What did you eat today?

A few months ago there was a really fun series of threads where people listed what they’d eaten that day (and had a general chat).

I really enjoyed it but can’t find it anymore so I thought I’d start one.

It was really interesting and varied (it’s not a weight loss or judgy thread- unless the judgement is ‘that sounds delicious, what’s the recipe/where did you buy it?’). Everyone is welcome!

Today I’ve had:
Breakfast- Scrambled eggs, sautéed veg (tomatoes, red onion, spinach, mushrooms). And tea with milk.

Snack- Americano with milk

Lunch- Chicken salad (chicken breast, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, avocado, sesame dressing).
Followed by low fat Greek yoghurt with peanut butter, strawberries, nectarine and blueberries.

Dinner- Will be roasted salmon, homemade potato wedges, roasted courgette/tomato/onion/fennel.
Followed by a watermelon and lime ice lolly (I make my own so it’s just fruit).

I’ve just started weight watchers so it’s not the most exciting day (I’ve also tried to cut out UPFs as much as possible and use my points on high fat whole foods like avocado and nuts). I’m looking forward to living vicariously through other people’s treats!

I’ve had a craving for a filet of fish since they launched the double , dropped husband off at station for a day out and succumbed - it wasn’t very nice at all but the dog really enjoyed his cheeseburger and we have two McFlurrys in the freezer for a treat tonight

MrsSkylerWhite · 12/07/2025 12:43

Cup of coffee. Not at all hungry in this heat.

CrispyK · 12/07/2025 12:44

Sounds healthy, tasty and fresh OP.

no breakfast for me today. Find it easy to skip on a weekend for some reason.

Tuna with a mixed salad, and a chocolate mini roll.

Dinner (Tea for us!) will be spaghetti carbonara freshened up with added courgette, peas & parsley

I’ve not eaten yet today but yesterday I had:
brunch - sausage, tomato and eggs in a wrap
dinner - salad of leaves, tomatoes, spring onions, avocado, sweetcorn, baby cucumbers, smoky potato salad and squash& spinnach croquettes covered in ‘everything’ seasoning

snack - mini twister (the king of ice lollies)

MrsSethGecko · 12/07/2025 12:46

Oatmeal soda bread, butter, feta cheese and a beetroot whilst it was cool this morning.

Tried some pasta and courgette soup just now but it's so hot I can't.

So it'll be pasta and courgette soup for dinner!

Bluevelvetsofa · 12/07/2025 12:49

I’m part way through a bowl of cherries, peaches, strawberries, raspberries and grapes, with Greek yoghurt and flaked almonds.

Dinner will be chicken kebabs with padron pepper, mushrooms, onion and tomato.

Flatbellyfella · 12/07/2025 13:03

FurForksSake · 12/07/2025 13:05

Nothing yet, the heat doesn’t make me want to eat.

no idea what’s for dinner, but dh has taken kids out to a fete and might eat there so we can have a very light dinner.

notatallcuriousmama · 12/07/2025 13:07

Nothing yet as Intermittent fasting. I might do sardines with salad for lunch before work.

whatwasthatnoise · 12/07/2025 13:08

Breakfast was crunchy nut cornflakes and 2 cups of tea.
Then had a pot of tea and packet of S&V crisps at M&S cafe.
Lunch was pate on toast, cherries, raspberries, yoghurt and a pint of squash.
I'm away to a fundraider event this afternoon with the kids where I will eat one of the home bakes I donated 😂 and drink more tea.
Dinner is salad, peppered mackerel, coleslaw, olives. Plus some hassle back potatoes I got in M&S with a yellow sticker. There is some just out of date cream in the fridge, unopened, that will have with some out of date mini meringues and fresh strawberries for pudding. Wine will feature heavily.

That all sounds amazing. I might steal the chicken kebab idea for dinner tomorrow- I hadn’t thought about putting padron peppers on there but it’s a great idea!

Too hot to eat! Yesterday I had a protein shake and a vegetable stir fry.

Today so far I’ve had some watermelon. Picked up faggots and peas from the hot counter at the farm shop for lunch, seems like a weird thing to eat on a hot day but I didn’t have to cook it!

Got strawberries and cream ready for the Wimbledon ladies’ final later. Also some burgers and salad for an easy dinner.

ThirdStorm · 12/07/2025 13:09

Fish finger sandwich.

CalicoPusscat · 12/07/2025 13:17

Hot smoked salmon sandwich, fruit, oatmeal bar, mozzarella and spinach wrap, fake ham sandwich.

Tonight fish burger and green beans. Might get more fruit. I have a freebie from Lidl bakery so I'll choose later.

camshaft · 12/07/2025 13:20

McDonald’s sausage and egg McMuffin and a hash brown. Oops.

tumblingdowntherabbithole · 12/07/2025 13:26

So far:

Biscoff croissant
Coffee with milk
Fresh fruit salad
Sparkling apple juice
Chicken mayo and cucumber flatbread
Babybel
A couple of deli snack things from the fridge
Ready salted Walkers
Pepsi Max

Chateaudiaries · 12/07/2025 13:26

Sourdough toast, boiled egg and cheese
museli with yogurt and half a banana

large slice homemade chocolate cake with tea.

That will be it until salad, halloumi and couscous tonight.

fireplaceember · 12/07/2025 13:29

A mango lassi and a piece of out of date quiche Blush
food shop day is tomorrow….

going to have something with a flatbread later… maybe chilli crisp eggs and avocado

ninjahamster · 12/07/2025 13:32

Breakfast - fruit and fibre cereal with milk and a black coffee.
lunch - egg mayo sandwich.

Dinner I’m roasting a chicken and serving with new potatoes, salad, halloumi.

Lots of squash and fizzy water.

TheChosenTwo · 12/07/2025 13:37

So far half a bacon sandwich and a nectarine.
I’m on MJ so my appetite is smaller than it used to be.
We are going out later and there’s a BBQ so will have a hotdog or something similar and that will be me done for the day.
Usually my days are very veg and protein heavy but not every day is perfect!

UmbrellaEllaEllaElla · 12/07/2025 13:40

I also struggle to eat when it's hot. It wipes my appetite. I wonder why that is.

All I've had this morning is a banana and water.

reversegear · 12/07/2025 13:43

I’ve had a piece of toast brown bread with jam, and a total yogurt with pomegranate, plus a few gallons of water and 2 black coffees.

This is my new life until I have my gallbladder surgery. I’m forcing myself to eat as Im terrified of the pain and I have a zero fat 25+ days ahead of me to avoid another flare pre surgery.

I think post surgery I’ll carry on as well a donated to loose some weight, I do eat lots of fats but mostly nuts and avocados and what’s considered good fats but my gallbladder has had enough and jammed a stone in a duct so she is being evicted.

reversegear · 12/07/2025 13:46

such great ideas for meals on here, love the variety.

PebbleyWebbley · 12/07/2025 13:47

Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, orange juice and cup of tea for breakfast

Cup of tea and about 5 fruit shortcake biscuits for mid morning snack

Nice & Spicy NikNaks and strawberry muller corner yoghurt for lunch so far

Feeling rubbish after reading all your tasty meals but have got a tesco shop due to be delivered in the next hour so looking forward to having nicer food in the house and will use this thread for motivation, thanks!

MumbleJumble123 · 12/07/2025 14:18

@CalicoPusscat the fish burger sounds great. What do you put in it?

@tumblingdowntherabbithole a biscoff croissant sounds delicious. It’s my birthday next week and I’ve already got my eye on a pistachio and dark chocolate croissant in a local bakery 😂

@PebbleyWebbley Spicy Nic Nacs are my favourite. For a while it was great because my toddler hates spicy things so he didn’t insist we share, but now ‘I like THESE spicy things’
