Disgusting suggestion from DH - does anyone else actually do this?

He suggested I microwave a cup of tea out of a luke warm pot. Does anyone do this? I do not and never will.

I have done this once when I was being lazy but it's a waste of time cos it's horrid. Do it once and he'll never ask again!!!

I'm quite fussy with my tea (I make a great one) and microwave is a go to for reheating.

Yes I do this. More often with coffee though.

I see her cunning plan. She clearly thought "Troysmammy is old enough to make her own lunch, how can I get her to start doing it herself? I know, dull as ditchwater". My MIL used to make my DH's sandwich lunch in a similar fashion, ie hardly any filling against the acres of bread. But worse, she made them in batches and froze them, so most of the time when he got to lunchtime the waffer-thin slice of ham was still frozen. He soon resorted to making his own lunch...

Re tea that has gone beyond the limit of acceptable tea temperature: It's dead, let it go. Make another one. Microwaving will ruin the flavour irrevocably.

Yes I do it all the time. Several times in the same cup. My OH is aghast like you are and he doesnt even drink tea so he has no right to an opinion on it

I microwave tea that’s gone cold before I could drink it all the time. 40s on high for a mug. Works fine.

Yes thats me, the 40s is just right. Any more and its too scalding. Any less and you just have to put it back in.

And hows this OP, brace yourself, if I have a cuppa just before bed and I either dont drink it or I only drink half of it and it sits by the side of the bed all night, I warm that up in the morning because its quicker than making a whole new cup first thing.

I wouldn’t leave it in the pot to over-stew. But an extra mug-full is always poured out for microwaving later.

Agree with the people saying this was a letdown! Was sure the disgusting thing would be something to do with sex.

In the past when I've tried to microwave my cuppa there was this awful coating left on the inside of the cup so it's a no from me.

Yes, quite often! All those times you have a few sips then needed, quick pop in microwave, perfect! Xx

I accidentally bought loose leaf tea rather than bags so I’ve been making myself a pot then warming up individual cups in the microwave throughout the morning. I love it.

Heating mugs of any drink is a roulette game with injury. Microwaves heat unevenly so you can completely unpredictably wind up with a superheated liquid that erupts out of the mug when you move it & then it's off to A&E with your dominant hand & all the fun & games of daily dressing changes. The same uneven heating stews the tea & impairs flavour.
