I have everything crossed for a change. I feel as though I'm covered in treacle, I struggle with the stickiness.

We go away in a couple of weeks (a staycation) and I’ve just checked the weather - it says it’s going to be 22/23 degrees!! OMG I’m really keeping my fingers crossed. The heat yesterday had me considering how to take the air con with me as it’s supposed to be “portable”.

Never did I think I’d be so excited about it being ‘only’ 22/23 degrees! Usually I’d be “ugh that’s a bit warm for me really”.

@the80sweregreat not sure where you are, but it started late May for us in Essex. Starting off at 35° was never a good sign!

Yes, Essex too. We had a hot may ( sweltering ) and a rainy day mid June and then just heat !! I hate it

I think the heatwaves have addled my brain ! Lol

no idea what to do with myself this evening

I feel exhausted, restless, antsy - also desperate to get out of here but I don’t want to go to the pub and it’s going to be too hot to go for a walk until 8, I reckon and it will probably still be too hot then.

And I don’t really want to go for a walk to be honest - I just want to sit in my own home during normal things without being boiled. Normally I walk every single day of my life - I don’t even want to do that now.

does anyone else start cleaning as soon as there’s a puff of air in the flat?!

someone I know through work who was loving it - he told me today that he’s absolutely sick of it. He’s a runner and he said that he’s so tired he’s had to stop running - and he runs every day.

It's the tiredness and feeling mentally fuzzy that is really affecting me, almost as if i am coming down with an illness or just getting over one, that feeling of not being quite myself. I have noticed that even the local kids are not racketing around for really long periods of time, I think the heat has even got the better of them. In fact my whole street is now usually silent from about 8pm, it is as if everyone has had enough and wants it to rain and cool down.

Yeah and my fucking housing association felled one

I've been trying to remember the last proper rain we had and it was probably the same time tbh. We're in the midlands. We got excited when it started spitting today but it came to nothing. Thursday is saying only 20 degrees. We'll all be freezing after what we've endured!

Bastards.

A couple of days of respite after another warm night, then back up to 30 by next weds! And I bet that will change to mid 30s over the next few days. Sigh.

I’m so sick of putting off my life because of the weather! Every summer it happens, but this year the wasted days are outrageously bad.

Tonight I've been having a really random and out of the blue panic attack (not had one in quite a while)....no immediately obviously cause but my flat is very hot (about 27c) at the moment and despite there being a fairly strong breeze outside, it feels like there is no air and like I can't breathe...also TMI but my IBS has been flaring up pretty badly all day and I find it strange that both are flaring up suddenly like this....it's a horrible feeling and nothing seems to be helping it.

The heat doesn’t help health conditions at all

It's forecast to be 19 degrees on Thursday where I live! Thats 11 degrees less than we have had today. Very much looking forward to it and then we apparently have rain on Friday and Saturday but I will believe that when i see it. Now shall I just relax on Thursday and read my book or run round catching up with everything? Think the book might win🤔

@MoonlightMemories hope you feel better now. This heat is playing havoc with lots of us.
i went to a festival and thought i was going to have a panic attack but my husband noticed and moved out the crowd, no shade but he put my brolly up over me which helped that day.

been for a walk it’s breezy now so I’m hopeful London will be cooler tmrw

@MoonlightMemories your brain and your gut are inextricably linked, that's why it happens. I get stomach issues with anxiety as well. Do you have a strategy to deal with it?

I have rain! Not sure how long it’ll last though but there is rain. It’s lovely to hear it

I'm sitting out in the garden and I would say this is the first vaguely normal summer evening we've had, at 9:30pm in August. Ridiculous.

I posted something on social media about it and lots of people have reposted it -glad I'm not the only one feeling the loss of summer. Or sprummer!

Never thought I’d say this but there is a really nice cooler breeze coming through the window at the moment. Earlier this evening (before the sun set) it was flipping unbelievably hot and the humidity was through the roof!
