Hmm, I have 2 theories:

1. She didn't think his mum fit in her shallow aesthetic, based on the photos I've seen of the guests and the do as a whole.
2. His mum doesn't necessarily approve of the partnership- looking at the timeline described in the article, from when they met to when they apparently got together, I wouldn't be surprised if his mum had sided more with the mother of his child.

Before anyone says, if you don't know who they are, read the article. Yes there are more important things to worry about in the world, I can think about more than one thing at a time.
This is purely my opinion, so hopefully I can't be sued.

The difference is, Myler’s new girlfriend has welcomed his family with open arms. Whereas Peaty’s has clearly not.

He doesn’t seem to like his parents, and prefers to keep them (at least) at arms length. Perhaps for very good reason. Why wouldn’t she follow his lead?

His ex seems to be a very graceful woman, I remember she put a tweet out after he'd been pipped to the gold medal by half a second or something congratulating him and saying how proud their son would be of him.

Also it's telling that Adams mum was looking after his child during the hen party (according to the paper) so his ex can't think she's that bad if she's happy to facilitate contact between them.

I am at a bit of a loss as to what Holly who appears to have much going for her, would see in Adam given the above, baggage & complications certainly not boding well either (?)

Her parents must surely be concerned. I would be!

All I can say is his family seemed to have truly supported him all his life when he was on Strictly. He, on the other hand, seemed rather up himself and now one of those people whose personality isn't improved by finding religion. I guess his parents were good enough to drive him to swimming lessons and babysit. Of course there may be more to it and the auntie playing out the drama via social media was a spectacularly bad idea. Banning the mother from the wedding and threatening to cut off access to her grandchildren just seems spiteful.

What does Holly Ramsay do for a living, my guess is nothing apart from trying to live off her foul mouth fathers name and posting pics of herself posing.

Never mind the bloody hen do, I can’t get over them telling the poor woman she couldn’t wear the dress she chose to the wedding. If that doesn’t show you the type of people they are I don’t know what will. My MIL could have turned up in a bloody bin bag for all I cared, I just wanted her there.

Presumably because she likes Victoria Beckham. The couple may have very good reasons for disliking his mother.

This. No matter how bad people are claiming Mrs Peaty to be and that her son must have totally justifiable reasons to go NC with her, Adam and Holly certainly aren't coming over as a pair of Snow White's either.

I wonder if they've sold the wedding pics to a magazine, and that's why the upset with the MILs dress.

I can only think that she bought something completely unsuitable in a pointed “pleading poverty” type of move which is why the couple then laid on the tickets and trip to Bath to shop for a new outfit which the family failed to attend, causing another drama. I think this mainly because of the comments in the press about some of the family being unable to attend the wedding due to cost. Plus how offensive could a mother of the bride outfit be otherwise? Sounds like this has been brewing for a while.

I would expect there will be pictures in Hello or Ok along with their side of the story. If it what Adam’s mum wore was that important, then he should have taken her out weeks ago to buy her a dress, He’s not short of a few pounds so should have treated her, not let her buy a dress then turn round and tell her it wasn’t good enough.

The whole thing sounds like a right shit show imo.

We do know that his mother has no problem following up his aunt’s post with passive aggressive memes on instagram, and that the family are happy to take their issues to the tabloids in order to shit on their relative’s wedding day. It also seems that there’s now police involvement because one person in his family has been sending violent threats to the couple.

Perhaps this is the ‘coming around’ for his mother.

I would imagine she's doing that because she's extremely hurt right now and maybe she'll regret it one day. I've certainly done things I'm not proud of when I've been hurt by someone I loved. I don't believe that anyone is shrouding themselves in glory right now but I do still find it interesting that APs ex is seemingly happy to have his family around their child.

Yes, running to the tabloids is bad but it's not as if the Ramseys run away from the press, is it? The bleedin' wedding's probably going to end up all over Hello!. The Ramseys may not be posting on social media but their PR people are already all over this.

Would it be so bad to let your mother-in-law wear a dress that didn't fit in with your colour scheme for the photo shoot? Also, I don't think it was a terrible crime for the mother-in-law to offer to make place settings. She probably just wanted to be included or to make a contribution, even if she couldn't afford to pay for such a celebrity wedding. It's just a culture clash between nouveau riche and poor. The last wedding I went to had food and decorations made by both sets of parents and was really beautifully done (and I say that as someone who hates bloody weddings). Wouldn't it have been better to have included his family at the expense of things looking so perfect?

All in all it sounds like Holly and Adam are putting more thought into the celebrity photos than into the future of the marriage.

I didn’t invite my MIL to my hen do. Should I have? It’s all a bit trashy and everyone seems to have had a massive overreaction. Also Tana Ramsay has always creeped me out and the daughter looks just like her. Stepford Wives vibe. (And I judge her for having a baby after all her children had grown up just because she couldn’t handle the fact that having adult children makes you feel old. Yup. I said it.)

His family sound l8ke a total nightmare. An aunt who airs private issues publically, a mother posting cryptic memes on SM, and two brothers who apparently have MH issues under ‘ADHD’ labels with suggestions that there might be a fraught relationship between them and Adam. And his aunt indicating that the Beckhams should comment as they know what it’s like to have drama in families - totally out of order. Not their circus, so why should they need to comment at all?
