Cleaning the oven.
Cleaning the car.

I get professional cleaners to do these for me because just no....life is too short.

Pay someone else to do things I can do better myself, like cleaning the oven or the car.

😜

Lol
it doesn’t take long to clean an oven if you wipe it down after every use and then do a proper clean on it once a week!

youalright · 25/07/2026 19:58

Clean the windows im rubbish at it, i don't want to do it. Its money we'll spent in my opinion

Lol. Like anyone would willingly do all thst when they can pay someone or get pyrolitic ovens that vaporise grease.

ThirdStorm · 25/07/2026 20:07

I like cleaning my car but I wish I could outsource vacuuming!

HeddaGarbled · 25/07/2026 20:08

Once a week!? I pyro my oven about once every six months and never ever wipe it.

IdenticalHandTwin · 25/07/2026 20:08

I pay €12 for a car wash, inside and out. It comes out gleaming and smells amazing inside like cherries

And I get a free coffee while I wait.

Once a week? You have time to waste!

What madness is this. An in and out clean where we live in the south west is at least £40!

Time and money are relative concepts. If you are time poor but cash rich, then it makes sense to pay to have your oven cleaned.

TheChosenTwo · 25/07/2026 20:12

We pay to outsource as much as possible. Not even massively time poor, just enjoy freeing up our free time to do things we want rather than boring necessary jobs.
we pay to get our oven properly cleaned twice a year, it’s like new when they’ve gone. Some of the best money we spend on regular house maintenance.

OwlCalledSage · 25/07/2026 20:15

We outsource as much as possible. Gardener, cleaner, window cleaner, oven cleaner, car valeter. We used to have an ironing woman but we don’t have any need for ironing these days.

MakeMineAMilkyTea · 25/07/2026 20:15

Clean the oven! I’m with you on that and pay for a professional oven clean once a year or so. The other thing I won’t do is cut the grass. It’s not worth the temper tantrum from me over doing it. I despise it with a passion! Give me a bathroom with a drain of black mould to clean instead and I’d rather do that for an hour instead of cutting the grass.

i also don’t decorate, I loose the will to live and I hate it so it’s easier all round for professionals to do it.

Nofeckingway · 25/07/2026 20:17

I would love to have the money to delegate most household tasks . I am so bored with it and it's never ending . I can't think of one task that I would rather do myself . So really need a household manager to do food shopping , cooking , laundry , ironing , hoovering , mopping, bed changing, etc. etc...
This would free me up to do absolutely bugger all if I wanted to .

palorina · 25/07/2026 20:17

I have my grass cut regularly March to October. I pay to have my drive and back patio powerwashed. No, I am not doing either of those jobs. I don't use the oven much so that's not an issue with me.

ThirdStorm · 25/07/2026 20:07

I’ve outsourced vacuuming! We have a little robot that gets up before we wake and trundles round downstairs, mopping and hoovering. Then I bring it upstairs and it does the same. Trundles back to its station and cleans itself. Best money we ever spent.

😱 That's steep! I'm not in the UK and cars get very dusty here 😷 My local car wash up until a few years ago used to offer a free wash on your birthday, you just turned up with your ID 😂

Plumb in a new central heating system.

Exactly. Like most people have the time or the inclination to clean the oven every sodding week!

letshavetea · 25/07/2026 20:30

I have a window cleaner and a gardener. I also pay to have the car valeted.
£40 - £50 her in Sussex I don’t currently have a cleaner - but I’d like to have one again if I find someone suitable. I pay to have the oven cleaned yearly. I always pay for a decorator. Even with the help I have I seem to always be doing loads. I might ask the window cleaner to clean the inside windows.

ofcolitas · 25/07/2026 20:39

window cleaner every 6 weeks
oven cleaner every 6 months
car valeted when necessary
cleaner every week
gardener every month
decorator to do one room every year

also have robot hoover and robot lawn mower.

My best investment is the gardener. I want to sit in my garden and enjoy it. not work in it. I work keeping the house, holding down a job and being a wife and mother - i'm bloody well sitting in a nice garden.

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 25/07/2026 20:41

I dont clean the outside of my car and nor do I pay anyone. It never ever crosses my mind.

I get a strange inner calm by cleaning the car. Less so the oven in fairness.
