Thanks @SpiritOfEdna ! I had fallen off the old one, but new year new thread new motivation.

Couple of projects completed chez Carton around the holidays - clearing out the junk drawer of screws, batteries, take away menus etc (much better than it was before), getting rid of the horrible old sofa which is being taken away tomorrow (may be sitting on camp chairs for a bit before we get a new one 😂), transferring DS from the cot bed to a proper single - all quite a lot of heavy lifting, literal and figurative!

Today's project might be to finally order the school photos from the end of last year and DD1's first secondary school pic 🤔

I've just wrote a whole reply and accidently deleted it 😡

Probably just as well cos I was moaning abit. Had a rubbish few days but feeling a bit more positive now was the jist of it.

Day off today so I think I'll treat myself to a walk and lunch out. Extra jobs to get done: move the loft pile to the loft so it can stop making me feel bad every time I look at it, order the bras I said I was going to order days ago and get round to setting up Vinted account. 2026 WILL be the year I become organised and live in a clutter free home!

We took the Christmas tree down yesterday too, and today did a lunch break blitz to the shops to get, among other things, an urgently needed swimsuit for D's swimming lessons. I think that's enough for today! (apart from doing laundry of my parents' bedding and towels, they have now flown home)

I've written on the old thread but also checking in here!
I'm going to attempt some cobweb removal this evening, pesky things are above the stairs so I need a very long duster.

I completely forgot yesterday that a late Christmas gift arrived, so I undercounted my Ins and I've added it today. I have stalled a little bit and have missed my net target of 40 items per week. It's frustrating and I probably won't have chance to do much tomorrow, but I'm not giving up!

@FoolShapeHeart getting a mattress wrapped and waterproofed sounds like quite a task! How did you do it? We need a new bed, although I am sure when we bought our current one, they took the old one away. No wrapping required. Our divan bed is ancient but the mattress is 'only' 13 years old.

Tasks today: photo album from photobox for my mother. Find the bottom of the clean laundry pile (ie put it all away) Pair socks. Order cat meds.

Must get going as the anti-inflammatories have kicked in.

Just awake with baby here. Sleep has been crap past few nights.

Lots to do underneath the tidy facade chez moi. It's constantly nagging at me. It's likely why I'm not sleeping.

Have folded and put away clean clothes and emptied the laundry basket to wash.
Mental note about some clothes of the dc's to donate.
Coffee is ready - decaf, as not quite ready for caffeine.

Baby joined me on couch about 15 minutes ago. Havoc just walked in. 😂

Hello all

First PT session of the year this morning. I’ll hurt tomorrow! Lovely to catch up with PT though.

Yesterday we de-Christmased the living room and part of kitchen, dining area and hallway. And I did lots of holiday washing.

Today we have just done the main Christmas tree. Well took the decorations off. It’s pouring rain here so DH not keen on traipsing in and out of garage to get bags for tree etc so it will stay up until tomorrow. A bit annoying as I was hoping to get it all done today.

I will bring boxes upstairs and continue putting away what I can. Also still doing laundry. And as I’m sneezing a lot I need to deep clean as I go I think. We have lots of dust. So vacuuming and damp dusting required.

Am inspired by the shitty jobs every day thread so am going to do a list and start my own shitty jobs. Which should keep me busy!

Peridot, that shitty jobs bit made me laugh. 😊

Kids' teeth now brushed; baby has had breakfast; Havoc is preoccupied with sorting books; and I've hung up laundry and re-attached a part to one of Havoc's toys. That last bit was in response to, Mummy, I can't put this back on. We need to buy a new one. 🙄

I might crawl back into bed. 🤔

Just got in from an earlier than usual school run today. It's already pitch dark, very very wet and windy out my way. I have a glass of prosecco and some ironing and am planning my attack on the DCs dinner that does not involve going out again. Possibly some creative combos today.

We’re having a party on Saturday and I need to brain dump ALL THE THINGS that need to be cleaned, decluttered, cooked in the next 40 hours. I’ll get on that after a bit of a lie down. My nervous system is a bit wacky right now so I’m going to take a breather, get up to start dinner then continue my brain dump.

Ouch @WinterFrogs. My back has thought that putting something in the sink was an extreme sport. At least you got into the attic! Hope you are feeling better.

Tree is down, decos put away and will drag it to cub shortly. ✅ Looking to purge some lights. Plugged in 4 other strands and all are good. Will have to open other box and test. 😵‍💫 Likely a job for next December...

I still haven't managed to get the bags up the loft yet. I derailed myself on Wednesday by going to the travel agents and booking myself a Caribbean cruise for the end of the year so I've been swooning over beautiful beaches etc ever since. The bags will go up today! And also Vinted...I can't seem to log in with my old details so I set up a new email address but they don't seem to like that either. Will mess about with that later. Technically these were both Wednesday jobs so todays actual job is to sort the pin number for access to the gym. It's been a terrible shame that I've not been able to go for the last few weeks (well months really 😱) I do need to get moving with that though as I know I'll feel much better for it.
Just one more day at work then it's my weekend off!
