Hmm, I have 2 theories:

  1. She didn't think his mum fit in her shallow aesthetic, based on the photos I've seen of the guests and the do as a whole.
  2. His mum doesn't necessarily approve of the partnership- looking at the timeline described in the article, from when they met to when they apparently got together, I wouldn't be surprised if his mum had sided more with the mother of his child.

Before anyone says, if you don't know who they are, read the article. Yes there are more important things to worry about in the world, I can think about more than one thing at a time.
This is purely my opinion, so hopefully I can't be sued.Wink

Holly Ramsay and Adam Peaty BAN his mother from their wedding

Holly Ramsay and fiancé Adam Peaty are caught in a bitter family feud after the Olympian banned his mother from their wedding following her snub at the bride's hen party.

I think the problem is- they need a good reason to ban his mum from the wedding.

Just because his aunt said something online isn't s good enough reason. The fact that she doesn't fit in and if he is embarrassed about his family. Again that isn't a good reason. Not being able to afford to go isn't a good enough reason for his mum not to go.

So reason such as death threats from his family etc are more likely to be seen as valid reasons by the general public.

Don't forget his side has expensive paid PR experts who are paid to try and deal with this kind of bad publicity.

Personally it sounds like he didn't want his brothers there and it all blew up.

This, 100 per cent. Remind me on the brother?…They are mentally ill?

They’ll be divorced within 2 years anyway.

What a nasty, mean spirited post.

BettysRoasties · 13/11/2025 10:38

So the family where moaning form the get go on the location. Did they expect he would have his wedding at the local registry office 🤣

The more his family post the more I can see why he wouldn’t want them there. Loose lips sink ships.

I will admit that I only read the headline, but apparently he had to be escorted off the plane after his stag do by armed guards for his safety due to his volatile family. Really?! Even the POTUS doesn't get that.

BettysRoasties · 13/11/2025 10:45

Also don’t know if I missed it. But all this why wasn’t mil invited wah wah wah.

Still not seen where was his dad during his stag.

If your own child doesn’t want you at their part of the party why on earth would the partner at theirs.

Like we need to know that aunty whoever is on universal credit so couldn’t afford to go.

One of the women certainly didn’t like getting called out for lack of decorum 🤣

SaratogaFilly · 13/11/2025 10:48

Both Gordon R & Adam’s dad are reported to have been at the stag do @BettysRoasties

Ah I had missed it then. Every article I’ve actually read hasn’t mentioned his dad being there.

Dad doesn’t seem to be mentioned much at all. In fact the ones I’ve read make it look like only mum not dad was uninvited.

Much like and I hate it. Only the women of the family are airing all this online.

GuyForksAndKnives · 13/11/2025 11:02

It's all a bloody mess but I think Tana, Victoria and the rest would have intimidated Caroline at the hen party and she'd have felt very uncomfortable.

OnlyOnAFriday · 13/11/2025 11:11

I read today that apparently the Ramseys think the Peaty family are "rough". Not sure I believe that but if it's true it's a bit laughable that GR would think anyone "rough".

He might have money but he's as rough as badger's arse. I thought he was quite proud of his roots, etc.

Yes, I read that and thought total bollocks. As if. Because how would anyone get plane side of an airport to carry out such a threat? There's some good PR briefing going on here.

Amabet · 13/11/2025 11:15

So the dad was invited to the stag and the sister to the hen. Sounds like these members of the family can be relied upon to have a good time and not make a scene, unlike the mum and brothers.

Good luck to the happy couple, I’m sure they’ll be happier going no contact with family members who go to the tabloids, say their wedding is too expensive to attend and make death threats…

Adam’s sister was there and seems to have had fun and fitted in.

I suspect it was felt that the mum would feel uncomfortable and would only be able to come with a lot of encouragement, paying for travel and new outfits and constant reassurance and looking after, and Holly couldn’t be bothered. Which is fair enough.

Yes, in one of his aunts long instagram comments she claimed they embarrassed Adam and I think something about addiction. I thought Adam was an alcoholic but I might be wrong. She also said Caroline supported all her kids even if Holly and Adam don’t like it, makes me think the brothers might be the ones accused of making threats.

SamVan · 13/11/2025 11:22

His family sounds awful tbh. It's not hard to see why he didn't want them there when they would publicly humiliate him like this. And all that whining about not being able to afford to attend the wedding - so are they supposed to have their wedding in the local pub? Anyway its never necessary (and actually rare) to stay in the hotel where the wedding is. They could drive down for the day or stay somewhere else cheaper.

Why not? Plenty of ‘celebrities’ get married at register offices, from Paul and Linda McCartney to David and Angie Bowie. Mick Jagger and Bianca married in a municipal town hall, and very glamorous it looked too, she in her iconic suit.

I don’t that’s much of an argument tbh.

Perhaps they’ve rightly decided to keep a distance between themselves and someone threatening to kill them, and the mother refuses to accept this ‘because family’.

That Adam Peaty’s father and sister appear to have no issue with the couple (or with attending events their wife/mother hasn’t been invited to/has been banned from) suggests that there’s quite a bit more to it then ‘Adam Peaty now thinks he’s better than his working class family’.

If I was ever daft enough to get married I'd dress like Bianca.

It gets worse. They’re back in the papers mouthing off again today. It’s like a pr car crash, I feel sorry for them all but at the same time can’t look away.

It's like a Mumsnet thread but with celebrities. Now we need to know if either party has parking issues with their neighbours.

Fair enough. Guess they just don’t make it into the papers. But I don’t imagine Many young celebs or even rich people tend to opt for the registry office.

In fact quite lucky it’s even in the U.K. considering lots of people in general even go aboard.

LlynTegid · 13/11/2025 13:23

Mum or future MIL are not two people I would ever consider being invited to a hen do, regardless of how pleasant or not they are.

Though maybe we should be more judgmental about the foul mouthed Rangers reject, not his daughter or future son-in-law.

sashagabadon · 13/11/2025 13:38

She should have just done 2 hens. A fun one with her friends and then one with mums, grandmas, aunts whatever

Totally agree with this. I remember when Adam was having big mental health problems a few years ago and was struggling massively - I think he did have alcohol problems too. He said in a few interviews that the Ramsay's, Gordon particularly, had helped him massively and had mentored and supported him back to competing again.

I just feel for Adam and Holly who just want a lovely wedding and to start their married life together. No one needs all this, it's so ugly and unnecessary. I don't think Adam has forgotten his roots or is embarrassed that his family are 'normal' he has often spoken of them and said how grateful he is to his parents for their sacrifices. But I think he will be very embarrassed at this big old drama stirred up by his Auntie and Mum for their woe is me social media posts. Meanwhile, the Ramsays' and Adam have maintained a dignified silence.

The press just need to leave them alone now and let this mess blow over so they can get on with their lives.

She reminds me ot The Other Mother.

xSideshowAuntSallyXx · 13/11/2025 14:28

I didnt invite my mother in law or my sisters in law to my hen do. I wanted my friends and family there. Not his and I didn't have a close relationship with his family.

To be fair my mum and sister didn't come.

Adam Peaty's aunt needs to watch what she's saying as she's making things worse. The fact his sister was there shows he's not ashamed of them. Vicky Beckham has known Holly for years, she's best friends with her mum of course she was going to be there along with Holly's own mother.

But Adam Peaty seems to be fair game for hate for daring to fall out of love with the mother of his child, who he and Holly seem to have a decent relationship with (it's the same with Bea and Eduordo, he gets hate but the child is happy and part of the royal family).

If I’ve seen correctly, Adam’s sister was wearing some sort of tiara at the hen, I think bridesmaids were wearing them. I might be wrong, but if so that hardly suggests he’s embarrassed of his family. Just the ones who are causing all the drama.
