Hmm, I have 2 theories:

  1. She didn't think his mum fit in her shallow aesthetic, based on the photos I've seen of the guests and the do as a whole.
  2. His mum doesn't necessarily approve of the partnership- looking at the timeline described in the article, from when they met to when they apparently got together, I wouldn't be surprised if his mum had sided more with the mother of his child.

Before anyone says, if you don't know who they are, read the article. Yes there are more important things to worry about in the world, I can think about more than one thing at a time.
This is purely my opinion, so hopefully I can't be sued.Wink

Holly Ramsay and Adam Peaty BAN his mother from their wedding

Holly Ramsay and fiancé Adam Peaty are caught in a bitter family feud after the Olympian banned his mother from their wedding following her snub at the bride's hen party.

Gordon Ramsey was from a working class background who is still, according to interviews exceptionally close to his Mother, therefore, I find it hard to believe it’s the Ramsey family thinking they are above the Peaty family.

His aunt commented that his mum supports all of her kids which Holly and Adam aren’t happy about. She said Caroline refuses to turn her back on Adam’s brothers, who struggle with mental health and he considers them an embarrassment. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re the family members accused of making threats. Adam does come across as forgetting his roots, since meeting Holly. His aunt is airing all their dirty laundry, I understand standing up for her sister but surely she’s making it all worse.

ForFunGoose · 11/11/2025 23:26

He must be so embarrassed, I know I would.

sothatsthat · 11/11/2025 23:36

Don't know who she is, don't care and I won't bother reading this obviously 😂

But I can figure it out from the comments and sum it up easily - Dear everyone, don't make a cunt of yourself and be demanding when it comes to your child's/relative's wedding, or anything wedding related, or you might well end up uninvited.

Sincerely, all normal people everywhere.

Only on mumsnet would you find posters falling over themselves to justify someone treating their MIL like shit! Yes it was very rude not to invite her to the Hen do and even worse to tell her she couldn’t wear the dress she had chosen ( not to mention extremely shallow). I would be absolutely disgusted if any of my dc treated their future MIL like that!

I see another unhinged day drinker has joined the thread (and nope, it's not me, before you attempt that oh so original quip )

We've found the mother in law😂😆😂

This post says exactly what type of bully person you are!

Jimpson · 12/11/2025 02:14

Adam sounds very controlling, telling his own mother what to wear? Unbelievably disrespectful and weird.

Pryceosh1987 · 12/11/2025 02:25

The hard thing about marriage is everyone must come together and be in unity, to make the marriage for both parties work.

DoctorMartin · 12/11/2025 05:27

I don’t think Adam did actually treat his ex badly. They met on Tinder and had a one night stand and she got pregnant, they were never an item before that. They both tried hard to make it work but realistically it was always unlikely. They seem to co-parent very amicably and he bought her a house in Wales near her parents, which must have been a wrench to see George moving several hours away.

Adam is a bit of a knob by all accounts but don’t think he did anything too bad to her.

Thebellistolling · 12/11/2025 05:57

I feel sorry for all of them, no doubt they're all holding some of the truth. I don't think social media is a good place to go with negative emotions about personal issues.

Edited for spelling.

Is the house purchase since they split?
When they were together he made it very clear when they used to do YouTube vlogs it was 'his house' and she was staying in it while he traveled away for weeks at a time swim training. He came across as a controlling pig back then. I remember Eiri did some pregnancy and postpartum style vlogs including one q and a about her recovery, saying Adam wanted dtd just a few weeks after their son was born as he was about to go away to training camp for a few weeks and she was in so much pain/discomfort.

That's awful. None of it should be online, it will always be there and it is impossible to ever completely leave it behind. Awful situation for everyone, although some are probably more responsible than others.

Lousy start to married life though.

WeCouldBeNiceToEachOther · 12/11/2025 06:27

I remember his (then) partner’s posts when he was on strictly. I’m sure he got engaged to her??? What a horrible little man

Someone in the family is sending threats of violence to the bride and groom so menacing that the police are involved. I think that might be a tad more pressing than frocks and a hen do.

FlyingUnicornWings · 12/11/2025 08:20

Netcurtainnelly · 11/11/2025 22:06

Have you read it properly everyone else was invited apart from her.
She invited that ghastly Victoria Beckham whose a friend of her dad's, over and above Adam's mother.

Would you like that.
Stupid show off nobody she is.
Peatys mums well rid.

I did! It’s up to Holly who she invites. She grew up very close to the Beckhams so Victoria is probably like an auntie to her. She has no obligation to invite her mother in law. And regardless, that doesn’t excuse the behaviour of the aunt running to the press and being nasty online. There are ways of dealing with things and that’s not it.

of course they are 🙄 all these influencers say the same thing to get away with bad behaviour

They might not either.
What goes around comes around.
Remind me what she does again for a living Holly?

Why does it matter what she does for a living?

Yes since they split. She wanted to move back near her parents in Wales. I’m no Adam fan but he’s not treated her that badly from what I know. The home you’re referring to would have been near Loughborough for training.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/11/2025 08:28

If she invited her mum then his mum should have been invited as well

were both hen and stag in the same weekend ? Sure they could have found someone to have their child

AngelinaFibres · 12/11/2025 08:55

It's all very 'lower class'.

Fraudornot · 12/11/2025 09:09

The whole thing was about creating images for insta and mil didnt fit in to the look she was going for - shabby

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 12/11/2025 09:10

It's all very 'lower class'.

Nice!

Families of all classes fall out.
Including a rather significant one that's had more than one big bust up and we all know about it through leaks, books and interviews. Do you consider them to be "lower class" too.

Fraudornot · 12/11/2025 09:11

All these families are dysfunctional - both Gordon Ramsey and David beckham have had numerous affairs and the wives put up with it - the kids will know and hence it leads to problems down the line for any family

Twatalert · 12/11/2025 09:50

This is all BS. All the adult kids having MH is a red flag. The aunt going to press is a red flag. Now a source close to the mother speaking to press is a red flag. It's probably the mother herself.

Possibly Adam has seen how other families might work and has tried to put in place a few boundaries. They probably violate them and are in denial. All the talk how he forgot where he came from, he's changed etc is a massive projection by his parents. They won't consider boundaries as boundaries. They will consider it as rude and entitlement and being stuck up now that he's 'connected to money'. It's highly highly likely the parent are a massive issue here.
