He suggested I microwave a cup of tea out of a luke warm pot. Does anyone do this? I do not and never will.

I know lots of people who stick their tea in the microwave to warm it up.

I’ve never done it but I can’t see the problem 🤷‍♀️

I do this. Sometimes more than once. 😱

HevenlyMeS · 26/10/2025 19:46

Yes I've warmed my mugs of tea in the microwave, just 30 seconds
Most surely saves waste & is much quicker than making a new mug💚

Someonelookedatmypostinghistorysoichanged · 26/10/2025 19:46

Oh jeez I was expecting you to say he ate shit and sugar sandwiches 🥪

Vitriolinsanity · 26/10/2025 19:48

Good Christ on a scooter, what fresh hell. No, no and thrice no. Just boil another cup.

All the time

Me too. Young kids. Many a cold tea!

Hahahahaa well played OP

I checked expecting he was suggesting pegging in a fetish outfit. But this is GENUINELY sick. Tea in a microwave??!? Foul. YANBU

I’ve done it. No one was harmed in the process

You need to be careful as the liquid can become superheated (over 100c) and once you break the surface, e.g with a spoon, it can rapidly expand and burn you seriously.
There is probably a YouTube video on this somewhere.

So a teapot of tea poured in to a mug and reheated, I guess it’s no different than reheating a mug of tea poured straight from the kettle, I do that so I don’t see the problem.
Or as a more obvious answer, leave the bastard.

Rotf 😆

Rosiedayss · 26/10/2025 20:40

Yes have done it, not before children though.
Standards dropped when i had children and tea or coffee would cool down if i got distracted with them..
Much easier to reheat than make fresh.
Lucky to drink it hot the second time.
Like i say, standards dropped

johnd2 · 26/10/2025 20:41

To be honest I had very high standards for tea (clean mug, water has to be just boiling) until kids and after 3+years of never finishing a mug of tea now I'll drink anything as long as it's been warm and is wet!

Oh yeah cross posted but exactly that! Hydration is the name of the game

Dear God no! Think of the children. Ltb.

(I can't remember how long it's been since I actually brewed tea in a teapot..with leaf tea. I bet it was really stewed)

ThePenguinIsDrunk · 26/10/2025 20:43

Christ alive. You'll have to LTB, only thing for it you know.

SP2024 · 26/10/2025 20:52

Nope 🤮 I’d just make a new cup. It reminds me of Muriel’s wedding microwaving tea

Chocolateisameal · 26/10/2025 20:57

I very rarely say this but there is only one solution- LTB!

ImogenBrocklehurst · 26/10/2025 21:04

I honestly thought it was going to be some depraved sexual activity.

He is grim, though.

Pot was made e.g at 10am. At approx 11:30am I mooted that I fancied a cup of tea. He said there was tea left over in the pot and to “whack it in the microwave” whereupon I called him an animal.

Bit lazy/tight to not simply whack the kettle on and whack some hot water in a new cup/pot of tea.

But not a hill I’d die on if everything else in the garden is rosey.

TryingToFigureItOut2 · 26/10/2025 21:23

I don't drink tea, but LOL at the people who say they felt let down after the title.
I can't see the phrase "let down" without thinking that it's a technical discussion of breastfeeding.

That it should come to this.

Yup
I was preparing myself for a ‘Jack the Rimmer’ scenario or Pegging in a public area at the very least ??

MiloMinderbinder · 26/10/2025 21:35

How comical! I wouldn’t bother to warm it up. Cup of tea from yesterday? Still ok, cold. But coffee from yesterday? In the microwave. I’m not a barbarian

Kibble19 · 26/10/2025 21:50

Are the people who microwave tea also the ones who share bathwater with their family?

Delphiniumandlupins · 26/10/2025 21:54

So long as you haven't added milk, microwaving tea is fine.
