Virginia Giuffre (TW: suicide)

It’s being reported that Virginia Roberts Giuffre has died by suicide.

I hope Prince Andrew’s shady supporters won’t try to make hay from this. They’ve been revolting recently about her evident trauma.

I agree. The day the Queen bailed Andrew out willingly was the day the Monarchy lost. She was as complicit as her son,yet we are told we must remember Andrew was never charged with anything! I hope the power they hold is worth it to them cos in the moral and decency stakes they have none that is all they have power.

The rich think they can pay their way out of all troubles. They are utterly disgusting - treating vulnberable minors as toys to be discarded at will.

The exact amount that Prince Andrew (not the Queen herself) paid to Virginia Giuffre as part of their out-of-court settlement in 2022 was never officially disclosed. However, British media outlets reported that the settlement was estimated to be around £12 million (approximately $16 million USD at the time).
It's widely believed that Queen Elizabeth II helped fund the settlement, possibly through private funds from the Duchy of Lancaster or her personal wealth, but the Palace never confirmed this.

Poor woman she was clearly not well when she made the comment about only having four days to live. I hope being called out on the inaccuracies and her reliability being questioned did not impact her decision to take her life. I’m assuming it sadly did

Not sure that’s a solid assumption. I would think it was more a case of the poor woman realising there was the very real chance of never seeing her children again. She was prohibited to contact them (due to a family violence order). She was due in court imminently to face associated charges. I think it was this that caused her end mindset. It's well and good to say that the kids would have seen her after they turned 18yo but who knows, maybe due to goings ons they wouldn’t want to? That would be a lot to take on and I imagine it really hit home when she did the fake bus injury/dying stuff (as ambulance, police, district health all came out saying nothing if that description with any of their services), as it seemed centred around wanting to see her kids. She took a pretty extreme approach and when they didn’t front up to see ‘dying mum’ I’m guessing it drove home to her that she may well not see them again. I think that’s likely what tipped her over the cliff.

eta- I’m in Australia and it received quite a bit of press here.

Bingbopboomboomboombopbam · 26/04/2025 06:39

This is horrendous, poor woman. And poor children who just lost their mother.

You just know Andrew is happy she’s out
of the way, now everything will soon be forgotten. And Ghislaine is still alive, that rat.

TeenyTotAndTiny · 26/04/2025 06:41

Has a coroner actually determined suicide? Until that happens we don’t really know what has happened.

No doubt the lecherous Prince Andrew will carry on living his life as normal. Disgraceful!

Lady Victoria Hervey is a heartless human being . She has commented on this death by stating that ‘when your lies catch up with you there is no way out’
I always thought that VH was a pointless waste of space . What a cruel woman

That woman is a complete scum bag. Horrible.

I knew she would pop back up and continue the smear campaign but I wasn’t expecting it to be so soon, nor so direct. Just pure nastiness. To a woman who died by suicide mere hours ago. Nauseating.

Your sources?

All of what that poster says was widely reported by many credible news sources. The driver of the bus reported the minor incident to the police. Even some parents of children on the bus stated their children confirmed it was a minor incident, with no injuries.

The police have said “not suspicious”. The family have said it was suicide.

That poor woman

ThePoshUns · 26/04/2025 06:49

How very sad, she had an awful childhood, then was sexually exploited. She did well to have lived a normal life after that. May she rest in peace. And may those who abused her feel some shame today.

SpidersAreShitheads · 26/04/2025 06:50

Middlechild3 · 26/04/2025 06:08

Your sources?

I’m not here to slate Virginia but she clearly was having troubles. Given the fact she was horribly abused as a child, it’s hardly surprising that she never found peace.

Theres a very long previous thread that was posted when she did her “4 days to live” Instagram post. It’s all on there.

Some of the sources include the bus driver who she had the prang with and a statement from the local police.

The “4 days to live” was on her own account, as is the very odd photo which bears no correlation to a) standard medical protocols for critical care b) the injuries that were independently reported.

The restraining order and estrangement were all reported widely, backed by court documents, and not disputed by her family. She was listed to appear in court on domestic violence charges 10 days before the bus accident.

Virginia later said she never meant to release the “4 days to live” statement and photo publicly. Her family (brother?) later denied that she meant the bus injured her, which made absolutely no sense if you read her instagram post. I think they were doing their very best to shield her.

Believe me, don’t believe me, don’t really care tbh. I’m not really interested in scoring points. But a brusque “your sources”? is a pretty rude response. Maybe try googling it yourself next time first because all of that is readily available from multiple sources. Take your pick.

If you prefer to believe that she was taken out by a mysterious force working for the royal family, knock yourself out.

Either way she’s dead now and that’s just really sad. I imagine the impact on her children will be devastating, especially as much has been made over their estrangement being a contributory factor.

The fact that she clearly wasn’t in a good frame of mind and was acting strangely just a short time before makes this less of a surprise but still a tragedy.

Monty88 · 26/04/2025 06:50

Why was she estranged from her children, does anyone know?

TeenyTotAndTiny · 26/04/2025 06:51

BottleBlondeMachiavelli · 26/04/2025 06:45

The police have said “not suspicious”. The family have said it was suicide.

The coroner is the only person who decides whether it was suicide. Until that happens it is mere speculation.

It’s a working assumption. Clearly believed by those closest to her.

The police release these “not considered suspicious” comments when appropriate to stem speculation about the death. Speculation that is in all likelihood misplaced. Given the speed at which the conspiracy comments started, it was a good decision.

Such sad news to wake up to . So sad when anyone dies by suicide . Tragic that she and other sexual abuse victims are unable to recover from the trauma that they suffered and move past this . Thanks to the person that flagged the Guardian article . It seems that she did a lot for other abuse victims . Whilst she reached a financial settlement with Prince Andrew and was able to build a new life in Australia with her family that sadly wasn’t enough for her to move beyond her very troubled past . It has been reported that she was estranged from her family and there was also the social media posts where she recently claimed to have only 4 days to live after what was later reported as a minor car crash . This was later retracted by her . She helped bring Epstein and Maxwell to some kind of justice and to expose the horrific abuse and trafficking that had gone on . Sadly the cost of doing so , the publicity etc took a considerable toll on her . Thinking of her loved ones , friends and other victims x

I agree. It’s all there in front of our eyes- Mountbatten, Charles and friends , Andrew protected by the queen . Disgusting family.

But it is still only the corner who decides whether the death was suicide. The inquest will need to take place before the cause of death can be concluded.

GonzoParker · 26/04/2025 06:58

What actually happened regarding the cival case again Andrew ? did the queen pay her off in a settlement?

Out of court settlement. Most of the funds said to come from HMQ. Not a good day for the monarchy. Bad decision from the Queen. I expect the disgusting 60 year old “playboy” was quite pleased to have mummy tidying up after him, though.

Not much has been made public IIRC.

She had split from her husband and the teenage DC have stayed with him, and had apparently cut her off completely. Didn’t turn up to the hospital or respond to her “4 days to live” episode.

Before the accident she posted something along the lines of her DC being poisoned with lies.

There was a domestic violence restraining order in place which she’d allegedly breached and was due in court for this.

It sounds horrible, messy, and painful, but there’s no exact details as far as I know.

Thanks for the clarification

I’m so disappointed jn the queen
I really didn’t think she’d do that
I really thought she would put the monarchy and the country and truth first

now thats her legacy

time for Charles to move on and start a fresh with wills and kate
they will be fresh blood free from scandal

none wants a side chick Camilla as queen
or cheating Charles as king

it badly needs a new start and I think William and Kate are just what the monarchy need
