Bonnie Blue -sex positivity or old fashioned shame?

Bonnie Blue.....just why?

I guess we have a woman that has made a lot of money and notoriety out of an act but I really can't see this as being a positive really. I guess it does highlight the age old question whether we should be against at female promiscuity or not be judgemental about how a woman use her body but it does seem rather crass.

Anyway I prefer other world records perosnally.

I think it's interesting. I think people want to her to regret because it would seem wrong to us if the didn't regret her actions. It's as if society needs to her to feel regret and remorse as there is something to be atoned for.

It does bring in the question does slut shaming serve a useful societal / moral purpose or is it inherently wrong or criticise a woman's sexual choice no matter our own personal thoughts? Has Bonnie benefited financially because in current society we don't 'slut shame' enough.

Let's face it she probably wouldn't have sent through this exercise in Saudi if she was reasonably sensible.

It’s all fun and games now, but one day, in a few short years, her soul will be crying at 3am, and the thought of all of those men, and what they did, will starting eating away in the darkness. I hope she sees the light and gets help long before that happens.

NewYearStillFat · 18/01/2025 07:37

The finances are by the by. Perhaps that’s her motivation but it doesn’t make the act better or worse morally. It’s not slut shaming to acknowledge this is an act that’s likely to have a lasting psychological impact.

mids2019 · 18/01/2025 07:37

Are the men involved the stupid ones though as I presume they are probably getting a very small fraction of the 3 million Bonnie purportedly earned? Weren't the men the near if this weird carnal event?

If she thinks it is empowering women she is deluded

She has been used as a human sex doll. Not a single man in that room gave a crap about her or her feelings

She has been used and abused and this is likely to psychologically and physically damage her. I feel sorry for her - there are some things money can't buy.

LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 18/01/2025 07:38

I really feel its totally black mirror
Its just damaging, sad and broken on so many levels

the only "winners" are the morally repugnant creeps that own onlyfans, bonnie, lily, society and everyone else are just collateral damage.

Apparently it's Leonid Radvinsky who is the owner.

@Leonid you are making the world a worse place and as a result have a perosnal wealth over $1bn slow hand clap

NewYearStillFat · 18/01/2025 07:38

The men involved are morally bankrupt and devoid and any human decency IMO. I don’t believe they benefited financially.

NewYearStillFat · 18/01/2025 07:40

You’re conflating self worth with finances and the point is they are mutually exclusive. Just like you can’t buy physical health you can’t buy peace of mind.

mids2019 · 18/01/2025 07:41

I think there will be a psychological impact but I don't want to feel she 'deserves' mental health problems as no one in a way deserves to be ill. It does feel as a society we do feel she needs to feel shame as barrier to the behaviour. Maybe shame does have its uses.

OP posts:
LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 18/01/2025 07:42

Shame totally has its uses.

Look at society in general, i legitimately think we would benefit from more shame.

mids2019 · 18/01/2025 07:42

I think it's a really interesting point about the money? What price is your soul worth?

The sex must have been awful for the blokes as well. 45 seconds, someone with a stop watch to end your allotted time. A massive line of men with their dicks out behind you and a load of used condoms and jizzed in tissues on the floor to remind you of who has been before.

NewYearStillFat · 18/01/2025 07:43

No one has said she deserves mental health problems?

Ponkyandthebrain · 18/01/2025 07:44

I don’t think there’s anything decent about the word cum bucket. You might not like what she’s done but she’s a human being.

Whilst there may be some ‘happy’ sex workers out there I think they’re the minority. More often there is trauma, addiction, complex mental health or undiagnosed neurodiversity at play.

I think she will regret it with time. Ive heard a few things she’s said about women. It seems like a defence mechanism. To wilfully make herself a figure of dislike so it’s in her control. I don’t wish her any ill and wouldn’t use derogatory terms about her. Yes it’s repugnant but so are the men involved. I think they are more so.

mids2019 · 18/01/2025 07:46

I do this exercise has made us in 2025 think about shame and it's societal purpose. However not many in the media want to directly shame as you are making a moral judgment about how a woman should behave sexually legally.

It's making a judgment about the line across which we start judging women's (and men's ) sexual behaviour and that's an interesting debate.

Did your DH say what he thought of the men involved as well @SkiingIsHeaven ?

Yes he said that they were disgusting, filthy, lowlifes.

Heatherjayne1972 · 18/01/2025 07:47

Im not judging her

But I’m very much judging the men involved here

lilacsatin · 18/01/2025 07:48

Is everyone confusing Lily Philips with Bonnie Blue?

No, Bonnie Blue pipped Lily to the post and made the revolting world record.

Theextraordinaryisintheordinary · 18/01/2025 07:49

LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 18/01/2025 07:16

She is a human black mirror episode.
Its just awful all round.

That’s what I thought. What’s next?! Completely soul destroying. Send down the meteor! ☄️

mids2019 · 18/01/2025 07:49

Interestingly she got interviewed on th is morning which is really bizarre. I think this is really quite dyatopian.

I think she was quite distressed after. She must also have been very sore indeed. I also read someone’s account and he said at any given time there were 30 or 40 men round her, and s little video of men queuing up in their boxers or naked. Waiting their turn. The room was full of used paper towels and condoms.Utterly grim.

I keep thinking that’s someone’s daughter, how must her parents feel. And I can’t decide what’s more tragic, her offering to do it, or the men knowing this is a vulnerable woman, queuing up to have sex with her. In front of other men. And she is vulnerable, no one who isn’t, and who has healthy boundaries would agree to this,

NewYearStillFat · 18/01/2025 07:50

I don’t think people are shaming her. I think most women are actually empathetic and concerned for her and her future self. She is a woman and other women want to see their peers empowered and uplifted. We want progress for women and their standing in society. Unfortunately Bonnie blue, to me, is playing out what can only be described as abuse. She might be consenting but IMO
anyone in their right mind can’t consent to that kind of psychological torment. The men involved show actually how little steps we have really taken forward in terms of men’s values and their attitudes towards women.

It’s not about shame - that might be your take but I think it’s quite a simplistic view of the mechanisms at play.

Her Mum was involved - she is supportive and I think that says alot about where her values have come from.

Christ, I didn’t know that. That’s messed up. Really messed up

Ponkyandthebrain · 18/01/2025 07:52

I think there’s too much ‘slut shaming’ and not enough shaming of male exploitation of women. The sex industry is an abuse of vulnerable women. One woman making that amount of money is an extra ordinary exception and look at what she had to do to get it. Most are paid very little compared to what they have to endure.

Where is our shame for the creators of abusive pornography, the users of it, the users of sex workers. When society judges these men not the women we will see real change.
