Disgusting suggestion from DH - does anyone else actually do this?

He suggested I microwave a cup of tea out of a luke warm pot. Does anyone do this? I do not and never will.

Warming up tea that's already in a cup and been left on the side and forgotten about is one thing.

But... those of you who say you do... surely the tea has been sitting in the teapot and brewing away with tea bags or leaves for ages, and will be way too gutsy. I'm not a fan of that much tannin.

Fairycakesandbumming · 25/10/2025 14:10

Does he wear crocs?

Thunderytoday · 25/10/2025 14:11

I did it last night! No difference.

IDontHateRainbows · 25/10/2025 14:11

Well I've heard of teabagging....

Occasionally, in the garden. Is this a thing? We have been married 21 years…I should surely be aware of all these red flags by now.

This is what that Meatloaf song is about.

WhatNoRaisins · 25/10/2025 14:34

It's the kind of thing I'd have done at uni like eating a pot noodle that I'd never do now.

How dare he suggest you take the risk!

This is MN, so divorce him, then get his number so you can block him!

TheCurious0range · 25/10/2025 14:39

Is he American? (I had a traumatising tea making experience with an American housemate)

OnlyFangs · 25/10/2025 14:40

I do sometimes with coffee, and then always hate myself a little bit afterwards GrinBlush

KimHwn · 25/10/2025 14:41

zaxxon · 25/10/2025 13:50

ohhh that was a letdown

😂 Had decided before I clicked that it was going to be about rimming. And I don't mean the rim of a teacup.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 25/10/2025 14:46

I LIKE my tea stewed and bitter - but I won't ever microwave it. Coffee yes, but tea needs a careful hand and I'd rather make fresh than reheat it.

Nope - British through and through from fairly “high class stock” although you wouldn’t know it from his tea making shenanigans.

I have no real idea what this is, but I am guessing it is not to be Googled.

MumChp · 25/10/2025 14:51

Could be worse I guess.
We don't have a microwave.

LadyDarcy80s · 25/10/2025 13:51

So a teapot of tea poured in to a mug and reheated, I guess it’s no different than reheating a mug of tea poured straight from the kettle, I do that so I don’t see the problem.
Or as a more obvious answer, leave the bastard.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

VoltaireMittyDream · 25/10/2025 14:53

I have a real horror of drinks re-heated in the microwave.

Arising from the childhood trauma of my parents never cleaning the microwave, and chiefly using it to cook hot dogs for their beloved German Shepherd.

Anything that went in there came out smelling of yesterday’s hot dog. 🤢

Tavimama · 25/10/2025 14:56

LTB - disrespectful on so many levels 🫣😂

FastFood · 25/10/2025 14:56

Surely it's your ExH now.

KittyRannaldini · 25/10/2025 14:57

I was expecting bums. Oh well.

I microwave tea. I don't like it much but waste not, and all that.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 25/10/2025 15:00

Microwave+tea reminds me of Muriel's mum having a breakdown in Muriel's Wedding
