't recognize the surname you don't know who he is either

No idea. Do I need to know who all these people are?

MrsAvocet · 30/08/2026 22:18

Not someone I actually met, but when researching my family history I came across an ancestor who had been named Armistice. (Yes, he was born in 1918!)

T-Rex fans, maybe? It has me instinctively singing the song!
