What the most unique baby name you ever heard/saw?

Happy to go first with Navy on a little boy. Not sure if they were going with the colour or a nautical theme but it kind of suits him actually. Also a little girl called Nala from the Lion King. My own legal name is a absolute clanger before anyone comes for me with the ‘sneery thread’ accusations 😂

I have only met (and never even heard of another in real life) one of:

• Nerissa
• Tobyn
• Vashti

And I was in my 30s before I met someone with the same first name as me (I knew there were others out there though, just had never met one). Then in my 40s I finally met a couple of others.

Got to say I quite like Nerissa

The Times birth announcements had a girl named Sloane the other day.

A couple of kids in the playground one day calling their sister to come get her share of the picnic. "Gizzy, Gizzy..." as in golf or give. Turned out to be Giselle!

My great grandma was called Effiness and i've not heard it since. We called her nanny effi- she hated her name.

Walking down the road behind a family with 2 young kids, one dicking around
"Po, stop"
"Po, come back now please" etc etc
Followed with
"POGO JAMES, I HAVE TOLD YOU TO STOP"

So despite working in childcare for 20y and seeing some doozies, Pogo is quite high up for mw

There’s a little boy in my area called Lucifer.

I know this because I heard a woman shouting ‘LUCIFER, get out of that garden NOW!’ & expected a dog to come running up, but he came instead.

Surely you can have a list of unusual names but one jumps out as ‘whoah I’d never have thought that could exist?’

Sativa and her younger sister Indica. Lovely little girls, but as much as I love unusual names, theirs are too far for even me!

DS had a girl in his class named Chisel. He thought it was weird to name a child after a tool. Giselle. Her name was Giselle.

I worked with a Sloane. Lovely young woman.

My daughters. She’s the only one with it, I’ve googled and never seen anyone officially called it. Some people use it as a gamer tag but that’s all.
