What the most unique baby name you ever heard/saw?

Happy to go first with Navy on a little boy. Not sure if they were going with the colour or a nautical theme but it kind of suits him actually. Also a little girl called Nala from the Lion King. My own legal name is a absolute clanger before anyone comes for me with the ‘sneery thread’ accusations 😂

Storm Huntley’s daughter is named Sloane.

Twins Chardonnay and Merlot, I must admit the other mums were pretty mean, this was 20 years ago - the girls mum said she chose them because they were sophisticated and she wanted them to be successful, now imagine the comments when she went out of earshot …. We moved shortly afterwards so no idea what became of them.

No idea who she is but I gather Sloane is an Irish name.

I can think of three truly unique names of people I know / have known but they would be instantly identifiable to anyone who knows them.

One of my mum's carers in her nursing home was called Happy. It suited her too.

I used to work with someone called Heavenly Blessing. And she really was - the name was perfect for her, she was so lovely. Her sister was Precious Gift. Their brother was called…. Brian.

ETA in response to the post just above - they were from Nigeria. Apparently the dad was a huge fan of Queen so the son was named after Brian May.

And then some names after objects, usually a double barrelled mix of Star, Miley, Pixie etc with interesting spellings

I've met 2 children, unrelated, that had triple barrelled first names! Something like John-James-Keith Smith.

Parents nicknames- Chavster and Jobbie. Their child is CJ. That is the child's only name (no middle name) CJ Smith.

I came across a little girl a few years ago whose name (I think) was actually ‘Unique’. They were of African heritage though I don’t know which country. Fabulous name!

Also met a Vigel. His brother’s name was Nigel.

I had a midwife called Patience and she was so kind and Patient, I do think names can predetermine character a bit.

I can't really understand why, when people choose job-names for kids, they are generally manual labour type jobs like Carter or Mason or at best Tailor. It's never Accountant or Engineer or Violinist.

Worst I ever came across was Jeepster.

I’m pretty sure those names come from surnames being made into fornames. Nobody has the surname accountant because it’s too modern a term, they have Clark/Clerk, nobody has Violinist (again too modern an instrument) they have Piper and Harper which all have been made into first names.
