Sympathy from me. Ive had an awful stomach today and terrible anxiety this week. I think its the inescapable heat.

It's... it's... raining!! I mean actual real rain! I thought I was still asleep and dreaming at first. I ran outside in my nighty like a mad old woman! And last night I spent ages watering the garden going around everywhere with a can. Typical!

So unbelievably stupid and short-sighted of them. I’ve emailed my council to ask if we can get more trees planted on our road. Will see what they say.

It’s fresher outside but it’s going to take a while for the house to cool down unfortunately

We have been talking about the weather at work today so I checked the forecast. My app says it’s not going to get below 30 degrees all of next week 😩😭.

I think I might just cry.

Same with this shithole. All i did was move around putting some dry washing away and i started sweating

House is even dusty now from windows open. Everything outside looks a tinderbox. Its gross

But yeah, it's literally hot wind.

It's all just grim. How can summer feel longer than winter? I don't get it. But here we are.

I closed the windows because there's no point letting hot wind in!

our local forecast has changed from rain and lower temperatures predicated for the next couple of days to maybe some rain on Sunday which I will bet won't happen and temperatures climbing again to reach 30 degrees again by Monday. I wanted to weep when I saw it. I feel worried about what is happening to the planet, I've been out as I had to get stuff done and it is quiet considering the schools are off, the local park which had some lovely new plantings looks like a burnt out wasteland. It is a crisis

It feels dystopian. Which I know sounds a bit like hyperbole, but that’s how I feel.

i will have to take the security risk and leave my door open when my capped gas safety check is due as the temps this shithole gets up to exacerbates my IBS if i am on the loo. Like i was several times the Monday just gone So my choice is
a. leave my front door/fire door wide open if i need the loo
or
b. miss the safety check if i need yet another shit and get a threatening letter despite the fact the problem is made worse by their shithole.

c. hopefully they will be lucky and i wont need the loo at all.

I watched The End We Start From the other night, which is about large parts of the UK flooding. One of the characters at the start says "we had three months of drought, now this"...

I have felt uncomfortable today, I think it’s the humidity more than the heat

It does feel biblical doesn’t it. The floods may well happen, maybe that’s why the government don’t seem that worried ? Although that’s only my opinion.

I am finding it so humiliating to be a post menopause woman in this weather.
Went to Hatchards in Piccadilly yesterday- obviously no aircon- and found myself just pouring with sweat. No one else seemed to be. Had to dash out and escape to St James Park to cool down.
On the Tube I have to use a handheld fan to be decent.
DH doesn't appear to suffer as much.

Sympathies to all those with IBS too.

My cat is suffering so much today. I have allowed him to go into my cupboard and make a tunnel of my clothes!

It’s only supposed to be 21° here today but it feels much hotter than that.
Just looked at next week and a couple of days of 30°/31° have appeared.

It is hotter today. I am slowly getting a bit used to it , but would rather it was colder and rainy.
No rain forecast at all for days on end , it’s like Groundhog Day.

I’m so fed up with the Met weather giving forecasts of rain and lower temperatures “except for the far south which will become warmer”

Even the ‘cool downs’ are a day of slightly lower temps and no rain until it ramps back up again!

I'm finding you always have to add a few degrees to whatever the hottest forecast is.

I don't feel well either today and I agree it's the humidity @JewelleryCat and it was supposed to feel fresher.
