Shaving my legs (!), meeting a friend and going to outdoor theatre (plus sitting in garden with a good book!) - and wearing summer clothes at last.

sunnydisaster · 20/05/2026 06:38

And prob sleeping badly as house is like an oven!

StarCourt · 20/05/2026 06:40

My weather forecast says 25 degrees from Friday peaking at 30 next Wednesday then going down to 28 until Saturday. I hate the heat and hate working in it. DD hates it more than me as she cannot temperature regulate.

My flat/maisonette with east and west facing windows gets hotter than the sun in summer with anything over 25 degrees resulting in 30 degree plus temp indoors until the sun goes down.

So I shall mostly be weeping.

Me too 😭

WingBingo · 20/05/2026 06:44

Booked a holiday to Turkey for some sun and a much needed break.

think the weather may be better here

DreadedInn · 20/05/2026 06:45

Finally turning my heating off, off.

Tiddlywinks63 · 20/05/2026 06:55

Not a lot. I don’t like the heat, it makes me feel ill.
i will enjoy sitting in the shade, reading my books or doing embroidery, the dogs will bake in the sun then flop out on the cool kitchen tiles.
Plenty of salads and cold drinks.

Larsaleaping · 20/05/2026 07:00

It's going to be 32 degrees here in the south, which is definitely a heatwave for May. I'm not looking forward to it.

Idstillratherbepaddleboarding · 20/05/2026 07:02

We have a busy weekend but it’s only forecast to be 18-20 degrees. The only day where it’s going to be close to being hot is Wednesday and of course, I’ll be stuck in the office all day 😭.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/05/2026 07:06

Can’t wait

mini blondes and I have planned our Saturday

bikini book bed (sun lounger) bubbles (spa)

Sunday repeat with family

frozendaisy · 20/05/2026 07:18

I have dumbly offered to do a BBQ for the teens and their mates what was I thinking!

frozendaisy · 20/05/2026 07:19

Might get the oil paints out and paint in the garden one day

the80sweregreat · 20/05/2026 07:25

Sitting indoors waiting for it to get colder again. Can’t bear hot weather

RampantIvy · 20/05/2026 07:35

Max of 24 degrees forecast for here. I need to paint some railings so this will be ideal weather.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 20/05/2026 07:40

Can guarantee my neighbour will be burning shite on his fire so all the chimney smoke and stench will make it impossible to have my washing out, windows open or be out in the garden in general.

I’ll unfortunately be working on the warmest days and DH is helping a family member move house around his shifts, but he has bank holiday Monday off work which is very rare so we’re off on a day trip with the kids.

Pendapala · 20/05/2026 07:53

Chelsea Flower Show tomorrow. Then up to Norfolk for a long weekend of sailing, beaches, family bbqs, pub lunches and long walks.

Can’t wait to get my summer dresses and shorts on and to shake off the last of the SAD.

Beer3000 · 20/05/2026 08:59

Max of 21 here, by Wednesday it is back at 17 and raining. I might take off my fleece and forego the electric blanket.

MrsAvocet · 20/05/2026 09:38

Well we have a possibility of breaking the 20c barrier, in which case I may take my jumper off.

GingerLeopard · 20/05/2026 09:41

The kids have an inset day on Friday, so I'm going to pack the car up and take them to the seaside - a treat for us as we're in the midlands!

ccccccccc · 20/05/2026 09:49

I'm not good in heat but we bought two good portable air-conditioners over the past few years.
Like others I'm also in the process of losing weight and hope that this will help me this summer. But 25 degrees is perfectly manageable, why are people so excited about this imagined "heatwave"?
May spend more time in the local gym as it is air-conditioned too.

Greenwitchart · 20/05/2026 09:58

Heatwave?

25 or 27 degrees is hardly a heatwave...

Dontcallmescarface · 20/05/2026 10:16

Working.

DoYouLikeYourNaneFred · 20/05/2026 11:49

AmericaIsSoBloodyGreat · 20/05/2026 06:03

Same!

Oh no, I LOVE the long days! I've resisted looking at when they start getting shorter again 🥲

DancingLions · 20/05/2026 12:47

It's apparently going to hit 30 here for a few days so I'll be sitting in the living room enjoying the upgraded air con I got last year!

I'm not meant to be out in the sun much due to a skin condition I have. On top of that I always get a heat rash if I do venture out. So quite happy to hunker down indoors and wait for it to pass.

I'm happy for DD though, she loves the sun (she's an adult so I don't need to take her out!).

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/05/2026 12:50

24/28 for a week and then 20. Heatwave for sure in May to June
