Should anyone want to watch the worst film ever made and/or deliberately waste an hour of their lives....

....then it has just started on Film 4.

Enemy Mine. About an astronaut and a male alien who collide in space and crash land on a planet. The male alien turns out to be pregnant and they co-exist on some hostile planet or other.

Really shite.

I see Enemy Mine and raise you The Starling.

Talonz · 01/03/2025 15:12

Oh, if that is worse I shall have to deliberately not watch it. Thanks for the tip./

The mind just boggles. Made in 1985, so after Alien and Blade Runner, and someone decides to produce this total crap.

I mean, the NASA astronaut acts as midwife and assists the alien bloke give birth. What fuck wittery is this.

Is at bad as every movie shown on the Lifetime channel ?

Rocknrollstar · 01/03/2025 16:03

I offer The Royal Tennenbaums. We left halfway through

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 01/03/2025 16:08

I offer The Lighthouse and Tenet

Tenet I walked out of

The Lighthouse I'm still not sure what I watched

I also hated Roma and The Shape Of Water which were Oscar Nominated

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 01/03/2025 16:10

The only film I’ve ever walked out of - Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Utter guff.

Cattery · 01/03/2025 16:10

Im going to offer The Revenant. Some bloke stumbling about mumbling then sleeping in half a horse

whatnooow · 01/03/2025 16:12

Kinda pregnant on Netflix is possibly the worst film I've seen

I really liked this film, even though it is not an easy watch. The conditions are so harsh. I watched Civil War when it came out, and was like, never again, what a waste of my time😵‍💫

MeganCarter · 01/03/2025 16:13

or even Howard the Duck at someone’s house, her children were agog, we said, can’t really stop…

Chuchoter · 01/03/2025 16:14

The remake of Total Recall with Kate Beckinsale.

She hasn't been one of the worst actresses imaginable but she was absolutely dreadful in this.

The original film is terrific. The remake is an insult.

Deedeesharpwhatkindoflady · 01/03/2025 16:16

Waterworld..think mad max but on water.
It was a pure turkey.

BoudiccaRising · 01/03/2025 16:18

No, no, no. The odd life of Timothy Green, the kid turns into a plant or something, I still don’t understand what the hell happened.

Keepingittogetherstepbystep · 01/03/2025 16:18

The telephone with Whoppi Goldberg

Just a room , a telephone and a noisy neighbour. Sheer hell, I only watched it to the end as I stupidly thought it might get better.

TooBigForMyBoots · 01/03/2025 16:18

50 Shades of Grey. 20 minutes in, I'm out.

Cyclistmumgrandma · 01/03/2025 16:19

Plan 9 From Outer Space. So bad it's good. Winner of a Golden Turkey award. Billed as starring Bêla Lugosi but he died when they only had a few seconds of footage so they used a substitute who was about a foot shorter with a cloak across his face the whole time. Diabolical continuity- I could go on......

Sherararara · 01/03/2025 16:46

Sorry but I fond memories of Enemy Mine as a kid in the eighties. Admittedly haven’t seen it in years but would always watch it when it was on.

We walked out of Tenet too!

The Bedsitting Room. Spike Milligan & gang.
It really was fucking nuts. I couldn't stop watching 😂

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 01/03/2025 16:52

@Waterlilysunset

So noisy you couldn't hear the dialogue or have a vague understanding of plot and Ken Branagh eating the scenery with his Russian accent

We saw this for the first time very recently. It lived up to its reputation. Excruciatingly bad.

My husband recently saw a bit of a film variously known as either Prehistoric Women or Slave Girls. It was a 1967 follow up to One Million Years BC. He thinks it was made to get a bit more wear out of the fur bikinis. He says it was as bad as Plan 9 from Outer Space, which is saying something. This is what IMDB has to say about it:

Jungle guide David is kidnapped by a tribe of natives who want to sacrifice him to their white rhino god. Just as he is about to be killed, however, he is thrown backwards in time to a kingdom of brunette women and their blonde slaves.

The mind boggles.

BeyondMyWits · 01/03/2025 16:55

Where the wild things are. A 40 page picture book for kids made into 101 neverending minutes of crap. We PAID to watch it at the cinema. Really awful.

😮 I love everything that Wes Anderson has made.

icebearforpresident · 01/03/2025 16:57

Staying Alive - the sequel to Saturday Night Fever. Tony decides he wants to make it as a professional dancer but without the awesome soundtrack. Sylvester Stallone directed it which probably tells you everything you need to know.
