Hello all. Just checking in. Darren Jones on Kussenberg this morning, wonder if he's going to tell everyone we are going to get less pocket money?

EasternStandard · 06/04/2025 08:23

Morning, thanks @TheNuthatch

I m avoiding Starmer’s headlines or pummelling out on having to change things. Given the policies that have hit businesses already the hypocrisy and posturing makes me feel ill.

Just so bad. Tg for this thread

And what would the previous Govt of 14 years be doing that would be so much better? Would the potholes be fixed, the rivers cleaner? Heathrow electrics the envy of the world? World circumstances change and the Govt of the day has to adapt. The Tories get to sit on the sidelines ATM but they would still be facing the same issues.

@Pedallleur Do stop trying to confuse the issue with facts and reality.

You and I both know that a Tory Govt, in these circumstances would have been even worse, but it's not nice to say so and shatter the illusion.

Lisa Nandy has been out to County Durham this week to tell voters that Labour has changed as a party. 😁 You can tell from the comments in the Northern Echo that it isn't a message that is really landing. These local elections are going to be really interesting.

Labour tells County Durham voters it has 'changed' in plea ahead of local elections

The Labour Party insists it has changed and is helping make people’s lives easier in an impassioned plea to voters ahead of the County Durham…

TheNuthatch · 06/04/2025 10:06

Darren Jones this morning was infuriating. He is in complete denial at the damage caused to SMEs. I had to switch it off.

Ha at Lisa Nandy. I'm amazed that Labour's local election slogan is 'change'. I'm sure the people of Birmingham are looking forward to 'change'.

EasternStandard · 06/04/2025 11:05

‘Change’ must mean something else given how much people dislike them. I guess they’re going for that pre GE touch, not sure it exists anymore.

Not many posts on here about the rubbish, it looks so bad.

I’m avoiding several Labour MPs on the radio and KS of course, will rely on this thread for laughs instead.

Parsley1234 · 06/04/2025 11:16

@TheNuthatch yhet have no idea as none of them have been in business they are complete imbeciles

billysboy · 06/04/2025 15:00

How are Angela Rayners housing targets doing ? Still on track to build 1.5m new homes ?

Pedallleur · 06/04/2025 16:40

Kemi talking about borders this am. How did that work for your party in the last 14 years. Now that US support for NATO has been lessened what about those defence cuts your party made? Had the Tories been successful in the last election what do the posters here think their party would do in light of current events?

Exactly what businesses did Boris Johnson run/own?

SomethingSScintillating · 06/04/2025 16:56

Checking in for a moan.
I didn't vote for labour but a part of me was hopeful that they would bring fresh eyes to problems and maybe they have, but in terms of where they have spread money and robbed money is an absolute disaster.
Giving ed millband billions whilst education is still under funded and on it's knees, attacking people with sen, pip etc and taxing work not profit.

It's an absolute disaster

Construction industry is contracting, so not very well.

Recent polling suggests there are a lot of people who feel exactly as you do. Labour could have done anything with such a huge majority.

Jonathan Reynolds actually does know what he is talking about.

Upstartled · 06/04/2025 17:24

TheNuthatch · 06/04/2025 17:16

Fastest rate of job shedding in the industry for 4.5yrs - so when covid was hitting the fan, presumably? That is worse than I had imagined.

Parsley1234 · 06/04/2025 17:30

@SpringerSprockerCocker ate you insane ! Jonathan Reynolds is a complete imbecile who said he was a solicitor but then he wasn’t ! Is that the best you can find ?

SpringerSprockerCocker · 06/04/2025 17:31

Kemi Badenoch on Israel situation anyone? Or are you all too busy contemplating your crocuses?

Well I can punctuate sentences, unlike some on here so that’s a start. His background is irrelevant. He knows his stuff. Have you met him?

Parsley1234 · 06/04/2025 17:34

@SpringerSprockerCocker what about her and Israel surely she was right in what she said ?
@Upstartled never mind about your back pocket pocket money they’re going further and faster bet you did t know that 🤣🤣🤣

Parsley1234 · 06/04/2025 17:36

@SpringerSprockerCocker why would I want to meet him ? What has my lack of punctuation to do with anything ? I think you’re on the wrong thread Starmer apologists are very far away from here
