I’m kinda sick of it, although heading to the seaside at the weekend so that kinda makes up for it but sick of the sleepless nights

seems to be going on forever

it must be global heating surely ?

It was dull and rainy last year and the year before but that wasn't normal weather either. It rained almost every day.

I'd really love you to be correct and this be normal, but it's just playing out as predicted by scientists. In fact it's worse because they didn't predict the high ocean surface temperatures. Why do you think you can cherry pick 'evidence' and know better than climate scientists?

18!

FlowerPower2525 · 09/07/2025 19:16

I don't mind it. However 31/32 degrees I wouldn't go to the beach it would make me too miserable. Beach I like around 25 degrees.

Crikey OP you really should try to develop some empathy. A lot of people (myself included) feel very ill once the temperature goes above around 23C. One day you may have a chronic health condition and not be able to deal with the heat yourself.

You've got the wrong end of the stick buddy, I can't sleep in this heat either
It's too hot for me

It's rubbish. I've got digestive issues too and migraines...so many things going on that I can't even tell what's making me feel ill.

I've got this thing that you can wrap around your waist and it holds either ice packs or a hot water bottle. I got it from Amazon.

ooh i like the sound of that

VerbenaGirl · 09/07/2025 19:21

It’s just weather, I’ll get on with life as normal, but in skimpier clothing and with the windows open at night.

PlutarchHeavensbee · 09/07/2025 19:22

Fucking dreading it. Brings all the arsehole entitled dick neighbours out with their loud music until the early hours, drunken parties, barking dogs and barbecues. Yes I’m antisocial but having put up with it for years now, I’m fucking cured. Can’t wait till it rains and sends the twats running indoors.

I think that this year, we are actually getting a summer. Remember the relentless grey cloud of the last 2?

I remember sun last 2 summers.

Last summer was rubbish. In Devon anyway. We eat outside when we can in the summer and managed one single evening last summer. Depressing.

Ihateboris · 09/07/2025 19:29

LOVE IT

So excited

BeamMeUpCountMeIn · 09/07/2025 19:44

Rather worried for the farmers and water levels. We will be paying a lot more for a smaller harvest over the next few months.

Will make sure I keep topping up the bird and hedgehog water.

Not worried for me personally as I like the heat. I'll just have to take it very easy running.

Cherrytree86 · 09/07/2025 19:51

Bring it on!!!

Luckyingame · 09/07/2025 19:51

Just fine (SE). I grew up in an apartment, where services were included in monthly payments. At least I don't have to tend to the bloody grass, because there isn't any.

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 09/07/2025 19:51

Always felt like we get decent summers in May/June and then July/Aug ends up a disappointment.

You can bet as soon as school finishes the weather will turn colder again.

I don't hate the warm weather, I cope okay, but I hate the pressure to "be outside" because it's nice. DH wanted to sit outside yesterday when I finished work, but id had a stinker of a day and just wanted to veg in front of some tv.

When my kids were young, everyone was disgusted that I didn't have them out in parks and on walks etc etc but they're pale gingers, keeping them sunsafe was stressful and they got grotty in the heat. But it was the epitome of abuse to sit them in a darkened room with curtains closed against the heat.

We bought ours from John Lewis. We bought 5 so it worked out quite pricey but they’re the best purchase we’ve ever made.

Loads of good AC units were sold out when I was looking this week for one for my Dd who lives in a flat, so don’t take too long! Not worth buying anything below 9000 BTU which added to the challenges

I haven’t checked John Lewis so they may be fine.

I’m in the attic room with the AC unit on ( SE) and it’s lovely!

remarkablecauliflower · 09/07/2025 20:00

Pretty sick of it now tbh. But not losing my shit like some parents are over sports day on Friday. If you’re genuinely worried about convulsions on the playing field Debbie Drama then maybe just keep your kid home that day

CoubousAndTourmalet · 09/07/2025 20:02

I'm scared.
I'm asthmatic and suffer migraine, both of which are worse for extreme heat.
We also have a big hairy dog. I have no idea how we'll manage to keep her cool.

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 09/07/2025 20:04

Fed up.
Over it.
Too bloody hot.
Bring on the autumn. Now. Please.

No. Northumberland.😀

JenniferBooth · 09/07/2025 20:23

Cant even take a shit without sweating my guts out When the HAs contractors come next week IM NOT LIFTING A FUCKING FINGER

Idontknowhatnametochoose · 09/07/2025 20:25

Love it.

I suffer with SAD and I can't cope going into autumn if there hasn't been a decent summer.

Buy a cooling mat for her. Amazon sell them.

schools are teaching about climate change but still hold sports days in July Mixed messages much. If they believe in climate change to the point that its in the curriculum why havent sports days been moved to April???!!!!!!!!
