Hmm, I have 2 theories:

1. She didn't think his mum fit in her shallow aesthetic, based on the photos I've seen of the guests and the do as a whole.
2. His mum doesn't necessarily approve of the partnership- looking at the timeline described in the article, from when they met to when they apparently got together, I wouldn't be surprised if his mum had sided more with the mother of his child.

Before anyone says, if you don't know who they are, read the article. Yes there are more important things to worry about in the world, I can think about more than one thing at a time.
This is purely my opinion, so hopefully I can't be sued.

To be fair to APs mum she hasn't kicked this off, it all seems to have come from her sister leaving that comment on Holly's IG. Whilst I understand her anger on her siblings behalf it probably wasn't a wise move.

I was a bit agog about Adam & Holly demanding his mum change her dress and him moaning that he couldn't get a refund on the train tickets after all trains were stopped during the Huntintdon attack. Now claiming that she'll never be allowed to see her grandchildren.

For someone who apparently prides himself on being a committed Christian he's certainly not coming over as such.

His mother didn’t publicly rebut her sister’s narrative, and instead decided to post passive aggressive memes on her own instagram. The sources in the article spinning the poor working class mother narrative (who her son owes all his success to, naturally) clearly come from their camp too.

Very toxic family. I would NOT be pleased with my sister if she posted something like this on my behalf. Smells like stirring.

Holly comes across like a shallow spoiled Madame who has never been told no.

Given the way Adam’s family have publicly embarrassed them, I bet his family are nightmares behind closed doors. They are clearly loose cannons, so it’s no wonder his mum wasn’t invited to the Hen. I don’t think his family are doing themselves any favours, they are just showing the world they are drama llamas who make everything about themselves.

Celebrities are not immune to the nightmare parents/in-laws!

Holly is as shallow as they come. Future MiL might have spoiled the photos. I think the drama’s only just beginning with these two.

I had to study the photo of Holly, Tana and Vicky Beckham to work out which was which. They're all bloody clones of one another.

It all seems potentially like a Brooklyn Beckham rehash. I wonder if Tanya and VB are discussing the situation.

To be fair on her hasn’t she had terrible MH problems, been in and out of the Priory etc. the Ramsays have always promoted and pushed their kids (much like brand Beckham) and it can’t have been easy growing up in that glare.
I agree that A’s sister kicking off in public is what’s done it. Really it’s up to a hen who she invites on her hen do. They should have kept schtum and handled it with grace and said it was up to Holly who she invited but they were looking forward to the wedding.
I agree Adam seems to have been sucked into the celeb culture a bit but they should have ridden it out instead of airing their grievances in public — it never ends well.

I think there is probably truths on both sides. His ex wasn't famous and he definitely gives vibes of looking down on and having outgrown his family. The fact his sister is the only person who is going to his wedding and that his family couldn't afford it says it all about his priorities

He treated his ex like absolute shit and no doubt it was his parents helping her while he was a mess.

Uninviting your mother to your wedding and stopping her seeing your kids is completely nuclear option for a relationship. If I was her I would keep the relationship with his ex and let him get on with it.

The dress re buying also is pretty obvious dig at his mother.

I’d imagine there’s a hell of a lot of more to this than meets the eye.

I didn’t have a hen do, I can’t think of anything worse, but I would never have told my MIL, or anyone for that matter, what she could and could not wear to my wedding. The fact that they did that speaks absolute volumes to me.

I hope AP’s Ex continues to allow the little boy to have a relationship with his paternal grandparents.

Oh I saw this on her Instagram at the weekend and was surprised it hadn't been picked up, guess it has now! The Aunt is batshit crazy. And the mum posting poor me meme's on her Instagram too! it's not normal to invite your future mil to your hen do, normally it's the brides friends. I can see why they don't want them at the wedding, you'd be on tenderhooks wandering if they would start trouble! Why they thought plastering their grievances all over Instagram was a good idea I'm not sure, would have been better dealt with privately!

The fact that it is his family that thought it was appropriate to make this public tells me everything I need to know about the type of people they are

It wasn't his sister, she was at the hen and will apparently be at the wedding. His auntie (his mum's sister) is the one who kicked off publicly.

I don’t know any of them personally (obviously) but his family sound v dramatic and hard work from the posts which would be a nightmare for her family who have a public image to maintain. I read earlier that the police are now involved due to one member of his family making threats of violence to both of the couple. It doesn’t say that it’s his brother but mention is made of them being trouble so who knows. All sounds very difficult. I would love to see the dress his mum originally chose, I wonder why it was vetoed. Worlds away from her own mother’s choice I expect.

I agree with you to an extent but I also think if I had to watch my sibling being treated like dirt by their son who is simultaneously projecting a wholesome family image over his public IG page I might snap too.

It wasn't her (the aunties) finest moment for sure but she's also human and flawed.

If this is true I would be questioning if I really wanted to marry into this shitshow.

I feel airing it online was misjudged but i can't help feeling sorry for his Mum. She is clearly very hurt. What a bit shame all round. And now it is all over the papers etc.

Yes the Ramsey's are very well off but Gordon knows better and came from a very tough childhood.
Some of the mil stories on here of endless years of abuse then they get invited to the wedding and ruin it.

I think it’s odd to invite your mil to your hen. Equally your future father in law but that was his choose. Was his own dad invited to his stag?

His mum liked a comment below one of her sad girl memes about how they’d get divorced soon anyway, then someone called her out on it so she removed the “like”. But still! That’s pretty mean and not likely to help build bridges. It’s just wild this is all being played out in public (from one side)

Think that speaks volumes. Even if you hate your child’s parents to publicly like a thing about them being divorced soon/in a year.

Adam treated his ex terribly, even before he was with Holly, which there is plenty of speculation they started seeing each other while he was still with the ex.
I wonder if all his swimming team mates will attend the wedding or it will be a swanky celeb do with all the Ramsays connections.
