I’m kinda sick of it, although heading to the seaside at the weekend so that kinda makes up for it but sick of the sleepless nights

seems to be going on forever

it must be global heating surely ?

Really dreading it. Last few weeks we’ve struggled to get the bedrooms below 28 degrees and it’s hit 35 in previous years even with curtains closed, windows open when it’s cooler outside and fans on windowsills, etc. We only have a postage stamp patio bit outside and not a proper garden where we can sit. Driving (with the air con on) a couple of weeks ago and was sat in traffic in full sun and sweat was literally dripping from my chin. It’s hellish and it makes summer feel like something to endure rather than enjoy.

Notmycircusnotmyotter · 09/07/2025 22:12

Looking forward to it

You've got the wrong end of the stick buddy, I can't sleep in this heat either
It's too hot for me

Oh yes, just ignore me. I'm a moron!

EscapeToSuffolk · 09/07/2025 22:15

Heat affecting brain

myfriendsfamily · 09/07/2025 22:16

Absolutely shit because I’m 30 weeks pregnant!

SpottyAardvark · 09/07/2025 22:17

After two consecutive years without anything resembling a proper spring or summer followed by constant, relentless rain causing unprecedented flooding in autumn & winter I’m loving every minute of 2025’s glorious weather.

Long may it continue. 😎

Give me over cast weather any day of the week. 15C and no higher!

15C !!!!!! It's going to be warmer than that here today and we are in winter!!!

I'm envious of your coming heatwave - can't wait for summer here.

Don’t be envious! My colleagues from Nigeria and Greece were complaining today how intolerable the heat is and how much more horrible it is than their home countries!

Mistyglade · 09/07/2025 22:41

Love it mate.

Move to the Isle of Man! Your wish will be granted

twobabiesandapup · 09/07/2025 22:46

Ordinarily I would be all for it!! But currently dreading it as my 19 month old son cannot sleep in it at all and ends up very tired and sad, plus as of last Saturday we now have a newborn as well who I’m pretty sure is not going to be impressed at all! Our upstairs just gets so bloody hot so we’re going to spending the days with tired grumpy children until it cools down!

Bring it on.

Well I've never been to Nigeria or Greece, but I've never heard anyone from this part of the world say they find the heat in the UK intolerable.

Veryvulture · 09/07/2025 23:46

I am absolutely loving it, but, thats because I’m stuck at home waiting for operation at the mo, and bored! If I had to be at work it would be another story.
I’m loving sitting in the sun, pottering in the garden, drying washing super fast…if it was winter I think I’d have gone crazy by now!

Empress13 · 09/07/2025 23:46

I’m sick of not being able to take dog out when I want having to go super early or late at night when I’m shattered after hard days work in a hot stuffy office 😩

Weatenaet · 10/07/2025 00:03

I'm tired of it. I've got the dcs off school but I've committed us to various activities which mean lots of travel on hot buses and tubes. All paid for so I can't back out of it and the dcs will enjoy it but it's lots of running around for me. I would quite enjoy it if we had no plans and could go to splash parks and explore shady forests all day.

PuppyMonkey · 10/07/2025 07:18

Yeah but those heatwaves lasted about 3-4 days as I recall. So that’s twice/three times last summer we had short spells of good weather. Rest of the time it pissed it down.Grin

Yorkshiremum80 · 10/07/2025 07:23

Love it, can't wait for 30 degrees this weekend. Three BBQs planned, day out on Sunday at a inflatable water park and a bit of tennis on Saturday afternoon. Only downside is we have a hosepipe ban coming so my grass will get a bit dry and brown. But as a family we love hot weather.

WoahThreeAces · 10/07/2025 07:27

It's great - thankfully justifying the ludicrous expense of a big framed pool (and pump and chlorine and net and inflatables...) as we've used it every day and looks like we will continue to 😂

Allisgoodtoday · 10/07/2025 07:44

I hate the heat, I dread summer every year. Last year's summer was (almost) manageable but this year we're back to too hot, too dry, too much sunshine. I find it utterly unbearable, I have curtains closed, several air conditioners on 24/7 but still find it problematic. High heat can make me physically sick. I lose all my energy in the summer, I can't think straight etc.

Never mind, the nights are drawing in already and Christmas is less than 6 months away now. That gives me great pleasure....as soon as autumn arrives and the days get cooler, I suddenly get all my 'oomph' back, masses of energy, full of zest for life and new ideas etc. Bring on winter!!

CeeJay81 · 10/07/2025 08:02

20 to 25 is lovely. 28, 29 and 30 on Fri, Sat, Sun is not so lovely. Thankfully I'm off work for a week, although we have air con at work, so maybe ill want to go in lol. If we had air con at home I'd be ok but I feel miserable if I can't sleep.

Well I've never been to Nigeria or Greece, but I've never heard anyone from this part of the world say they find the heat in the UK intolerable.

One of them was complaining that they are getting woken up at 5am every day because their bedroom gets so hot, which is a problem they never had back home. UK buildings are designed to trap heat and there’s no AC in most homes, transport, workplaces, restaurants etc so no escape from it. The average temperature on the Victoria line (tube line) is 28 degrees all year round so you can imagine what fun taking the tube in summer is 🫠
