Disgusting suggestion from DH - does anyone else actually do this?

He suggested I microwave a cup of tea out of a luke warm pot. Does anyone do this? I do not and never will.

ohhh that was a letdown

Fionasapples · 25/10/2025 13:50

I wouldn't, but I'm very fussy about tea.

justasking111 · 25/10/2025 13:51

Nope fussy too

LadyDarcy80s · 25/10/2025 13:51

So a teapot of tea poured in to a mug and reheated, I guess it’s no different than reheating a mug of tea poured straight from the kettle, I do that so I don’t see the problem.
Or as a more obvious answer, leave the bastard.

FaceBothered · 25/10/2025 13:51

I know lots of people who stick their tea in the microwave to warm it up.

I’ve never done it but I can’t see the problem 🤷‍♀️

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 25/10/2025 13:52

Yes I do when I forget to drink it. Sometimes I find another mug in the microwave from the last time it happened.

Meh, I do.

Jeez, I clicked to read quickly before the deletion message...could have taken my time 😂

GreenBlorgle · 25/10/2025 13:55

I’ve probably done it a couple of times, but am far more likely to do it with coffee. With tea it’s easier to make another cup or pot, but I make coffee by grinding beans and using a cafetière, so more time-consuming, if I discover a cup has gone cold.

Tiswa · 25/10/2025 13:59

I do for coffee regularly and it works

tea I tried and no don’t do it

Catpiece · 25/10/2025 14:00

I’ve done it. No one was harmed in the process

EsmeWeatherwaxHatpin · 25/10/2025 14:01

God no. Never. Make fresh. Cardinal sin of tea is letting a microwave near it. It needs love and care.

BernadetteJune · 25/10/2025 14:01

Yep - done it with coffee at work when I have left it and it has gone cold!

Tralalalama · 25/10/2025 14:02

Having basically been pregnant or breastfeeding or rearing small children for over 5 years yes I microwave my tea on the daily!

OooPourUsACupLove · 25/10/2025 14:02

We do all the time. I was shocked when I found out DH was doing it but eventually he slipped me a reheated tea without telling me and I realised although it looks nasty it's not too bad.

Blimey, I thought that was just me! It never seems to taste the same once reheated, anyway. Seems to work okay with coffee, though.

Fairycakesandbumming · 25/10/2025 14:03

I am also feeling let down. I might report it to get it moved to the sex topic.

FWIW no, I’m not into that kind of thing.

Bjorkdidit · 25/10/2025 14:04

Not at all what I was expecting, but yes I do, all the time. Its fine.

We have a teapot permanently on the go in our house and I like very hot tea. So if its being made more than about 15 minutes ago, I microwave it after dipping my finger in it to determine how long between 15 seconds and 2 minutes it needs to bring it back up to the temperature of lava.

strawgoh · 25/10/2025 14:04

I warm up mugs of already-made coffee or tea that have gone lukewarm, but never tea from a pot. It would be horribly stewed. You could probably tan leather with it.

OdeToTheNorthWestWind · 25/10/2025 14:05

Nooooo! 😧

Discombobble · 25/10/2025 14:05

All the time

crazeekat · 25/10/2025 14:08

Nope this is divorcable

BreezyPeachGoose · 25/10/2025 14:09

If you're using bags in a pot then yes, if it's loose leaf then no.
