....then it has just started on Film 4.

Enemy Mine. About an astronaut and a male alien who collide in space and crash land on a planet. The male alien turns out to be pregnant and they co-exist on some hostile planet or other.

Really shite.

I quite like Brad Pitt generally but the following were just awful

curious case of Benjamin button
meet Joe black

Agree on Benjamin Button but love Meet Joe Black. Love the music and Anthony Hopkins is fantastic.

CharlotteSometimes1 · 01/03/2025 18:09

Oooh so you haven’t seen Annette then? Adam Driver tries too hard to be arty singing in a bad operatic style to the music of ‘80s band Sparks. I stayed in the cinema because I thought DH was enjoying it, he did the same. We now have a system for communication during shit films.

Lairymary · 01/03/2025 18:10

I offer you all....... The Greasy Strangler. It's truly bewildering.

sciaticafanatica · 01/03/2025 18:10

The pledge = some bloke sitting on a bench.
I would rather gouge my eyes out than see that again

Cavalierchaos · 01/03/2025 18:12

Can't believe people saying Tenet!! I love that film!!

Have you seen his first movie Attack of the killer tomatoes🤣 guarantee it's worse

Myfluffyblanket · 01/03/2025 18:13

The Langoliers, three and a half hours too long and really boring.
Emanuelle, a shocking attempt to make sexual exploitation of women acceptable and normal.
Don't get me started on anything 'James Bond'.

TheLargestToblerone · 01/03/2025 18:13

I nominate Violent Shit III: Infantry of Doom (the first two weren't AS bad,) Oasis of the Zombies and Slaughtered Vomit Dolls.

SeriaMau · 01/03/2025 18:14

Caligula.

Mygosh · 01/03/2025 18:16

The Family
Honestly no idea what the hell is was about.

JasmineAllen · 01/03/2025 18:23

I'm late to the party, but I give you the pretentious dross that is 'Peter's Friends'. You will not find a more nauseating, lovey infested film 🤮

Kleptronic · 01/03/2025 18:23

Iron Sky. Nazis on the moon. Enough said.

NPET · 01/03/2025 18:23

MeganCarter · 01/03/2025 16:13

or even Howard the Duck at someone’s house, her children were agog, we said, can’t really stop…

Thats the one that did so badly in America they tried to sell it elsewhere as "Howard A New Breed Of Hero" coz they thought it was the "duck" that had killed it. But it was the film itself which was just stupid.

LuluBlakey1 · 01/03/2025 18:27

Only ever left 2 films 'Tenet' and 'Nosferatu'. Both drivel .

Sorry but I fond memories of Enemy Mine as a kid in the eighties. Admittedly haven’t seen it in years but would always watch it when it was on.

I liked it as well back in the day. I think some films made decades ago you probably needed to watch them when they were new.

TiredCatLady · 01/03/2025 18:28

I give you Knives Out. Stellar cast, appalling script and storyline. Sells itself as being arty, clever, tongue in cheek to distract from the fact it’s absolute dogshit. “Oh well you just didn’t get it”.
See also Asteroid City. Watched that on a plane. Excruciating.

Dollydaydream100 · 01/03/2025 18:29

Lately - Nosferatu and ever? Early man by the Wallace and gromit creators - I think the only film I've ever walked out of.

8misskitty8 · 01/03/2025 18:30

Borderlands,
Lord of the rings (fell asleep during it)

TragicMuse · 01/03/2025 18:30

No-one has yet mentioned Little Man. It's absolutely the worst thing I've ever seen. It's a grubby nasty film, I felt soiled after seeing it.

FKAT · 01/03/2025 18:33

I used to work for a video company acquiring direct to video movies. All the films listed here are Citizen Kane compared to some of what I've seen. Unfortunately any individual names will be quite outing.

Agree with Peter's Friends. I can forgive a low budget horror movie for being bad but the worst bad films are those with Aspirations and Meaning.

JellyQuivvers · 01/03/2025 18:34

I went to the cinema to watch Wolf in 1994, a film starring Jack Nicholson, Michelle Pfeiffer and Christopher Plummer - amongst others. The description reads: "After being bitten by a wolf, former senior editor Will Randall finds himself a changed man. Now full of vigour and youth, he fights to regain his job and also woos his former employer's daughter." 😬

It was so bad the audience laughed throughout, and cheered when it ended 😂. I've NEVER heard of it since (or seen it on TV) so it's definitely been tossed aside

Fgfgfg · 01/03/2025 18:38

Munnygirl · 01/03/2025 17:23

Don’t look up was pretty shite. Jennifer Lawrence play Jennifer Lawrence

Watch it again and you'll see that actually it was an incredibly prescient warning of things to come. The ignorant, self absorbed President desperate to keep people hooked and enthralled with a catchphrase and a bit of chanting; the weird tech guru pulling the strings in the background; and family members inserted into prominent political positions irrespective of their intelligence or qualification for the job...

Talonz · 01/03/2025 18:41

Goodness me. What a load of shite you lot are posting. Absolute drivel. Shocked at some of these films.

You should be proud of yourselves for the sacrifices you have made. Thank you !

I thought my post on a sunny Saturday afternoon might get maybe 3 or 4 replies, then perhaps later around 6pm another couple, but we are at over 100. Woo hoo! Other than MN, I have zero SM accounts so I am starting to feel like an influenza.

I am now going to lobby Sir Keir and Yvette Cooper to suggest ASBOs get foot-tagged and have to stay at home and watch all of these films, at least thirty times. Crime is going to be eradicated.

May I now add another film. Claire's Knee. It is a French film about some pervy twat who is rich and lives by a lake and lusts after some girls to help him up a step ladder. A fucking step ladder is the most expensive prop in the film. The highlight of the film is he manages to touch her knee - right at the end. Sad bastard.

Agree with Peter's Friends

Wow. I love Peters Friends - it's a British classic! And Plan 9 from Outer Space is a cult classic, his films have a lot of die-hard fans. I also love Ed Wood, the Johnny Depp film about his life. It's very funny.

Im going to offer The Revenant. Some bloke stumbling about mumbling then sleeping in half a horse

Oh noooo. Loved that film. I'll never moan about my central heating again.
